IMPORTANT
Notes concerning alarm systems
Breakdowns, malfunctions or faulty settings may cause substantial damage and financial losses when regulat-
ing and controlling the climate in a livestock house. It is therefore essential to install a separate, independent
alarm system that monitors the house climate concurrently with the climate and production controller. According
to EU-directive No. 98/58/EU, an alarm system must be installed in all mechanically ventilated houses.
We would like to draw your attention to the fact that the product liability clause of general terms and conditions
of sale and delivery specifies that an alarm system must be installed.

Insect Monitoring Kit

1 Product description
The insect monitoring kit can measure air flow via the UltraLink monitor unit in real time, which can be con-
nected with real time measurements of e.g. carbon dioxide (CO2), ammonia (NH3) and humidity (RH%) from
DOL 119, DOL 53, and DOL 114 sensors respectively. After exporting data from FarmOnline, it is thus possible
to calculate total production of CO2 and NH3, respectively, as well as water evaporation over time. The produc-
tion of CO2 is a particularly important parameter in relation to calculating the heat production (Watt /m2) from the
insects - and it is valuable information in connection with the dimensioning of commercial insect production.
The density of insects in the test boxes as well as the nature of their feed are of great importance for the heat
production that can be achieved. The insect monitoring kit provides the opportunity to screen different produc-
tion conditions in the laboratory and assess the effect on e.g. heat production and it is valuable information in
connection with dimensioning in relation to i.a. ventilation capacity. In addition, data on ammonia concentration
and ammonia emission also provide important information with regard to possible need for large-scale air clean-
ing.
The insect monitoring kit is supplied with 10 DOL 12 sensors. The sensors can be used to measure the temper-
ature at the insects in the feed substrate. To achieve the best result, the sensors must be weighed down with a
weight (not SKOV delivery), which ensures that the sensors remain immersed in the test boxes. Likewise, it is
recommended that 2-3 sensors are used per test box to get a better estimate of the insects' experienced tem-
perature.

4 Installation guide
4.1 Electrical connection
Installation, servicing and troubleshooting of all electrical equipment must be carried out by quali-
fied personnel in compliance with the applicable national and international standard EN 60204-1
and any other EU standards that are applicable in Europe.
The installation of a power supply isolator is required for each motor and power supply to facilitate
voltage-free work on the electrical equipment. The power supply isolator is not included.
4.2 Setting the supply voltage on the power supply
Before you connect supply voltage, it is important to set the voltage in the power supply so that it
corresponds to the voltage level in the local house.
1. Set the voltage in the power supply.
2. Connect the supply voltage.
200-230 V Leave the plug in (factory setting)
100-115 V Move the plug to 100-115 V
