2. Structure and operating principle:
(I) Structure
This series of unit are mainly composed of automatic control, heating and pressing,
adjusting, driving and vacuum oil filtering parts (See figure 1)
1. The automatic control part consists of air break switch, AC contactor,
temperature controller and circuit automatic protection device (See figure 3)
2. The heating and pressing part consists of heater, squeezing bolt, squeezing bolt
and assembly of complete machine.
3. The driving part consists of principal axis, reduction gear box, belt pulley and
motor wheel;
4. The adjusting part consist of stretching screws, adjusting nuts, hand grip and
locknuts (See figure 4 and 6)
5 The vacuum oil filtering part consists of vacuum pump and pipelines of oil
filtering drum. (See figure 5)
(II) Operating principle
After slowing down, the power is passed to main axle and the squeezing bolt on
principal axle will rotate to push the oil plants between screw threads to continuously
advance. And the pressure will become greater and greater for the gradually reduced
space between pressing chamber and squeezing bolt and increasing oil plants density.
During pressing, heat is generated because of the friction among oil plants grains and
between oil plants and parts. So the two main factors for oil pressing technology :
pressure and heat are created, which will destroy the histiocyte of oil plants, press the
oil spill out from oil thread and push the cake out of the mouth. When the spilled oil
flows to the top of filtering drum through oil pan, the vacuum pump will draw the air
out of the drum to create negative pressure in the drum. Then the oil is pumped into
the drum through filter cloth and the pure oil is obtained for the oil residue has been
separate on the filter cloth.
3. Assembly:
(1) When the assembly is made, sufficient space shall be available all round the oil
press for working staff to conduct operation;
(2) First adjust the four anchor bolts (A) under the engine base to place the machine at
horizontal position, then adjust the filtering drum to horizon (See figure 1);

(3) After the assembly, ground wire in 0.5-1m depth shall be made 3-5 m away from
the machine prior to operation.
4. Operation and use:
(1) Before use, it is necessary to carefully read the operating manual instruction and
be familiar with the performance emphasis and operating methods;
(2) Before starting-up, a complete inspection on the machine shall be made to make
sure that there are no loosened fasteners and inflexible handles. When turning around
the belt pulley with hand, all running parts shall be in good condition without any
abnormal noises. Then fill up the reduction gear box with # 20 machine oil;
(3) Loosen the locking nuts; turn around the stretching screw anticlockwise to make
the conical surfaces of squeezing bolt and cake outlet closely contact, then screw out
the stretching screw 2-3mm clockwise. After screwing up the nuts, prepare to start up
machine.
(4) Open the door of electric appliance and open the air break switch of power in the
case (placed in a suitable location) to switch on the power of complete machine;
(5) Adjust the temperature controller to 120-200 for pressing (depends on different
kind of oilseeds). Turn the master heating switch to heat the machine. When the
temperature of the machine reaches the fixed value, the light on the temperature
controller will change from green light on and red light off to red on and green off.
The temperature set up for the machine is 120-200. In winter, please switch on the
oil pan to increase the temperature for oil flowing down;
(6) Press the positive rotation button of main engine; it will start to run at
anticlockwise direction.
(7) The new assembled machine shall have 2-8 hours pressing. Slowly put the used
cake material rapeseed cake, soybean cake, cotton seed cake or cotton shell and
paddy shellinto the hopper and repeated for times to polish the pressing chamber and
easily making out cakes. Do not put the oilseeds directly into the hopper when starting
to press;
(8) The material shall be slowly put into the hopper. The machine shall be
immediately shut down to clear up the hamper when abnormal noises happen or the
squeezing bolt axis was locked because of heavy feeding. The machine can be
restarted up after assemble. Forcefully pulling machine or reversal pouring materials
are strictly forbidden. During normal pressing, regular pattern shall be achieved.
Control the cake thickness between 0.5-2mm and there is no residue in low pressure
section but few residues in high pressure section with the proportion of residue
against oil not higher than 10%. The temperature of pressing chamber can reach
120-200, so the blue smoke shall be piped out by piping line from hood shield and
the hot cake shall be timely spread out to avoid spontaneous combustion. When the
temperature of the machine is too high because of long time working, electric fan
shall be used to cool down;

shall be pressed to run. Then the air in the oil filter drum is pushed out, bringing about
the negative pressure. Therefore, the oil on it spontaneously flows into the oil filter
drum, leaving the oil residue on the filter cloth. After the squeezing, the vacuum pump
shall be stopped when the oil is pumped off. And the valve on the oil filter drum is
required to be opened (figure 5, 3, 4), on the filter cloth there is dry residual. The oil
filter will become clean by scraping off such residual with scraper. Then the neat oil
emit fro the bottom valve (figure 5, 5, 6);
(10) Stop
Before the stopping, the feeding shall be stopped, as well as opening the cake outlet.
Then a bit of cake scraps shall be put in and the cake materials in the squeezing
chamber shall be discharged until there is no cake put out. At this time, the machine
can be stopped. After the machine is stopped, the stretching bolt shall be rotated
clockwise one to three circles, and then cut off the power.
5. Maintenance:
(1) The lubrication shall be checked every 50 working hours. The oil cup on the
reduction box shall not lack oil. The grease shall be applied for the bearing of
stretching bolt of squeezing bolt through the hole on stretching bolt. Dry grinding is
prohibited.
(2) All lubricating parts shall be protected from dust and other impurities. The
oil in the reduction box shall be checked every year. If they are deteriorated, all of
them shall be changed.
(3) When the production reduces, or it is not normal to put out cake or oil, the
squeezing bolt shall be drawn out to check the abrasion of squeezing bolt, squeezing
bolt and cake outlet. The parts that are worn and torn shall be timely changed.
(4) Residual cakes shall be cleared away after every shift of work and the dust
and oil sludge on the machine surface shall be wiped up.
(5) If the machine will be stored for a long time after the production season,
they shall be provided with maintenance and the squeezing bolt, squeezing bars and
cake outlet shall be removed and washed, as well as applied with oil and put in dry
place.
(6) The power switch shall be cut down when to check, repair or change parts.
Maintenance with power is prohibited.

6. Squeezing methods of some main oils (for information only) :
() Requirements of pretreatment procedure before squeezing the oil material
1. Drying and choosing for oil material.
The oil material shall be dried in the sun and winnowed to be clean, making
the moisture less than 10%, impurity not more than 0.5%. In particular, many users
neglect the choiceness, an indispensable pretreatment procedure, considering it is
nonessential. However, as for the oil material that is not chosen, the dust will block
the oil way, and the sand will quicken the abrasion of parts, not only having
influence on the normal work, but also shortening the useful life of squeezing bolt,
squeezing bolt and cake outlet.
2. Husking and peeling.
Peeling such oil material with shell as cottonseed and peanut will improve the
handling capacity and oil yielding rate of oil press.
3. Crushing and flaking
This machine may press oil without this procedure, especially the rapeseed, which
will be not produce obvious effect without flaking. However, as for other materials,
the flaking will be good for improving handling capacity and oil yielding rate.
4. Cooking
While the machine is applicable to cold press, the production rate and oil yielding rate
of hot press will rank above that of cold press. When the material is being cooked, the
fire power shall be appropriate and the stirring shall be even so as to prevent from
being burnt or being burnt outside while being uncooked inside.
() Squeezing methods of some main oilseeds
1. Sesame
Before squeezing, the seed shall be cooked to be light gray with crack and oil will
come out if pinched. While the seed is being cooked, intense fire shall be adopted, and
the temperature shall be 120-150, and the cake thickness shall be 0.7-1.5mm. If it is
appropriately cooked, the oil will smoothly flow out without any residual and the cake
may be with strip shape. And the oil will be pressed out only for one time.
2. Rapeseed
For the moisture in the material of south and north is different, about 4-6% water
shall be added in north and no water added in south (depend on the inherent moisture)
before cooking. Intense fire shall be adopted to cook the seeds until they are hot
enough to burn the hands and cracks come forth, then small fire is used to cook them
to be brownish red. It is not allowed to add water during the cooking. The temperature
of the seeds that is too pressed shall be 100-120, and the moisture, about 1-15%.
Whether it is appropriately cooked or not, it can be determined by the oil flowing and
cake output. If it is appropriate, the oil flowing and cake output is smooth and there is
no residual in oil basically. In addition, the cake thickness is 1-1.5mm with flack
shape of brownish red

3. Groundnut kernels
The groundnut kernels shall be soaked before cooked. During the cooking, they
shall be added right amount of water to make them keep good flexibility and
sufficient moisture. When the kernels can separate from the skin and crush into two
half by pinching, they can be pressed. The cake thickness shall be 0.7mm with strip
regulating. And the oil output is smooth.
4. Soybean
The oil material shall be cooked to be light yellow before being cooked, and the
temperature shall be 100-120, and the cake thickness, 0.7mm. It shall be pressed
out of all oil only for one time. But the cake materials pressed for one time is too
parched, lots of proteins are lost. Therefore, twice press method is generally adopted.
The soybean shall be 60-70% cooked. The temperature for press shall be 80-100,
moisture, 5-6%, the cake thickness each time 1.5-2mm and the cake thickness for the
second time, 0.7mm. The cake is with strip regulate shape. The oil yielding rate is
high, and the handling capacity, great.

8. Dismantling easily worn parts :
(1) Dismantle and install the machine body
Dismantling: Pull out the worm after stopping working; screw out the bolt
connecting the bracket and the machine body; tie the machine with a rope and wooden
bar. Screw out the two nuts connecting the machine body and supporting block for
positioning (pull out the positioning end from the supporting block for positioning
along the machine body vertically), so the machine body can be dismantled.
Installing: The installation procedure is the opposite with the dismantling. But
attention should be paid to the fastening connections. Tighten the two bolts
connecting the body and bracket, but other fasteners, including bolts and nuts should
not be tightened until worm axle is installed and against the pyramidal surface of the
cake outlet.
After the machine body is installed, check the central line of the chamber is in
alignment with the center of bracket, supporting block for positioning and gearbox etc.
Judgment can be made by looking at if the worm can be smoothly moved in and out
to adjust screw rod. If not, loosen the bolts connecting the bracket, gearbox,
supporting block and the mount.
(2) Dismantle and install the squeezing bar
Dismantling: Move out the machine body. Hit one quadrangular squeezing bar with
an iron piece and a hammer until the bar comes off and other bars will come off
naturally. Same methods can be applied to dismantle low-pressure bars. Then clean
supporting mount of the body, bore of heating rings, pressing bars and cake outlet
(Please see Figure 6);
Installing: Chamber is comprised of pressing bars with high and low pressure, whose
shape has four types: A, B, C, and D. The type A and C is hexagonal prism. Type As
oil thread is deep and long and is all installed in low-pressure section, and the deeper
ends should be close to oilseeds inlet and no inversion is allowed. Type C’s oil thread
is short and shallow and should all be assembled in the low-pressure section. Type B
and D are both quadrangular and have no grooves. When assembling, type A and
type Cs position and direction should not be wrong. (Please see Figure 7).
After machine body, bracket and supporting block for positioning are as, hexagonal
prism and quadrangular press bars should be installed in staggered arrangement and
are kept to the inner wall of the machine body. Attention should be paid to the edges
of press bars which need to protected from damage. In case one side is damaged,
turn it over to use continually. Press bars should be installed in such a way that a
quadrangular one can be hit in with a wooden hammer in appropriate forces (See
Figure 8). If it is loose, adjust shims. Prevent shims from being deformed due to
the pressure of chamber and leakage might occur. After the press bars are installed,

inner circle should be even and smooth. When the last squeezing bar is installed,
protect the inner wall of body from being damaged.
(3) Dismantling and installing worm axle
Dismantling: Loosen the nuts and screw out the worm axle and pull out the nut,
take off flat keys and then worm can be taken off. Sometimes due to the poor seal
between the worms, the residues of oil cake might be stuck and make it difficult to
dismantle. So dismantling should be made when the machine is hot. Two persons
grasp the two handles respectively and turn the main worm axle facing down; put a
support on the ground and lift the handle and hit down, and worm will come off.
Installing: Clear the main axle, worm hole and key seat. Install 4 x 10mm keys first
and then worms in order. Please see Figure 4 for the installing position and direction.
Put them naturally. If it is over tight, clear axles and worm holes and see if there are
burrs. Remove those burrs and put them back again. After the worm is installed,
place the flat keys and screws into place. When the worm axle is installed and
against the pyramidal surface of the cake outlet, uses a spanner to tighten the nuts
anti-clockwise.
(4) Dismantling and installing bearing
Dismantling: Take off the end cover, loosen the handle and remove the cap, and put
a hard wooden bar of 20-30mm diameter into the hole and keep it closely against the
main axle ends; hit the other end of the wooden bar with a hammer to move the
bearing out of screw rod; put out the stop washer in the locking nut and loosen the
nuts, take off the bearings and bushings in order (See Figure 4).
Installation: the opposite of the dismantling.
