Caution
Observe the safety instructions in the vehicle instruction manual.
➤ Remove the driver's airbag.
Observe the manufacturer's safety instructions.
The airbag may be removed by an authorised specialist only.
➤ Remove the steering wheel (fig. h, page 10).
➤ Remove the rear panelling (fig. i 1, page 10).
➤ Remove the blank module (fig. j 1, page 10).
This is no longer required.
➤ Install the control element (fig. j 2, page 10).
➤ Fit the rear panelling (fig. k 1, page 11).
➤ Cut the wire with the cable terminal at the plug on the control element
(fig. l 1, page 11).
Insulate the wire.
➤ Insert the plug on the control module (fig. l 2, page 11) into the socket
on the control module wiring harness (fig. l 3, page 11).
➤ Release the 6-pin plug on the steering wheel by pressing the spring-
contact (fig. m 1, page 12).
➤ Connect the wiring harness on the control module to the 6-pin plug
(fig. n, page 12):
– connect grey wire (1) to socket 2 of the plug
– connect black and white wire (2) to socket 5 of the plug
– connect red wire (3) to socket 6 of the plug
➤ Lock the plug by pressing the spring contact (fig. n A, page 12).
➤ Insert the plug (fig. o 1, page 13) into the socket on the steering wheel
(fig. o 2, page 13).
➤ Fit the steering wheel (fig. o 3, page 13).
➤ Fit the driver's airbag.
Observe the manufacturer's safety instructions.
The airbag may be fitted by an authorised specialist only.
