General Information
Cautions, Warnings, and Notes
Failure to follow indicated procedures may cause compo-
nent damage or malfuction.
Failure to follow indicated procedures
creates a high risk of personal injury to the service
technician.
Note: Additional relevant information not covered
in the service procedure.
Operational Warnings
Before starting a vehicle:
1. Sit in the driver’s seat.
2. Place the vehicle in neutral.
3. Set the parking brake.
4. Disengage the clutch.
Before working on the vehicle or leaving the cab with the
engine running:
1. Place the vehicle in neutral.
2. Set the parking brake.
3. Block the wheels.
Do not operate the vehicle if the alternator lamp is lit or if
the gauges indicate low voltage.
Repair Warnings
Disconnect the vehicle’s battery before removing or
installing electronic parts.
When disassembling various assemblies, lay all parts on
a clean bench in the same sequence as removed to sim-
plify and reduce the possibility of losing parts.
Use of other than recommended tools, parts, and instruc-
tions listed in this manual may place the safety of the ser-
vice technician or vehicle driver in jeopardy.
The location of some components may vary with each
OEM.
The removal and installation procedure described for
each component may vary for your vehicle.

General Information
How to Use This Manual
This manual is designed to provide detailed information necessary to service and repair the VORAD system.
The service procedures in this manual are for VORAD components only. To locate the information you need, simply
locate the procedure in the index, turn to the page specified, and follow the procedure.
General Instructions
This manual states general procedures for retrofit installations of the EVT-300. Each OEM installation location varies.
Your vehicle may vary slightly from the general guidelines in this Service Manual. Consult your OEM documentation for
specific details.
Identification Tag Information and Model Designation
VORAD model designation (i.e. EVT-300) is stamped on the product tag. To identify the VORAD Manufacturing Part
Number, Serial Number, and Service Part Number: Locate the Central Processing Unit and then locate the numbers as
shown.

General Information
Model Number
The model number gives basic information and is explained below. Use this number when calling for service assistance
or replacement parts.
Manufacturing Part Number
This number is used for manufacturing use.
Serial Number
The CPU serial number is the sequential identification number of the VORAD unit. Have the CPU serial number available
when calling for service assistance.
Service Part Number
This number is located below the Manufacturing Part Number and serial numbers. It is a reference number that is used
for replacement by Eaton.

Procedure-
1. Remove the two (2) acorn nuts, two (2) #4 flat washers,
and two (2) # 4 lock washers from the Side Sensor Dis-
play.
2. Remove the Side Sensor Display from the mounting
bracket.
3. Disconnect the VORAD Harness from the Side Sensor

Side Sensor Display Installation
Procedure-
1. Reconnect the VORAD Harness to the Side Sensor Dis-
play.
2. Attach the Side Sensor Display to the bracket using two
(2) #4 flat washers, two (2) #4 lock washers, and two (2)
#4-40 acorn nuts and slightly tighten.
3. Align the Side Sensor Display with the view from the
driver’s seat.
4. Torque the two (2) acorn nuts to 5-7 lbs. in. (.5-.8 N•m).
Final Check
Make sure the acorn nuts are properly tightened.
Make sure the VORAD Harness is connected and locked.

1. Disconnect the VORAD Side Sensor Harness.
2. Remove the four (4) mounting capscrews that secure the
Side Sensor to the mounting bracket.
3. Remove the Side Sensor from the bracket.

1. Install the Side Sensor on the mounting bracket.
2. Attach the Side Sensor to the mounting bracket with the
four (4) capscrews and tighten properly.
Note: Specific torque values vary according to OEM cap-
screw usage.
3. Reconnect the VORAD Side Sensor Harness to the Side
Sensor.
Final Check
Make sure the mounting capscrews are properly tightened.
Make sure the VORAD Harness is connected and locked.

1. Disconnect the Antenna Harness from the Antenna
Assembly.
2. Remove the Antenna Assembly fairing, if applicable.
3. Remove the four (4) mounting capscrews.
4. Remove the Antenna Assembly from the vehicle bumper
or the Antenna Assembly mounting plate.

Antenna Assembly Installation
Procedure-
1. Install the Antenna Assembly onto the bumper or the
Antenna Assembly mounting plate.
2. Install the four (4) mounting capscrews and tighten prop-
erly.
Note: Specific torque values vary according to OEM cap-
screw usage.
3. Reconnect the Antenna Harness with dielectric grease on
the connection.
4. Perform the Antenna Assembly Alignment Procedure
(see page 34).
5. Torque the Antenna adjusting screws to 24-26 lbs. in.
(2.7 - 2.9 N•m).
6. Install the Antenna fairing.
Final Check
Make sure the mounting capscrews are properly tightened.
Make sure the Antenna Alignment is correct.
Make sure the Antenna Harness is connected and locked.
Make sure the Antenna adjusting screws are properly tight-
ened.

1. Disconnect the VORAD Harness from the back of the
Driver Display Unit.
2. Pry the Driver Display Unit with double-sided tape (or
remove screws) from the dashboard or the mounting
bracket.
3. Clean the surface area where the Driver Display Unit was
installed. Use an alcohol-based cleaner.

Driver Display Unit Installation
Procedure-
1. While holding the Driver Display Unit against the mount-
ing bracket, position the Driver Display Unit to the
desired location. Check viewing angle of the Driver Dis-
play Unit. If viewing angle needs to be changed, bend
mounting bracket as necessary.
2. Clean the surface area where the Driver Display Unit
bracket will be installed. Use an alcohol-based cleaner.
3. Remove the backing from the adhesive tape on the
mounting bracket (provided screws can also be used).
Attach the Driver Display Unit mounting bracket to the
desired spot on the dashboard.
4. Remove the backing from the adhesive tape on the Driver
Driver Display Unit and attach to the mounting bracket
(provided screws can also be used).
5. Reconnect the VORAD Harness to the Driver Display Unit.
Final Check
Make sure the Driver Display Unit is securely mounted.
Make sure the VORAD Harness is connected and locked.
