6. An extension cord should not be used unless absolutely necessary. In such case, make sure that
the extension cord and plug match the tool cord and plug by type, size, shape and other qualifi-
cations and that it is properly wired and in good condition. Do not use extension cord with di-
ameter smaller than 2,5 mm2 or length longer than 20 m, otherwise the motor may be damaged.
Personal safety
1. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating the tool. Do not use
the tool while you are tired, sick or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication. A mo-
ment of inattention may result in serious personal injury. Children or disabled people are not al-
lowed to use the tool.
2. Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye and ear protection. Also dust mask, non-
skid safety shoes and head protection must be used when necessary.
3. Avoid unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before plugging it in. Do
not needlessly hold your finger on the switch, especially when carrying the tool because this
could cause dangerous situations.
4. Remove adjusting keys and wrenches before turning on the tool.
5. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables you to better con-
trol the tool in unexpected situations.
6. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery that could get caught up by moving
parts. Long hair should be tied up.
7. If the tool can be connected to a dust extraction or collection facilities, ensure that they are
properly connected and used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.
Use and maintenance
1. Do not force the tool. Choose correct tool according to work to be done. The tool will do the job
better and safer at the rate for which it was intended.
2. Do not use the tool if the switch does not turn it on or off. A power tool that cannot be con-
trolled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired immediately.
3. Place the switch to off-position and disconnect the plug from the power source before making
any adjustments, changing accessories or storing the tool. This will prevent the tool from start-
ing accidentally.
4. Store idle tool out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the tool or
these instructions to operate it. The tool is very dangerous in the hands of an untrained user.
5. Maintain the tool with care. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of
parts and any other condition that may affect the machine operation and safety. If you notice
any damages in the tool, have it repaired in an authorized service center before use. Many acci-
dents are caused by poorly maintained tools.
6. Keep blades sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less
likely to bind and are easier to control.
7. Use the tool and accessories in accordance with these instructions taking into account the work-
ing conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the tool for operations different from those
intended is dangerous and strictly forbidden.
Maintenance
1. Only an authorized service center is allowed to service the tool using only original spare parts.
This will ensure that the safety of the tool is maintained.

SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Check that the power supply corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate.
2. When using cable drums, run all the cable off the drum. Minimum cable cross section is
1,0mm².
3. When using the machine outdoors, use only H07RN-F 3G 1,5mm² extension cables approved
for outdoor use and rainwater-protected plugs.
4. Make sure you always have secure and stable footing when drilling on ladders or scaffolding.
5. Use a detector to localize concealed electric, water or gas lines in walls. Avoid touching live
components or conductors.
6. Secure all workpieces firmly in place.
7. It is imperative to follow all national safety regulations concerning installation, operation and
maintenance of the tool.
8. Chisel or drill bits may be flung out of the machine accidentally and cause serious injury.
9. Before starting to work, always check that the chisel or drill bit is properly locked in the chuck.
10. Examine the chuck regularly for signs of wear or damage.
11. Never start up a hammer tool until pressed against the workpiece (wall, ceiling etc.).
12. When you have finished working, unplug the machine from power supply and remove the chisel
or drill bit.
13. Always disconnect the machine from power supply before changing the chisel or drill bit.
14. Protect your eyes and other workers from flying particles and splinters. Wear safety equipment
and put up partition walls.
15. Wear work gloves to protect fingers from bruising and grazing.
16. Vibrations can injure the hand-arm system. Keep exposure to vibrations as short as possible.
17. Always keep the power cord behind the tool.
18. Store the tool out of the reach of children.
19. When using the tool, always hold it with both hands and ensure that you have stable footing.

BEFORE USE
1. Examine the place where the device is to be used for hid-
den electrical cables and gas or water pipes using a pipe
finding device.
2. Before connecting to the mains, ensure that the mains volt-
age corresponds to the details on the rating plate.
Fitting and changing tools (Fig. 2)
The device is equipped with a SDS-Plus attachment system.
1. Clean tools and grease with a thin layer of machine grease
before fitting.
2. Pull back the fastening sleeve (Fig. 1, part 2) and hold.
3. Push and rotate the dust-free tool into the tool holder as far
as it will go. The tool will lock automatically.
4. Check that it has locked by pulling the tool.
Removing tools (Fig. 3)
Pull back the fastening sleeve, hold and remove the tool.
OPERATION
Switching on and off
To switch on the machine, press the On/Off-switch (Fig. 1,
part 4).
To switch off the machine, release the On/Off-switch (Fig. 1,
part 4).
Side handle (Fig. 4)
For safety reasons the machine may only be used with the side
handle (B). You will achieve a safe working position by mov-
ing the side handle to a position which is most suitable for you.
Loosen the side handle by rotating it anti-clockwise, turn it to
desired position and then tighten by rotating it clockwise.
Depth stop (Fig. 5)
Loosen the side handle and place the straight part of the depth
stop (C) into the hole. Adjust the depth stop to required drilling
depth and re-tighten the side handle firmly.

Dust collector (Fig. 6)
If the machine is to be used in vertical position e.g. for drilling
into ceilings, always fit the dust collector in place to the drill
bit before starting the work.
Hammer stop
The hammer drill is equipped with a hammer stop facility. To
deactivate the hammer action, turn the lever switch (Fig. 1,
part 5) clockwise.
To reactivate the hammer action, the lever switch (Fig. 1, part
5) has to be returned to original position.
Drill stop (Fig. 7)
You can deactivate the drilling action of the hammer drill
when using it for chiseling work. Turn the lever selector (3) so
that the arrow (a) coincides with the mark (c) .
To reactivate the drilling action, return the arrow (a) to coin-
cide with the mark (b) .
NOTE! When hammer drilling you will require low pressure.
Too much pressure will place unnecessary load on the motor.
Check the drill bits regularly and re-sharpen or replace blunt
drill bits.
MAINTENANCE
The machine and ventilation slots must be kept clean at all times. Unplug the machine from power
supply and clean it thoroughly after each use with compressed air (max. 3 bar). Never use caustic
agents to clean the plastic parts. Check the carbon brushes regularly. Dirty or worn brushes result in
excessive sparking and speed faults.
DISPOSAL
Waste electrical products should not be disposed of with household waste. Recycle
where facilities exist. Check with your local authority or retailer for recycling advice.
