Recommended procedure for installation Slip joint connection
NOTE: Discard two nuts and the two small inserts.
1. Turn off water at the tap.
2. Remove old center outlet waste.
3. Remove nuts A and washers B from the arms of the center outlet waste.
4. Put nuts A and washers B on strainer tailpieces.
5. Place center outlet waste in position. Tighten nuts by hand. Run water to test for
leaks.If your sink requires longer arms, purchase Slip Joint Extension Tubes.
Recommended procedure for installation Direct connection
1. Turn off water at the tap.
2. Remove old center outlet waste.
3. Invert nuts A and drop short tailpiece inserts C into them.
4. Remove nuts D and place on inserts C with poly washer.
5. Join one insert assembly to the top of each arm.
6. Place nut and washer from J Bend onto tailpiece of tee.
7. Put washers B into top slip nuts. Place center outlet waste in position.
8. Connect center outlet waste to sink strainers and tighten nuts by hand. Run water to
test for leaks. If your sink requires longer arms, purchase Slip Joint Extension Tubes.
NOTE: These parts are designed for a hand-tight installation. Pipe thread compound is
not required.
Installation hint: The Center Outlet Waste may be installed directly to the threads of the
strainer by using the extra nut and insert provided (Fig. 2) or by a slip joint connection
attaching the tee to the tailpiece which is assembled to the strainer (Fig. 1). Match your
existing installation.
Pipe or Spud Wrench (to remove old brass outlet tee).
