Start-up and operation
• Attach the seed furrow former to the
end of the PCS single-seeding seed guide
tube.
• Fit the catcher rollers to the dual-disc
coulters.
• Remove the seed furrow former and
catcher roller when converting to normal
drill seed.
Setting PCS brushes
Setting the brushes of the PCS- single-seeding elements for various maize sizes and
shapes.
Operating advice for PCS dosing elements.
1. PCS dosing elements should be serviced annually. For performance optimization, test
your sowing material on a PCS test stand.
2. For seed treatment always use graphite. 1-2 table spoons is enough per big pack.
3. The ideal working speed is 6.0 bis 8.0 kmh. Excess speed leads to a decrease in dis-
tance precision, and imprecise depth control.
4. Occasionally check the brush bristles for wear .
5. Pay attention to the use of seed treatment materials and additives. They may cause
dosing diffi culties, premature wear and increased deposits on the dosing parts of the
machine.
6. Check all important elements of the machine for fi ne tuning, including blower, air distrib-
utor fl ap, PCS dosing elements, sowing hoses and tubes, PCS sensors, drilling depth
adjustment and the coulter system with double disc coulters, seed furrow former, catcher
rollers and pressure rollers.
7. Check brush lever and adjust if needed. The brush is so designed that setting position 3
equates to a standard brush. This position works well for medium-grain seed. The lever
can be engaged to fi ne tune the dosing effi ciency for larger or smaller seeds by turning it
to the left or to the right. See table or sticker for details about brush setting.
