CLP TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
I am hearing static in my earpiece
o Constant static - Your radio may be in monitor mode. To deactivate monitor
mode, tap the MENU button on the top right of the radio (square emblem) and
then press the + button. This will turn the feature on or off.
o Static when transmitting/receiving- Identify if this is with KNOWN or
UNKNOWN conversations. If this is with a known conversation, test the
connection of your earpiece. To do so turn the radio OFF, disconnect and
reconnect the earpiece, and then turn the radio back ON to retry. If you still have
static, test another earpiece with the same radio. If this corrects the issue, then
the earpiece needs to be replaced and the radio has no issues. If this does not
correct the issue, please call for troubleshooting. If this is with unknown
conversations, then you are picking up interference from other radios nearby
and need to manually reprogram the radio.
I am hearing a beeping noise
o Repetitive beeping that chirps every few seconds- With the radio turned on, tap
the POWER button and listen for the voice prompt. If the prompt says that your
battery level is critical, then this is a low power beep. Try charging the radio to a
full charge to see if this eliminates the issue.
o Beeping sound that chirps when others are talking- If there is a chirp at the end
of a radio transmission, this is called a roger beep. To deactivate this feature,
turn the radio OFF, press and hold the + button and the POWER button until the
radio turns on, and then release. Press and hold the PTT button on your radio,
and listen for the beep upon releasing the PTT. If the beep is gone, then the beep
has been deactivated. If this feature is active on even one radio, all others will
hear it so test on all units.
My radio will not transmit or receive
o If your radio is neither transmitting nor receiving, then it may not be
programmed to match your other radios. Please call for reprogramming.
o If your radio is not transmitting but is receiving, or vice versa, then this is an issue
with the earpiece. Turn the radio off, disconnect and reconnect the earpiece
then try again. If this does not fix it, try another earpiece in the same radio. If the
issue is eliminated then you have a defective earpiece. If the issue is not
eliminated then please call for troubleshooting.
