Using Contact Download Application
This document describes the use of the Contact download
application (contact_sync) in the Nokia 9300i device when
using a Bluetooth connection and the Bluetooth SIM
Access Profile mode (remote SIM access) with the Nokia
610 Car Kit Phone. The Contact download application is
used to download contacts from a Nokia 9300i to a Nokia
610 Car Kit Phone and to forward SMS messages from a
Nokia 610 Car Kit Phone to a Nokia 9300i.
Note that you can download contacts from a SIM card also
without using the Contact download application.
To be able to use the application, you must have the
following:
A Nokia 9300i.
A Nokia 610 Car Kit Phone installed.
The latest available version of contact_sync.sis file.
The Contact download application uses the language that
is selected in the Nokia 9300i during the installation of the
application. To change the language, change the language
in the Nokia 9300i, and then re-install the Contact
download application.
The Contact download application supports the following
languages: English, German, Greek, Spanish, French,
Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Turkish, Serbian (Latin),
Croatian, Polish, Finnish, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian,
Icelandic, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Russian,
Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Romanian, Hungarian, Czech,
Slovak, Slovenian.

installed to the MMC Apps folder.
4 Go to the MMC Apps folder and start the application.

automatically to the background each time you switch

After the application is started, it appears in the tasks
list. Note that the contact transfer is initiated from the

list of found devices, scroll and select your Nokia 9300i.

character passcode in the Nokia 9300i. You get the
passcode from the Nokia 610 Car Kit Phone.
Next, the Nokia 9300i asks if you want to accept a
Bluetooth connection from the Nokia 610 Car Kit
Phone. When you accept it, the Nokia 9300i goes to
the remote SIM access mode indicated by a SIM icon
next to the Bluetooth icon and an icon showing that
there is no network connection in the Nokia 9300i.
If PIN code request is on in the Nokia 9300i, the Nokia
610 Car Kit Phone asks you to enter it. Enter the PIN
code, and if you do not want to enter it again, select to
save the remote PIN code. Note that this is a security
issue. For more information, see the Nokia 610 Car Kit
Phone User’s Guide.
6 When the Nokia 610 Car Kit Phone asks if you want to
download contacts from the mobile phone, answer No.
7 In the Nokia 9300i, return to the Bluetooth menu and
go to the Paired devices page. Edit the pairing with the
