SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Read Instructions : All the safety and operation
instructions should be read before the EMX
-400
is operated
2. Retain Instructions : The safety and operating
instructions should be kept for future reference
3. Head Warning : All warning on the
EMX
-400
and in these operating instruction should be
followed
4. Follow Instructions : All operating and other
instructions should be followed.
5. Water and Moisture : The EMX
-400
should not
be used near water-for example, near a bathtub,
washbowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub, in a wet
basement, near a swimming pool, swamp or
salivating St. Bernard dog, etc.
6. Heat : The EMX
-400
should be situated away
from heat sources such as radiators, or other
device which produce heat.
7. Power Source : The EMX
-400
should be
connected to a power supply only or the type
described in these operation instructions or as
marked on the EMX
-400
.
8. Object and Liquid Entry : Card should be taken
so that objects do not fall into and liquids are
not spilled into the inside of the EMX
-400.
9. Servicing : The user should not attempt to
service the EMX
-400
beyond those means
described in this operating manual. All other
servicing should be referred to the Service
Department.
10. To prevent electric shock, don't open the case of
this appliance. There are no user serviceable
parts inside. Please contact authorized service
center for all servicing.
11. Grounding or Polarization : Precautions should
be taken so that the grounding or polarization
means of the EMX
-400
is not defeated.

shock, do not expose this appliance to rain or
moisture

1. HIGH FREQUENCY EQUALIZATION CONTROL
Provided E 15dB of fixed frequency equalization that shelves at 12KHz
2. MID. FREQUENCY EQUALIZATION CONTROL
Provided E 12dB of fixed frequency equalization that shelves at 3KHz
3. LOW FREQUENCY EQUALIZATION CONTROL
Provided E 15dB of fixed frequency equalization that shelves at 80Hz
4. MONITOR CONTROL
Use this control to be the level of signal from external monitor source and
the main signal control is re-controlled by master section. (see master
section)
5. EFFECT CONTROL
Use this control when you want to get effect sound by adjustment of input
signal. When you don't use external source, digital delay & reverb will be
working which installed inside.
6. PAN CONTROL
The pan control sends continuously variable amounts of the post fader signal
to either the left of right main busses.
In the center position equal amounts of signal are sent to the left and right
busses.
7. CHANNEL LEVEL
You can adust the volume of signal source which connected to the relevant
channel.
8. PAD (-20dB)
This switch, when push, attenuates the input signal -20dB.
9. UNBALANCE INPUT (HI-Z)
Using by 1/4" standard unbalanced connector, You can use unbalance
(tip/sleeve) and balance (tip/ring/sleeve).
10. CHANNEL LEVEL
Electronically balanced inputs accept a standard XLR male connector.
(Pin 1 = ground, 2 = Positive, 3 = negative)

11. HIGH FREQUENCY EQUALIZATION CONTROL

13. LOW FREQUENCY EQUALIZATION CONTROL
Provided E 15dB of fixed frequency equalization that shelves at 80Hz
14. MONITOR CONTROL
Use this control to be the level of signal from external monitor source and

15. EFFECT CONTROL

18. INPUT JACK : LEFT(MONO)
Line with connection 1/4 jack as line input of L, R stereo and input the signal
of balance line level. Now the signal input into the input terminal of left side,
output the mono output to left & right side.
19. INPUT JACK : RIGHT
Line with connection 1/4 jack as line input of L, R stereo and input the signal
of balance line level. Now the signal input into the input terminal of left side,
output into the right side only.

20. LEVEL DISPLAY
This is level meter which shows output level of left & right channel and
working condition on the way of operation.
Therefore, you can see output condition thru master level indicator.
21. HEADPHONE VOLUME CONTROL
The headphone volume control for the monitor, output signal to the head-
phone jack.
22. TAPE & AUX LEVEL CONTROL
By adjusting, you can control input level from AUX INPUT & TAPE PLAY
BACK.
23. HEADPHONE JACK
You can monitor working condition by sound thru headphone.
24. RECORD & PLAY BACK (PIN JACK)
These jacks are can be connected with cassette deck when recording
the mixed output & when playing back recorded.
25. POWER SWITCH
Push marked ( I ) When you want to operate.
26. POWER ON LED
When power switch push marked( I ), the LED will be turned on.
27. PHANTOM ON LED
The LED begin to illuminate when the PHANTOM POWER switch turn on
(+48V DC).
28. PROGRAM SELECTOR CONTROL
You can select the annexed functions of each location for parameter
adjust selector.

29. PARAMETER ADJUST CONTROL
Using by this control switch, you can take best sound you
want from 0 to 9 and A to F.

32. DUAL GRAPHIC EQUALIZER
7-band dual graphic equalizer is provided for tone control
over each frequency, and for precise high quality sound
by final tone control.
33. MASTER LEVEL
This is a master control volume for adjustment for volume
of left/right.
34. LINE LOOP
Connects external auxiliary unit(EQ,EFF) to your mixer in
order to improve the performances of this product.
send is input and return is output of external unit.
35. MONITOR LEVEL
Controls the amount of volume of each channel that is
sent to the monitor outputs.
36. MONITOR
This jack is to be connected with the input jack of monitor
amplifier when using separate monitor amplifier.
37. AUX IN
This jack is to be connected with various external auxiliary
signal.

38. PHANTOM POWER SWITCH
Depressing this switch applies 48V DC across all microphone input channels connectors
for remote powering of condenser microphones.
39. AC CORD
AC 220V, 50/60Hz *check the power source of AC 220V before connections.
40. FUSE HOLDERS
When occurs problem on this appliance, the fuse will be cut off power to prevent from a
problem. To replace, use standard fuse as specified on this appliance.
41. SPEAKER JACK
Connect same poles of speaker (+,-) as terminal of connection of Left, Right speaker.

Please take care of the following points for installations
1. Install this product at the place of good ventilation. And keep a interval over 30cm from the
other object.
2. Install this product at rear side for not-touching of some body, if possible and avoid an
installation of a aisle & the front side of the stage.
3. Cause an obstacle and an drop of product from the vibration of speaker, if you put this
product one speaker for a long time.
4. Avoid strong or using product in condition of excessive heat or cold, or in position shore it is
likely to be subject to vibration, dust or moisture.
5. Connect the plug into an outlet by the check of power source "AC 220V" of the installation
place
6. Install the speaker more front side than the used MIC and far away from MIC, if possible.
7. Insert a plug of cord closely into the speaker jack at the speaker connection.
8. Clean this product by using soft dry cloth & poly-wax.
INTRODUCTION
First of all, please make sure to confirm AC power voltage to eliminate any chance of unexpected.
Please turn off pier switch of this appliance, when you connect AC power cord to this appliance.
Set every controls to the positions stated belows to avoid loud blasts. Loud blasts may cause
damage for your speaker system or your ears when you are wearing headphone.

Push power switch marked ( I ), then the led will be turned on when start working.
To make sound thru external sources, the LEVEL DISPLAY LED will be illuminated in usual sound.
Adjust tone controls ( 1,2,3,11,12,13,32 ) in accordance with your taste.
When use Phantom Power (+48V), turn on the Phantom Power switch in rear panel.
CAUTION : To prevent electric shock, don't open case of this appliance. There are no user service-
