Features and Functions
The Retail Viewer software is a dedicated application that offers single-site and multi-site viewing facilities.
This allows an Operator to simultaneously monitor and control (where available) video from one image
server or from several distributed sites.
Importantly; Retail Viewer can also accept and view streamed text data. Via the congurable GUI (Graphical
User Interface), this information can be combined with accompanying video images i.e. at a point of sale.
This can be used to pinpoint an incident which may require further investigation and both the recorded video
images and text information can be displayed simultaneously.
Multiple cameras from the same image server can be viewed in live or playback mode. This ensures the
Operator is aware of all potential events that may occur within the ‘site’ they are viewing. This functionality
can be compared to an installation using analogue monitors and a keyboard but with the advantage of
locating the monitoring station anywhere on the network, therefore removing the limitations of a conventional
wired system, i.e. maximum distances.
The software includes the necessary control functions for monitoring a video surveillance system i.e.
controlling a Dome or PTZ (Pan, Tilt Zoom) camera. It also allows a set of camera view congurations to be
saved as display presets.
Retail Viewer enables access to the event lists that are stored on a connected image server. These les
are where all logged alarms, activity and system changes are stored, allowing the Operator quick and easy
access to any event video recordings that are saved on the image server. The Operator is also able to
search text data held on a server for specic relevant information.
Image and text data can be saved and exported for external use, whilst the Evidence Suite option allows for
images to be edited, a specic area highlighted, or a third party effectively ‘removed’ from the image via the
pixilation tool.
Incident reports can be created via the easy to use database tools which enable bespoke solutions for
customer management.
