Step 1. Initial setup
U-Disk mode / Clock update
U-Disk mode is used for changing the password, setting the internal clock, and overwriting existing data
in memory, and other settings. This procedure should be performed before using the XTR-BLUE1:
• Set the XTR-BLUE1 power switch to OFF (power o).
• Connect the USB cable provided between the USB jack on the XTR-BLUE1 and a USB jack on a
computer running a Microsoft® Windows® operating system (see Specications for Operating
System Platforms).

• Power on the XTR-BLUE1.
• After the operating system recognizes the XTR-BLUE1, use Windows Explorer to open the directory
for the XTR-BLUE1 (USB) device.
• In the directory le list, double-click the lename Authentication.exe to open it. An
Authentication window will open.
• In the Authentication window, enter the default password, PD20, then click OK.
• Click the Sync Date/Time button to update the clock in the XTR-BLUE1 with the clock settings of
your computer.
• When the date and time conrmation window opens, click OK.
• Click the Change Password button.
• In the Password window, enter a New Password for the XTR-BLUE1, then re-enter it in the
Conrm Passwordeld.
Click U-Disk. A directory le list for the device will open.
• In the le list for your XTR-BLUE1, nd and open the initialization le. This le is appended with a .ini
extension, and can be edited with any text editor, such as Notepad.

To setup the TV OUT signal format, edit NTSC_PAL = 0 for NTSC video format (used in most of
North and South America, and some other countries), or edit NTSC_PAL = 1 for PAL format.
To setup the Loop Overwrite function, edit VIDEO_RECORD_MODE = 0 to stop recording when
memory is full, or edit VIDEO_RECORD_MODE = 1 to overwrite old data in memory when
memory is full.
Enter a password to use the TV OUT feature of the XTR-BLUE1. The default password is
000000. The password can have a maximum of 6 digits.
Save the editing changes made to the le and close the le editor.
Proceed to Charging the XTR-BLUE1 ..., or eject the device from the operating system, then
disconnect it from the USB port.
Charging the XTR-BLUE1 and portable power supply
Charge the XTR-BLUE1 device fully before use. It can be charged dierent ways:
• Through a USB connection to a computer:
Power o the XTR-BLUE1.
Connect the USB cable provided between the USB jack on the XTR-BLUE1 and a USB jack on a
computer that is running. The XTR-BLUE1 will begin charging and the red indicator will ash
slowly.

Wait until the red indicator stops ashing and stays on, then disconnect the USB cable between
the XTR-BLUE1 and your computer.
• Using an automobile cigarette lighter with the adapter:
Power o the XTR-BLUE1.
Plug the cigarette lighter adapter into the lighter socket.
Connect the USB cable provided between the USB jack on the XTR-BLUE1 and a USB jack on
a cigarette lighter adapter. NOTE: Some cars may need to be running to provide power to the
lighter socket. The XTR-BLUE1 will begin charging and the red indicator will ash slowly.
Wait until the red indicator stops ashing and stays on, then disconnect the USB cable between
the XTR-BLUE1 and cigarette lighter adapter.
• Using the USB power adapter provided:
Power o the XTR-BLUE1.
Connect the power adapter to the USB connector on the XTR-BLUE1, then plug it into a standard
120 VAC outlet. The red indicator on the XTR-BLUE1 will ash continuously while charging.
Wait until the red indicator stops ashing and stays on, then disconnect the power adapter
from the XTR-BLUE1 and outlet.
• Charging the Portable Power Supply .
Power o the Portable Power Supply.
Connect the Mini B 8-Pin Discharge Wire to Portable Power Supply and the USB connector
adapter.
Plug the USB connector into a USB port on a running computer. The indicator on the Portable
Power Supply will ash continuously while charging.
Wait until the indicator stops ashing and stays on, then disconnect the Portable Power Supply.
Using the Portable Power Supply with the XTR-BLUE1
The Portable Power Supply can provide extended power to the XTR-BLUE1, or function as a ash light if
necessary. To attach the power supply to the XTR-BLUE1:
• Power o the XTR-BLUE1.
• Attach the Mini B 8-pin discharge wire (provided) to the USB jack of the XTR-BLUE1 and the front-
panel jack of the Portable Power Supply

Step 2. Operation
Powering on the device
To power on the headset, slide the power switch to on. The red indicator will light and an audible tone can
be heard.

NOTE: If the device doesn’t respond when the power button is pressed, the battery power is low.
The device should be recharged.

Video Recording - Manual
With the XTR-BLUE1 powered on:
• Press the Video Recording button to start video recording. The green indicator light will ash
slowly and an audible tone can be heard.
• Press Stop to stop recording. The recording will be saved into a le in an AVI format le. During long
term video recordings, the system will generate a le automatically in every 30 minutes.
Video Recording - Voice activated
With the XTR-BLUE1 powered on:
• Turn on XTR-BLUE1 voice activated switch; the red indicator will ash three times. If the sound level
rises above 75db, the device will start recording video; if the sound level drops below 75dB for three
minutes, the recording will stop and the device will revert to standby mode. It will start recording
again when the sound level rises above 75dB.
• During long term video recordings, the system will save the automatically le every 30 minutes.
Photo Shooting
With the XTR-BLUE1 powered on:
• Press Shutter once. The XTR-BLUE1 will take two pictures. The green indicator light will ash twice
and an audible tone can be heard from the earpiece.
• Photographs are saved in JPG format.
Awakening from Standby
With the XTR-BLUE1 powered on and in Standby state (not recording):
• If no operation is in progress and no buttons are pushed for 3 minutes, the device will “sleep”.
To wake the unit and begin recording:
- Press the Video Recording button to record video, or
- Press the Sound Recording button to record audio, or
- Press the Shutter button to take two photographs.
- Press the Stop button to stop recording or wake the device without starting any operation.
Battery Level Detection
With the XTR-BLUE1 powered on:
• Press and hold the Stop button for 4 seconds. The red indicator will ash from 1 - 4 times, indicating
how much power is available in the battery. See the Operations Indicators table above to decode the
ash indications.
Memory Level Detection
With the XTR-BLUE1 powered on:
• Press and hold the Video Recording button for 4 seconds. The green indicator will ash from 1 - 4
times, indicating how much memory space is available in the device. See the Operations Indicators
table above to decode the ash indications.
O-loading recordings from the XTR-BLUE1
You can copy or delete les from the XTR-BLUE1 for viewing on a computer or freeing space in the headset
internal memory. To copy les from the XTR-BLUE1:
• Power o the XTR-BLUE1.
• Connect the USB cable provided between the USB jack on the XTR-BLUE1 and a USB jack on a
computer running a Microsoft Windows operating system (see Specications for Operating System
Platforms). An entry will appear for the device.

• After the operating system recognizes the XTR-BLUE1, use Windows Explorer to open the directory
for the XTR-BLUE1 (USB) device.
• In the directory le list, double-click the lename Authentication.exe to open it. The Authentication
window will open.
• In the Authentication window, enter the password setup you setup for the XTR-BLUE1, then click OK.
The default password is “PD20”.
• Click U-Disk to open the le directory window.
• Open the PHOTO or VIDEO folder, then copy the contents to a local directory on your computer as
needed. You can also delete les from these directories to free internal memory space.
• Play the les copied to your computer’s local directory using standard Windows audio - video
players.
Using TV OUT
TV OUT is used to attach the XTR-BLUE1 directly to an AV player, such as a TV or monitor with compatible
interface connectors to play video/audio or audio les:
• Power o the XTR-BLUE1.
• Connect the AV cable provided between the XTR-BLUE1 and a AV player or monitor.
• Power on the XTR-BLUE1. The red and green indicators will be on continuously. To operate the
device, see the on-screen graphic controls display:
Press Shutter to select the last le for play, press Voice Recording to select the next le to
play.
Press Voice Recording to play and pause the le selected.
Press and hold Voice Recording to fast-forward through the le.
Press and hold Shutter to to quickly rewind the le.
Press Stop to stop playing the le.
Press Stop for 2 seconds to delete the le.
Using the device as a PC camera
To attach the XTR-BLUE1 to a PC for viewing and recording live video:
• Power o the XTR-BLUE1.
• Set the Voice Activation switch to On
• Connect a USB cable between the USB jack on he XTR-BLUE1 and a USB port on your computer.

Step 3. Using the XTR-BLUE1 as a Bluetooth headset
Bluetooth Pairing
Press Bluetooth Answer/Ring O of headset for 5 seconds. An audible tone can be heard, and the blue
light will ash quickly indicating that pairing is initiated.
At the mobile phone, start a search to nd Bluetooth devices. The XTR-BLUE1 will appear as “PD20” when
discovered by the mobile phone. “Pair” the Bluetooth headset to mobile phone. After successful pairing,
an audible tone can be heard and the blue light on the headset will ash in every 3 minutes, indicating
that the Bluetooth headset is connected to the mobile phone.
Dialing
After dialing and connecting a call, the headset will pair with the mobile phone.
Answering
After hearing the prompt tone from headset, press Answer/Ring O on the headset. An audible tone
can be heard, indicating that the call has been answered.
Rejection
After hearing the prompt tone from headset, press and hold Answer/Ring O for 2 seconds. An audible
tone can be heard, indicating that the call was rejected.
Ringing O
After making a call, press Answer/Ring O. An audible tone can be heard, indicating that the ringer is
o.
Volume Control
To increase the headset volume, press the Volume Control button once. To decrease the volume, press
and hold the Volume Control button.
Turn o Bluetooth Headset
Press Answer/Ring O for 3 seconds to turn o the headset. The blue light will be on for 1 second, and
an audible tone can be heard.
