This documentation is intended to help you to work with the BEETLE M1350 system and to serve as a
reference work. The detailed table of contents will help you find the desired information quickly and eas-
ily.

The type and scope of application programs depend on the customer’s own selection; therefore, soft-
ware will not be discussed further in this manual.

2.1 General safety instructions for the component
NOTE
Read this entire manual carefully in order to obtain a thorough knowledge with respect
to the system and the components, in addition to their operation and maintenance.
Operate the system and the components correctly in accordance with this manual in or-
der to avoid injuries and damage.
Keep this manual available and consult it for guidance when you are unsure about how
to carry out one or another of the procedures.
DANGER
Electrical voltage
Risk of fatal injury through contact with parts carrying electrical voltage! Switch the sys-
tem off before performing any cleaning or maintenance tasks.
lSwitch off the power switch for the power distributor.
lDisconnect the mains connection.
lDisconnect the connector of the power supply cable from the electrical socket in-
stalled by the building contractor.
DANGER
Repairs
Repair work on the system or on the components may be carried out only by authorized
specialist staff. Unauthorized opening of the system or repair work carried out improp-
erly could result in considerable danger to the user.
In case of noncompliance, Diebold Nixdorf excludes all liability.

2.2 ESD (Electrostatic Sensitive Devices)
Components containing electrostatic sensitive devices (ESDs) may be identified by this
label.
When installing a module or drive, please follow the following instructions, which pertain to all electro-
static sensitive devices (ESDs):
Always use the antistatic kit.
Statically discharge yourself, for example by touching an earthed object (such as a heat radiator) be-
fore beginning to work with ESD-labelled components.
Likewise, all equipment and tools used in working with such components must be free of static
charge.
Pull the mains plug before inserting or removing such components.
Only handle such components by their edges.
Never touch any terminal pins of the strip conductors on such components.

Designation Specification
Power Button Single Press: On/Off
Power LED The Power LED lights orange when the system has been shut down and is
in power mode S5. During shutdown, it takes a few seconds before the
color change occurs.
The Power LED lights green when the system is on and running (S0) or
flashes green when the system is in the "Energy Saving" mode (S3, S4).
Acitivity Indicator LED Off: No activity
LED yellow blinking: Activity is configured in BIOS

The external power supply is applicable for common line voltage.
It automatically adjusts itself to the particular voltage.

5 Connecting/Disconnecting Cables
Connecting cables
The installation of the system should be performed in the following order:
Plug all data communication cables and fix them.
Connect the power supply unit via a DC cable with the BEETLE M1350.
Connect the power cord of the power supply unit with the surge protector sockets of the housing in-
stallation.
Disconnecting cables
Never unplug a cable by pulling on the cable; always take direct hold of the plug itself. Follow the proce-
dure below when disconnecting cables:
Turn off all power and equipment switches.
Remove the cable cover.
Unplug all power plugs from the grounded-contact power sockets.
Unplug all data communication cables from the sockets of the data networks.
Unplug all cables from the devices.
NOTE
Never connect data cables when the system is switched on.

screw of the USB-C connector.

With 4 pin power plugs, the plug remains in-
serted until released.
Pull the plastic covering from the connecting
socket with your thumb.
The lock is released. The metal of the plug is
visible.

RJ plugs lock in place when plugged in.
To release a RJ plug push down the latch.
