Corinex Internet Phone with Headset allows you to make and receive phone calls over the Internet, using your broadband connection. End User License Agreement
CORINEX COMMUNICATIONS CORPORATION
This End User License Agreement (“EULA”) is a legal agreement between you and CORINEX
COMMUNICATIONS CORPORATION (“CORINEX”) with regard to the copyrighted Software
provided with this EULA.
Use of any software and related documentation (“Software”) provided with a CORINEX hardware
product, or made available by downloading or otherwise to you by CORINEX in whatever form or
media, will constitute your acceptance of these terms, unless separate terms are provided by the software
supplier, in which case certain additional or different terms may apply. If you do not agree with the terms
of this EULA, do not download, install, copy or use the Software.
1. Licence Grant. CORINEX grants to you a personal, non-transferable and non-exclusive right to use
the copy of the Software provided with this EULA. You agree you will not copy the Software except
as necessary to use it on a single hardware product system. You agree that you may not copy the
written materials accompanying the Software. Modifying, translating, renting, copying, transferring
or assigning all or part of the Software, or any rights granted hereunder, to any other persons, and
removing any proprietary notices, labels or marks from the Software is strictly prohibited. Furthermore,
you hereby agree not to create derivative works based on the Software. You may permanently transfer
all of your rights under this EULA, provided you retain no copies, you transfer all of the Software, and
the recipient agrees to the terms of this EULA. If the Software is an upgrade, any transfer must include
all prior versions of the Software.
2. Copyright. The Software is licensed, not sold. You acknowledge that no title to the intellectual property
in the Software is transferred to you. You further acknowledge that title and full ownership rights to
the Software will remain the exclusive property of Corinex Communications Corporation and/or its
suppliers, and you will not acquire any rights to the Software, except as expressly set forth above. All
copies of the Software will contain the same proprietary notices as contained in or on the Software.
3. Reverse Engineering. You agree that you will not attempt, and if you are a corporation, you will use
your best efforts to prevent your employees and contractors from attempting to reverse compile,
modify, translate or disassemble the Software in whole or in part. Any failure to comply with the above
or any other terms and conditions contained herein will result in the automatic termination of this
license and the reversion of the rights granted hereunder to CORINEX.
4. Disclaimer of Warranty. The Software is provided AS IS“ without warranty of any kind. CORINEX
and its suppliers disclaim and make no express or implied warranties and specifically disclaim warranties
of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement of third-party rights. The
entire risk as to the quality and performance of the Software is with you. Neither CORINEX nor its
suppliers warrant that the functions contained in the Software will meet your requirements or that the
operation of the Software will be uninterrupted or error-free.
5. Limitation of Liability. Corinex’s entire liability and your exclusive remedy under this EULA shall not
exceed the price paid for the Software, if any. In no event shall CORINEX or its suppliers be liable to
you for any consequential, special, incidental or indirect damages of any kind arising out of the use or
inability to use the software, even if CORINEX or its supplier has been advised of the possibility of such
damages, or any claim by a third party.
6. Applicable Laws. This EULA will be governed by the laws of Canada, excluding its conflict of law
provisions.

7. Export Laws. This EULA involves products and/or technical data that may be controlled under any
applicable export control laws, and regulation, and may be subject to any approval required under such
laws and regulations.
8. Precedence. Except as set out above, where separate terms are provided by the software supplier,
then, subject to this EULA, those terms also apply and prevail, to the extent of any inconsistency with
this EULA.

USING CORINEX MULTIMEDIA HEADSET
1. Plug in the stereo headphone and the microphone plugs into the line-out or audio out jack and the
microphone jack respectively on the sound card in your computer. It is also possible to connect the headset
to other audio devices, such as a CD player. In that case, connect only the stereo headphone plug into the
jack on the audio device.
2. Turn off the volume on the control box before activating the audio source. After activating the audio
source, adjust the volume as necessary.
3. Put the headset on your head and adjust the headband to fit your head. Adjust the microphone tube so
that it is near to your mouth. Turn on the microphone switch when using the microphone.

1. Skype (Free PC to PC calls for Skype users, premium PC to Phone calls)
Go to the Internet page www.skype.com. Sign up following the instructions on the web page.
Download and install the Skype software. On the Skype front panel, select File->Options->Hand/
Headset and select your internal sound card to appear in all three dropdown menus. The Corinex
Multimedia Headset can now be used as an input/output device with Skype. You need to use
the Skype software to dial a number. No further steps are required to use the Skype service.
(For further details, see User Guide, section 2.3.)
SKYPE USER INSTALLATION IS NOW COMPLETE
2. Insert the enclosed CD ROM into the CD ROM drive. On the menu that automatically appears, click
Install Corinex Softphone, choose language in the drop-down menu and click Install to begin
installation. Follow the instructions shown by the Installation Wizard. When prompted, enter the serial
number that is printed on the label on the CD-ROM envelope. (For further details, see User Guide,
section 3.3.)
3. Registration with a service provider:
Register with a Voice over IP service provider, following the instructions on the service provider’s web
page. Depending on the service provider and the service you choose, different settings may be
required. Please note that with most service providers, you need to activate your account before you can
start to make calls. Instructions on how to activate your account will be sent to your e-mail address.
As an example, the following text explains how to register with the provider Free World
Dialup and configure the Softphone for using this provider. Registering with other providers
is similar.

To start the sign up process, click on the red button Get FWD! at the right side. The following screen
will appear:
Now click on the Sign up link. The next screen will ask for your personal information.
Fill in the fields your personal information and continue with the Next button. After this, your user number
(FWD number) and password will be sent to the e-mail address you entered in the signup form. Now
you are registered with Free World Dialup and can make Internet voice calls to other Free World Dialup
users.
4. Start the Softphone software, which you find under Start->Programs->Corinex->
Softphone. When the software is launched for the first time, a wizard automatically starts and
helps you entering the necessary settings into the Softphone software. Choose the SIP
protocol and click on Next. From the list of providers, select Free World Dialup
and click Next. On the next screen, type your FWD number into the field called Your
number and your password into the Password field, as provided by Free World Dialup, and press Next.
Press OK to exit the wizard.
Note: The configuration wizard can be launched any time by clicking the button Start wizard
appearing in the Account Settings tab in the menu.

5. Corinex Softphone will now connect to Free World Dialup. After successful registration, the name of
the provider will appear in the Softphone’s window. You can now use your headset and Softphone for
making free Internet voice calls!
6. You can test your Free World Dialup account by dialing one of the test numbers below. Use the
keyboard, or the keypad of the Softphone software to type the number followed by pressing the Dial
key. For more service numbers, please refer to your service provider.

Corinex Internet Phone with Headset
1 Introduction
1.1 Overview
With Corinex Internet Phone with Headset, users can make calls via the
Internet and save on long distance and international call costs. Installation
is as easy as plugging headset into the input and output jacks of your
sound card, without the need for any drivers. The headset can be used
with NetMeeting, Skype and other PC-based softphone applications. The
Corinex Multimedia Headset comes in a streamlined and fashionable design
and features a volume control.
Free Corinex Softphone software is included on the installation CD that is
compatible with Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP. It supports free VoIP Internet
services such as Free World Dialup or SIPphone, and can be set up for
working with any VoIP service supporting the SIP version 2.0 and H.323
version 4 protocols, for making PC-to-PC or PC-to-Phone calls.

2 Using Corinex Internet Phone with Headset
You can use the Corinex Internet Phone with Headset in three ways:
1. As an audio input/output device in combination with any software
supporting audio recording or playback. This includes music and video
players, sound editors and other software.
2. As an audio input/output device in combination with common 3rd party
software supporting voice communication (see chapter 2.2 and 2.3)
3. As an audio input/output device in combination with the Corinex
Softphone software included on the CD, which enables you to use VoIP
services of different providers (see chapter 3.)
The following picture shows the physical description of your headset:
2.1 Hardware Installation
This section outlines how to connect your Corinex Multimedia Headset to
your computer. The installation is very simple, all you need to do is to
connect the headset cable to the input and output jacks of your sound card.
The headset is now ready for using with the software of your choice.
To start using the phone with NetMeeting or Skype, please refer to the
next chapters. If you want to use the phone with the Corinex Softphone
software (included on the CD) and the VoIP service provider of your choice,
proceed to chapter 3.

2.2 Using the Headset with NetMeeting
After plugging the headset to your computer, you can use it with Microsoft
NetMeeting. All you have to do is to set up NetMeeting to use the internal
soundcard as output/input device. Please follow the steps below:
1. Start NetMeeting and click on Tools -> Options. Then go to the tab
Audio.

2. Click on Tuning Wizard. The following window will appear.
Click Next to continue to the next screen.
3. Here you can select the audio device for input/output. Please select
the name of your soundcard and click Next.

4. On the next two screens you can adjust volume for playback and
recording.
After this setting, click Next and finish the configuration wizard. The
NetMeeting software is now configured to use the Corinex Multimedia
Headset for making and receiving voice calls.
2.3 Using the Headset with Skype
After plugging the headset to your computer, it can be used with Skype
(www.skype.com) for voice communication. All you have to do is to set
up Skype to use the internal soundcard as output/input device. Please start
the Skype application and follow the steps below.
1. Start the Skype application and click on Click on File -> Options and
go to the tab Hand/Headsets.

2. On this screen, you can see three sound device settings. Please set
Audio in, Audio out and Ringing to the name of your soundcard.
3. Click Save to accept the changed configuration. Skype is now ready
to be used with the Corinex Multimedia Headset.

3 Using the Headset with Corinex Softphone
The Corinex Internet Phone with Headset comes with a CD including the
Corinex Softphone software which enables you to use VoIP services of
different providers. In order to use it, you have to sign up to a provider
first and get the access information necessary to start making phone calls.
Please refer to the following chapters to learn how to do it.
3.1 Using the Phone with Predefined Free SIP Operators
For your convenience, the Corinex Softphone contains the settings for
a few predefined operators: Free World Dialup and SIP Phone. You can
choose one of them and read in the next chapters how to sign up to their
VoIP service.
3.1.1 Free World Dialup
To sign up to this operator, open your Internet browser application and go
to the web site http://www.freeworlddialup.com.

To sign up to this operator, open your Internet browser application and
go to the web site http://www.sipphone.com. Then click on the link My
SIPphone.
Now click on the link Sign up which is located at the middle of the text.

The appropriate link to continue is located at the bottom of the web page.
Click on it (Click here).
A security alert may appear. To continue, click on the Yes button.
Then fill out the fields with your personal information and click on the

3.2 Using the Phone with Predefined Free H.323
Operators
Most H.323 VoIP operators charge for their services at the time of this
printing. There are currently no pre-defined settings for free VoIP using
H.323 available. In order to set up the Softphone for use with an H.323 VoIP
service provider, please refer to section 3.3 for the software installation and
to section 4 for the configuration of the Softphone.
