Fieldbus couplers, controllers and I/O modules found in the modular WAGO I/O
System 750 receive digital and analog signals from sensors and transmit them to
actuators or higher-level control systems. Using controllers, the signals can also
be (pre-) processed.
The devices have been developed for use in an environment that meets the IP20
protection class criteria. Protection against finger injury and solid impurities up to
12.5 mm diameter is assured; protection against water damage is not ensured.
Unless otherwise specified, operation of the devices in wet and dusty
environments is prohibited.
Operating the WAGO I/O System 750 devices in home applications without
further measures is only permitted if they meet the emission limits (emissions of
interference) according to EN 61000-6-3. You will find the relevant information in
the section “Device Description” > “Standards and Guidelines” in the manual for
the used device.

Appropriate housing (per 2014/34/EU) is required when operating the WAGO I/O
System 750 in hazardous environments. Please observe the installation
regulations! Please note that a prototype test certificate must be obtained that
confirms the correct installation of the system in a housing or switch cabinet.
The implementation of safety functions such as EMERGENCY STOP or safety
door monitoring must only be performed by the F I/O modules within the modular
WAGO I/O System 750. Only these safe F I/O modules ensure functional safety
in accordance with the latest international standards. WAGO's interference-free
output modules can be controlled by the safety function.

The 750-495/040-010 3-Phase Power Measurement Module (also referred to by
the short name “I/O module”) allows measurement of electrical data in a 3-phase
supply network in the medium voltage range up to 20 kV
RMS
by means of voltage
sensors per IEC 60044-7 (new version: IEC 61869-7) and current sensors per
IEC 60044-8 (new version: IEC 61869-8). Observe the information in chapter
“Technical Data”.
The I/O module measures nominal voltages up to U
LL
= 20 kV
RMS
(U
LN
=
11.547 kV
RMS
) and line-to-line nominal currents up to 300 A
RMS
. It provides a large
number of measured variables, allowing comprehensive analysis of the 3-phase
network. These measured values allow operators optimized control of their
equipment, protecting the system against damage and failure.
The measured values provided by the I/O module indicate the load type
(inductive or capacitive) and whether it is an energy consumer or producer, for
example. This allows visualization as a 4-quadrant display, as has been
implemented in the display of the measured values in WAGO-I/O-CHECK,
among other things.
The measured values provided are described in the following sections.
The voltages of the 3 phases are connected via voltage sensors to CAGE
CLAMP® connections L1, L2, L3 and N, and the currents are connected via
current sensors to CAGE CLAMP® connections I1, I2, I3 and N. On the basis of
these input signals, the I/O module determines the various AC measured
quantities, such as voltage and current, reactive, apparent and active power,
energy consumption, power factor, phase angle and frequency. Harmonic
analysis (current/voltage) is also possible for a selectable phase up to the
41st harmonic. The measured quantities are available in the process image,
without requiring high processing power from the controller.
Use only standards-compliant sensors, and pay attention to the technical
data
Use only voltage sensors approved per IEC 60044-7 (new version: IEC 61869-7)
and current sensors per IEC 60044-8 (new version: IEC 61869-8), and do so in
accordance with the information in the section “Technical Data.”
I/O module not suitable for billing purposes
Regardless of the accuracy class of the current and voltage sensors used, the
I/O module is not approved as a meter for billing purposes in the sense of the
electricity metering standard (DIN 43856).
