The mufin technology analyzes music on your

hard disk for its audio characteristics. New music

that fits well to the current song is suggested for

play. All found tracks will be visible at a glance,

sorted according to similarity inside a list.

Practical! For the mufin technology, only the

sound is of essence, so any song can be used as

a starting song, even your own music!

Create playlists and fill up your playlists & DJ sets with the best songs

Playlists & DJ sets can be compiled quickly &

intuitively

The best DJs create their sets ahead of time and

save these as playlists in order to be able to

concentrate on just mixing.

With MAGIX Digital DJ, you can easily add any

songs on your hard disk to a playlist. It is

possible to create, save and replay (for example

at the next birthday party or at a BBQ) various

sets in just seconds!

Song preview function and "beat matching"

Using the preview function*, you can quickly and

easily test whether the selected title fits to the

current song and can be integrated into the open

set.

Your audience doesn't hear beat matching of

songs and testing of various effects - the DJ can

preview everything through his headphones, and

the dance floor keeps moving from one perfect

transition to the next.

Handy browser and search function

To help you quickly orient inside even a big

music collection with many albums, songs and

remixes, the intuitive browser offers access to all

music titles on the hard drive.

typical iTunes® layout and lets you mix music

from the iTunes® database without any detours

directly in MAGIX Digital DJ!

The song views and playlists may be

manipulated in a normal way. Titles may placed

into the decks or added to playlists simply using

drag and drop.

Access to all iTunes® playlists*

Those who have already spent time arranging their favorite music into iTunes® playlists,

will be glad to know that iTunes® playlists are displayed and songs may be quickly

imported from them; this saves time and lets you start DJing and mixing your favorite

tracks right away!

Party non-stop with just one click! The integrated

AutoMix function automatically plays all songs

from one playlist, mixes the tracks with each

other and delivers hours or perfectly mixed music

– without any interventions by a DJ. The playlist

can be played from start to finish or in shuffle

mode.

PLUS! The duration of transitions can be set and

altered at any time.

DJ style & bass fade

With its DJ style function, the AutoMix lets tracks

MAGIX Digital DJ automatically recognizes the

beat and tempo of all songs. The speed and

pitch of any two songs can be matched to each

other with one click to ensure a perfect transition

– ideal for beginners!

Handy peak visualization

Peakscope lets you keep your eye on the mix

and stay on the beat!

Visualization in the peakscope helps find quick

and easy transitions and synchronize tracks with

each other.

Always stay on the right beat - thanks to the

master tempo

The master tempo determines the tempo of a DJ

set, if desired, so that the DJ software can orient

on the current master tempo during

synchronization of various songs from the

playlist, letting the overall mix never get faster or

slower.

This feature helps DJs to avoid making drastic

tempo jumps within a set and to ensure an

overall consistent mix, e.g. in DJ style.

Match the playback tempo or pitch

An important DJ tool: Pitch fader

DJs need the pitch function to make sure that

songs with different tempo or pitch are made to

match one another for good playback.

MAGIX Digital DJ has a pitch fader in each of its

two decks - easy to access and intuitive to use,

the optimal DJ tool!

Useful: Keep pitch

When mixing different songs, it can happen that

the tempo of one track must be adjusted, and

changing the tempo also changes the pitch. This

can sometimes cause unpleasant and undesired

distortions, nicknamed "Mickey Mouse sounds".

The key-lock button helps in these cases - when

it is activated, the pitch remains constant when

the song tempo changes. When it is deactivated,

the track's pitch also changes.

TIP! This function can be used creatively during

DJing.

Your own remixes complete with loops, scratches & samples

Remix with the realtime sampler

MAGIX Digital DJ offers manifold innovative

functions that let you express yourself when

DJing

With the built-in realtime sampler you can load up

to eight samples or loops at a time and mix them

to the playing track in realtime. The sampler is

ideally suited to add your own or one or several

already included sounds to any number of songs

and create your own remix versions!

Chop up audio with the Relooper

Another impressive tool for creating suspense

and dramatic breaks in playing songs is the

Relooper.

A playing song is broken up into individual

pieces, re-combined and played back as a loop -

it's the easiest way to creatively influence a mix!

Loop function

The loop function can be used to repeat sections

of a song in various lengths. This way, suspense

can be created before a break or an especially

catchy part of a song may be repeated again and

again.

It is possible to vary the length of the loop from 8

full beats to 1/32 of a beat and to set in- and out-

points by hand.

PLUS! Leap function: Repeat parts of a song and

then set back to the current playback position.

Mix effects for real DJ sound

3-band equalizer with kill function

The EQ is the best tool for preparing the sound o

a song for the mix in the best possible way; here

you can easily adjust the high, middle and low

frequencies of a song.

The extremely handy band kill function even

makes it possible to turn each of the three bands

on or off with a simple click. Additionally, you can

use this function as an exciting effect during

mixing.

mixes, will find a large selection of precise DJ

tools and effects.

• Bit Crusher: reduces the audio material's

quality to create a popular electronic

sound

• Filter functions: various filters for

exciting effects (low pass, band pass,

notch, comb & phaser)

• Cue marker: selects parts of songs which

can then be directly controlled and played

back

• Reverb, or echo effect

Equalizer and the effects can be easily controlled

and customized via the effect matrix.

Mixing software with a professional Audio Engine

Highly precise 64-bit Audio Engine

MAGIX Digital DJ is powered by Deckadance,

the reference DJ software and offers a highly

precise Audio Engine, developed especially for

DJing on Macs and PCs.

All processes are calculated internally with a

professional 64-bit engine and deliver perfect

sound and absolute stability.

ASIO support (only for the PC version)

ASIO allows lower CPU loads during DJing

and enables operation of audio applications with

lower latencies. MAGIX Digital DJ installation

includes an ASIO driver ASIO4ALL. This has two

benefits:

• Speed: ASIO drivers (in general) allow

lower CPU overhead and shorter buffer

length than the standard Windows

(DirectSound, WDM Driver). If possible,

you should always use an ASIO driver for

your sound card.

• Multiple audio devices: With the

ASIO4ALL driver, you can attach

additional audio devices, such as external

USB sound cards, which can be used to

monitor the output with your headphones*

while the main output continues to please

the crowd.
