MK K1402M is a master trailing edge dimmer module, designed to work with K1401S and K1402S slave modules. It can be used to control resistive and capacitive/electronic transformer lighting loads only. Installation & Operating Instructions
SAFETY:
Danger 220-240 Volts: Always disconnect the electricity supply
before commencing any work on the installation of device or
changing lamps or bulbs.
The device should be installed by a competent person or a qualified
electrician in accordance with the device’s installation instructions and the
appropriate current national wiring regulations.
It is essential that all connections are made as instructed, that cables are
not stressed and that terminals are fully tightened.
The mains supply to this product must be protected by an appropriate
fuse or MCB.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
Reduction of the dimmer power:
If this product is used in an ambient temperature exceeding 40°C, the
maximum allowable load will need to be reduced according to the table
below. This will prevent the internal thermal protection in the product from
activating and switching the load off.

GENERAL:
Master-Slave Operation
The K1402M master trailing edge dimmer can be used with up to 2 x
K1401S leading edge slaves and 2 x K1402S trailing edge slaves.
The slave dimmers will automatically follow the operating mode and load
state of the master.

INSTALLATION:
The dimmer module is designed for mounting into distribution and
consumer units containing 35 mm DIN rail according to EN50022.
Please observe the following points during installation:
All master and slave dimmers must be connected to the same supply
phase.
The mains supply to the dimmer(s) must be protected by a suitable fuse
or MCB rated no greater than 16A
Do not exceed maximum control line length of 100m and do not run
slave control lines parallel to mains and network cables.
Always observe the transformers recommended loading guidelines.
Load transformers at or close to their full rated capacity. Do not connect
a small load to a larger transformers, (e.g. a 35W lamp on a 600VA
transformer)
Ensure that slaves are wired to the correct control terminals and that
the polarity is observed

Inductive loads (i.e. conventional wire-wound transformers,
etc.) must not be connected to trailing edge dimmers.
Control Wiring for operating Modes 1-7:
Control switches T1-3 for operating modes 1-7 should be push-to-make
momentary contact switches.
Up to 10 operating switches may be wired in parallel with Neon indicators
being allowed on control line T1 only

TROUBLESHOOTING:
If your product does not work properly please check the
following items,
Mains supply MCB and voltage.
Cable connections and wiring.
Ensure that connected lamps are operational and have not blown.
Ambient temperature and ensure dimmer is not overloaded.
Note: Normal voltage and frequency fluctuations on the mains supply can manifest
as flicker on the lamps and does not represent a fault with the product.

Disposal:
At the end of their useful life the packaging and product should be
disposed of via a suitable recycling centre. Do not dispose of with your
normal household waste. Do not burn.
Guarantee:
MK Electric undertakes to replace or repair at its discretion goods should
they become defective within 2 years solely as a result of faulty materials
and workmanship. Understandably if the product has not been installed,
operated or maintained in accordance with the instructions, has not been
used appropriately or if any attempt has been made to rectify, dismantle or
alter the product in any way the guarantee will be invalidated.
The guarantee states MK Electric’s entire liability. It does not extend to
cover consequential loss or damage or installation costs arising from the
defective product. This guarantee does not restrict, infringe or in any way
affect the normal statutory or other rights of the consumer.
