1 Introduction
This manual provides information about configuring and using the MiEntry
mobile app.
1.1 MiEntry
Mircom’s TX3 MiEntry is an app for Android and iOS that provides SIP voice
and video calling with TX3 voice entry products.
1.2 System Requirements
The following mobile devices are recommended:
iPad: iOS 11.x
iPhone 6+: iOS 10.x
iPhone 7: iOS 11.x
iPhone 8: iOS 11.x
Samsung S7: Android 7.x
Samsung S8+: Android 8.x
Google Pixel: Android 8.x
LG Nexus 4: Android 5.x
LG G4: Android 6.x
MiEntry works with the TX3 Touch Screens that support SIP, and the TX3 Nano.
Mircom supports using MiEntry with the SIP services provided by OnSIP.

1.4 Terms
Local Area Network (LAN): An IP network in a limited area, such as a building,
that all the devices are connected to.
OnSIP: Company providing online SIP services (http://onsip.com/).
Registered: All devices that use SIP must be registered with the same SIP server.
SIP (Session Initiation Protocol): A protocol for controlling voice and video
communication over an IP network.
SIP account details: A SIP username, SIP password, and address of the SIP
server.
SIP Client: SIP clients are devices that communicate with each other using SIP.
SIP Server: A computer or program that monitors and establishes the call
between SIP clients.
SIP Trunk: A method of connecting SIP clients to the PSTN or cellular network.
SIP Username: Every SIP client has a unique SIP username.
SIP Password: Every SIP client has a password for registering with the SIP
server.
TCP/IP: The group of protocols that specify how computers communicate with
each other over the Internet.
VOIP: Voice over IP.

2.1 Allow Notifications on iOS
The first time that you open MiEntry on iOS, the following screen appears.

1. Tap Allow. This allows MiEntry to notify you about calls when it is in the
background or closed.
Note: If you tap Don’t Allow, then MiEntry will not notify you about
calls when it is in the background or closed.
If you tap Don’t Allow, you can change this setting in the device’s iOS
Settings later by following the instructions below.
Allow MiEntry Notifications in iOS
1. Tap Settings.
2. Tap Notifications.
3. Tap MiEntry.
4. Turn on Allow Notifications.

2.2 Change the Password
When the administrator creates an OnSIP account for you, you receive an email
from OnSIP.

2. Enter a new password in the fields, then click SET.
3. Record the SIP Username and SIP Password (see Figure 3). You will need
them in the next section.
OnSIP sends you a confirmation email.

2.3 Configure MiEntry
You now have the two pieces of information you need to configure the MiEntry
app to make VOIP calls:
SIP username (for example jsmith@mircom.onsip.com)
SIP password
Configure MiEntry with an OnSIP account
1. Open the MiEntry app.
2. Provide the following information as shown in figures 5 and 6.
First field. The first part of the SIP username (before the @)
Second field. The SIP password
Third field. The last part of the SIP username (after the @)
For example, if your SIP username is jsmith@mircom.onsip.com,
then enter jsmith in the first field and mircom.onsip.com in the
third field.
Transport. Leave as is (UDP on iOS and TCP on Android).
Remember Me. Leave this setting On so that you will not have to enter
this information in the future.

When the Android app is registered successfully, the dialpad appears.
When the iOS app is registered successfully, the dialpad appears and the
word Registered appears at the top.

3 Using MiEntry
Note: The first time that you make or receive a call, your mobile device
will ask you to give MiEntry permission to access the camera and
microphone.
You must give MiEntry permission to use the camera and
microphone in order to make and receive video calls.
3.1 Answer a Call
Answer a call
When you receive a call, the screen shows the display name of the caller (as
configured in the TX3 Nano configurator).

To answer the call, tap the Answer icon at the bottom of the
screen.
Decline a call
•Tap the Cancel icon at the bottom of the screen.

3.2 Make a Call
Make a call to a SIP username
1. Tap the field that says Tap here to enter an address.

2. Type the SIP username of the person you want to call.
3. Tap the phone icon.
Make a regular phone call
1. Dial the phone number on the dialpad.
2. Tap the phone icon.

3.3 During a Call
The screen shows a video feed from the caller, if the caller’s application supports
video and if your MiEntry app is set to accept video calls.

Unlock the door
•Tap the Door icon at the bottom of the screen.
The call is disconnected. The door automatically locks again after
the visitor has entered.
Refuse access and hang up
•Tap the End Call icon at the bottom of the screen.
The call is disconnected and the door does not unlock.
Mute the microphone
•Tap the Micro icon at the bottom of the screen to mute the
microphone.
When the microphone is muted, the caller cannot hear you.
To unmute the microphone, tap the Micro icon again.

Mute the speaker
Tap the Speaker icon at the bottom of the screen to mute the
speaker.
To unmute the speaker, tap the Speaker icon again.
Stop the video
Tap the Video icon at the bottom of the screen.
Start the video
If the video is stopped, tap the Video icon to start the video.
Pause the call
Tap the Hold icon at the bottom of the screen.
The caller is on hold until you resume the call. The caller will hear
music while he is on hold.
Resume the call
When the call is paused, tap the Play icon at the bottom of the
screen.
3.4 Call History
See your call history
1. From the dialpad, tap the History icon.
MiEntry shows a list of calls you have made and calls made to you.
2. Tap Missed to see calls that you have missed.
3.5 Log Out
If you log out, then you will no longer be able to receive calls.
1. Tap Settings.
2. Tap Logout at the top of the screen.
The MiEntry app is now unregistered from the SIP server.

4 Appendix: Settings
MiEntry is configured by default to work with TX3 products, so you should not
need to change the settings.
4.1 User Settings
1. Tap Settings.
You cannot change your account information here. If you want to log in
with a different username, then tap Logout and configure MiEntry again
as described in section 2.3.
Note: On Android, a green dot appears beside the account information
when the account is registered.
2. On iOS, tap Transport to change the transport (UDP, TCP, or TLS). On
Android, log out and log in again to change the transport.
3. On iOS, tap Reset to Default Settings to reset MiEntry to its
factory settings. This does not erase your account information.

4.2 Video and Advanced Settings
1. Turn on Enable video. This must be On in order for MiEntry to send and
receive video.
2. Tap Video to access the video settings.
Initiate video calls. If this setting is On, MiEntry will send a
request for video automatically when it starts a call. Turn this setting
Off if you do not want to send or receive video when you make a
call.
Accept incoming video calls. If this setting is On, MiEntry will
automatically accept requests for video when it receives a call. Turn
this setting Off if you do not want to send or receive video when
someone calls you.
Show self view (iOS only). Shows or hides the smaller video feed
of the person making the call.

Appendix: Settings
Preferred video size. This is the size of the video that MiEntry
sends. The default is qvga in order to conserve bandwidth.
Note: Higher video resolutions use more bandwidth.

3. Tap Advanced to see the advanced settings.
Enable animations. Shows or hides the sliding animations that
appear when you choose a different option, for example History or
Dialpad.
Auto-answer after notification (iOS only). When MiEntry is in
the background or closed and it receives a call, it displays a
notification (if Allow Notifications is on; see section 2.1 on page 6).
Turn Auto-answer after notification On if you want
MiEntry to automatically answer the call when you tap the
notification.
Open Door Digit. MiEntry sends a DTMF signal to the TX3 Nano
or TX3 Touch Screen to open the door. By default, this is 9 in the
TX3 Nano, TX3 Touch Screen, and MiEntry. If this number is
changed in the TX3 Nano or TX3 Touch Screen, then you must also
change it here.

Debug (iOS only). If this setting is On, MiEntry records
information that can be used by Mircom technical support to solve
problems.
Send Logs (iOS only). Tap to open an email message to
techsupport@mircomgroup.com containing the debug
logs.
Clear Logs (iOS only). Tap to erase any debug logs that MiEntry
has recorded.

5 Warranty and Warning Information
WARNING!
Please read this document CAREFULLY, as it contains important warnings,
