1. Introduction
equip RS-232 Serial Express Card works with various types of RS-232 serial
devices including modems, switches, PDAs, label printers, bar code scanners,
digital cameras and more. It is a perfect solution for users to add a serial console
port to their Notebook/Netbook computer.

2. Software Installation
Windows 2000 Installation
1. Insert RS-232 Serial Express Card into an available ExpressCard/34 or
ExpressCard/54 slot.
2. Insert the Driver CD into your CD-ROM/DVD.
3. Click “Cancel” when Windows display the Found New Hardware Wizard.
4. Double Click “Setup” icon on Driver CD
E:\RS232\RS232_USB\32bit_Windows.
5. Click “Next to continue the installation process.
6. Click Yeswhen dialog box appeared.
7. Click Finish to finish the installation process.
Windows XP / Vista Installation
1. Insert RS232 Serial Express Card into an available ExpressCard/34 or
ExpressCard/54 slot.
2. Insert the Driver CD into your CD-ROM/DVD.
3. Click “Cancel” when Windows display the Found New Hardware Wizard.
4. Double Click “Setup” icon on Driver CD
E:\RS232\RS232_USB\32bit_Windows.
5. Screen will exhibit a dialog box as follows.
6. Click “Next to continue the installation process.
7. Screen will exhibit a dialog box indicating the driver has not passed Windows

Logo testing.
8. Click Continue Anyway”.
9. Click “Finish to finish the installation process when Installation Wizard
shows such a message.
Verifying the Installation
1. Right click on “My Computer” icon, select “Manager”, left click on
Device Manager”.
2. Click “Ports”, if there is no exclamation mark (!) or question mark (?) in front
of USB to Serial Bridge Controller (COMx).
The driver has installed correctly.

2.1 Setting Baud Rate
Follow the instructions in this section to set the baud rate correctly.
1. Right click on "USB to Serial Bridge Controller {COMx}" icon, select
"Properties", left click on "Port Settings" tab.
2. Click "Bits per second" to setting real baud rate.
