MICROPHONE INPUT MODULE
MMT1 MODULE
FUNCTION
MODULE TO CONNECT A STANDARD MICROPHONE IN ORDER TO SEND MESSAGES
TO PREFIXED ZONES INDEPENDENTLY OF THE MAIN CONSOLE (FOR INSTANCE, A
HALL, A SCHOOL OUTDOOR AREA, ETC...) USING THE SAME SOUND SYSTEM.
DESCRIPTION
To send a message through this microphone, either the “ON” button must be pushed ” or
it must be done remotely through the “ON REMOTE” input. During the time that the
switch is “ON”, the message bus is busy. Only can be stopped by a higher priority message.
The spoken message can respect or not respect the priority system. If the module is
configured to use the priority system then the hierarchy of the priorities and the zone
structure are kept (the microphone signal will attenuate the BGM) . If it is configured
without priorities (BGA), the microphone signal will be added to the BGM signal and will be
attenuated together with it when a spoken message or alarm is activated.
It has a tone control designed specially to improve the intelligibility in deficient acoustic
installations. The level control is associated with a double colour LED to improve the level
adjustment. (The LED must be green and not red).
Internally configurable input sensibility by JUMPERS to be adapted to different
microphones (dynamic, gooseneck, wireless, etc...).

CONNECTING THE MMT1
In order to connect this module, you should follow the steps indicated on the figure of the next page:
 Choose an operating mode with the jumper marked with nr.1: This module can act respecting the priority and zone system
(ALAR) or as BGA.
ATTENTION: There can be only one module acting as BGA. Remember that in order to work in this mode you must remove
all of the zone assignment and priority jumpers.
 If you decide the module to work in ALAR. mode, select now its priority. To do that, you will have to place two PRIORITY
jumpers according to the priority you wish this module to have. (indication nr.2 of the figure on next page). For example:
To set the priority to 3, place the two jumpers at positions J105 and J108.
ATTENTION: There can be only one module with Priority 1. Remember that every module containing
PRIORITY
information must be installed on the same chassis.

 If you configure the module to operate in ALAR. mode, define now the zones to which the message has to be sent by means
of the jumpers highlighted in nr.3. For example: If you wish the module to act in zones 3 and 5, insert two jumpers at
position J111 and J119.
 Set the microphones input sensibility with the jumper marked with nr.4: ATT -30 dBv /1K8Ohm ; NOT ATT -50dBv
/1K8Ohm.
 Insert and screw the module and the chassis together in the front and back panels.
 Connect the data buses (Flat 10- and 20-way cables) to the connectors marked with nr.5 in the figure on next page.
 Link together the front and back panel. In this case you will have to connect following connector pair marked with nr. 6:
J123-TS101.
 Once the complete installation of one or various chassis and the peripherals connections to ENVIRO has been carried out,
you should adjust the volume of this module so that the
SIGNAL LEVEL
LED lights up green while talking normally. As the
final step in the modules configuration, you may wish to adjust the tone controls.
