About this installation manual
This manual is intended for use by service engineers and contains information related to installation of the
10kg Ink supply unit and the Conversion to 2L Ink unit.
Use this manual in conjunction with the other related documents described below when installing the equip-
ment.

1. Attach the Stand BKT (x2) to the 10kg Ink supply unit.
(P4*10SMW black screw x2) each
2. Temporarily fasten the screws (P4*10SMW black screw x2)
to the Caster BKT (x4).
3. Attach the Caster BKT (x2) to the Tank Bottom Plate.
(P4*10SMW black screw x2) each
Fabricate two sets.
4. Attach the Tank Guard (x2) to the Tank Bottom Plate.
(P4*10SMW black screw x2) each
Fabricate two sets.
Be sure to wear safety glasses and working gloves during the operation. Depending on the work
condition, there is a risk that ink gets into your eyes, or your hand skin may get rough when you
touch the ink.

x2) for the twin hole to the 10kg Ink supply unit
beforehand.

Connection with Ink supply attachment unit
1. Attach the Degassing module Assy. (P4*10SMW black
screw x3)
2. Install the Ink IO PCB Assy. together with the Ink IO PCB
BKT in the Degassing module Assy. (Screw x2)
3. Connect the connectors to CN3, CN5, CN6, Cn7, CN12 and
CN13 on the Ink IO PCB Assy.
4. Fix the cable with a clamp.
5. Attach the Ink IO PCB bracket cover. (Screw x1)

Temporal fastening
Fasten temporarily the screws at the right of
backside which will be fastened together in the
STEP7.

As for the Ink IO PCB BKT and the Ink IO PCB
Assy., use the ones removed in the procedure
[OPT-J0476 Ink supply attachment unit Instal-
lation Procedure Manual (D501433)].
It is easy to work by attaching screws (x2) for
the twin hole to Degassing module Assy.

6. Attach the Hose of 10kg Ink supply unit to the Bottle supply
BKT R of the Ink supply attachment unit.
7. Fastening the terminal of FG Cable 3100 Assy. with the
screws temporarily fastened in the STEP1.
8. Connect the External supply connect cable Assy. with the
External supply relay cable Assy.
9. Fix the cable with a clamp.
10. Insert the Tank adapter (x8) to the Tank.

11. Connect the tube coming out from the top of the Degassing
module at the right end with the tube of Hose.
12. Connect the Degassing module connecting tube 130 to the
left end Ink valve and the Degassing module.
13. Connect the Degassing module connecting tube 190 (x7) to
the other Ink valves and the Degassing modules (x7).
14. Cut the tip of the tube removed in [Remove MBIS] by about
100 mm and connect it to the bottom of the Degassing mod-
ule.
15. Set the Ink tank 10kg (x8) to the 10Kg Ink supply unit.

When connecting the tube, do not forget to
attach the F Sealing Rubber 300 to the Fitting
φ3.
Facing the step of F Sealing Rubber 300

16. Connect the same color tank pipes (if using a single ink tank
for the same color).
(1) Pull the even-numbered tank pipes from the tank caps.
(2) Insert the tank pipes pulled out in (1) into the odd-num-
bered tank caps.
17. Set the Supply pipe (x8) to the Ink Tank 10kg (x8).

If the tank pipes are difficult to pull out, apply
03 cleaning solution to the gap between the
pipe and tank cap, then rotate and pull out.
Take care to ensure the cleaning solution does
not mix with the ink.
Push with the tip of the tank pipes to pierce the
pipe insertion holes in the cap.

(1) Select [MENU] - [#Adjust] - [External Supply Unit] - [Num.
of tanks].
(2) Set [Num. of tanks].
All: Uses two tanks for each color.
Half: Uses only one tank for each color.

Removal of 10kg ink supply pipe
Remove the supply pipe where 2L Ink is placed.
1. Remove the Supply top plate. (P4*10SMW Screw x4)
2. Remove the 10kg ink supply pipe from the mounting hole of
10kg Ink supply unit.
Be sure to wear safety glasses and working gloves during the operation. Depending on the work
condition, there is a risk that ink gets into your eyes, or your hand skin may get rough when you
touch the ink.
When using an ink (Fp / Fy / Lk) in which the 10kg ink tank is not set, install the Conversion to 2L Ink
unit (OPT-J0494).
