NOTE:
On receipt, check that the refrigerator has not been damaged during transport. If there is any
damage, notify the supplier.
If this refrigerator is replacing a larger one which is going to be scrapped, remove the door
before disposal to prevent children from becoming trapped inside.
The appliance does not contain any CFCs/HCFCs.
Sodium chromate is used for corrosion protection (less than 2 weight % of the coolant).
In case if your refrigerator is equipped with lock, dometic do not accept liabil-ity for loss or
damage of keys. However we would be happy to aupply a com-plete lock and key
replacement.
RECYCLING
After unpacking the appliance, the packing materials should be delivered to a local collection
site. At the end of its useful lifetime, the appliance should be delivered to a specialized
collection and reprocessing firm, which reclaims the usable materials. The rest is properly
destroyed.
RECOMMENDATION: Clean the refrigerator before using it. Refer to chapter "Cleaning".
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS (Fig.1)
The refrigerator is equipped with an absorbtion cooling unit which is completely silent in
operation. It is designed for free-standing installation but can be built in If the following
instructions are observed. In order to ensure perfect operation and maximum cooling
efficiency of the appliance, the following conditions must be strictly complied with:
1) sufficient supply of fresh air from below;
2) good heat dissipation above the cooling unit, free from obstruction;
3) stable, level position of the refrigerator.
If the appliance is to be built in, please ensure that it can be removed if necessary without
damaging the surrounding fitments.
The refrigerator must be positioned far enough into the fitment for the entire unit to project into
the air duct. In general the more air openings that are provided the better it is for the appliance
performance, however in all case the described 2.25" top clearance opening must be
observed regardless of all possible other supplementary openings. Ventilation must not be
obstructed by a radiator, television or any other source of heat.
Two refrigerators should not be built in, one on top of the other, unless separate ventilation is
provided for each.
DOOR HANG
The position you select for your refrigerator may make it necessary to reverse the door hang.
If this is the case refer to chapter "Reversing the door hang".
DOOR GRIP
For attaching the provided door grip to the door, see fig. 6

OPERATION
CONNECTING TO THE MAINS
The appliance must only be connected to the mains by means of an earthed socket which has
been installed in accordance with the regulations. Before connecting up, check that the
voltage on the data label (in the top left of the inside compartment) Is compatible with the
mains supply.
Do not cut or remove the grounding prong from this plug. Extension cords should not be used!
SWITCHING ON
To switch on the refrigerator, plug it into the socket and turn the thermostat (in the inside
compartment) to position 2 or 3 in normal ambient temperatures.
The appliance will be cool in about one hour. As the refrigerator is equipped with an
absorption cooling unit which is completely silent in operation, you will not hear any noise
when the refrigerator is switched on.
The temperature inside the refrigerator is affected by location, room temperature, kind of
foodstuffing and too frequent openning of the door.
Adjustment of the thermostat dial may therefore be necessary.
TEMPERATURE CONTROL
The cooling capacity can be adjusted by means of the thermostat.
0 = cooling is switched off, from 1 - 5 the temperature decreases. When the thermostat is at
a medium setting (2 or 3) and the ambient temperature is normal, the temperature inside the
refrigerator is between 0°C and 7°C.
USING THE REFRIGERATOR
The refrigerator provides sufficient storage space for most kinds of food, milk, drinks, etc.
Two can be used together to form a fulldepth shelf or they can be used sepa-rately, leaving
space at the front for bottles and other larger items.
Ideally all foods should be in covered containers or plastic bags or wrapped in foil or plastic
film. Liquids should also be covered. This is to prevent flavours passing from one item to
another and also to reduce frost build-up on the cooling surfaces due to moisture coming from
stored items.
CAUTION:
Do not keep any easily combustible substances such as ether, petrol, adhesive,
propane gas etc. in the refrigerator as this could cause an explosion!
ICE CUBES
Fill the ice tray to 4/5 with fresh drinking water, and place the ice tray on the ice-tray shelf.
Wipe off any excess water to prevent the ice tray from freezing to the surface.
To speed up the making of ice cubes, turn the thermostat to position 5 for a short while.
Remember to turn the dial to its normal setting when the ice cubes are frozen.
To remove the cubes from the ice tray, hold it under running water. The ice cubes can now be
taken out easily.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
DEFROSTING
Frost will gradually form on the cooling surfaces and it must not be allowed to become too
thick since it impairs the cooling efficiency of the refrigerator.
Check the formation of frost regularly and defrost the refrigerator if the layer of frost is thicker
than 6 mm.
The applicance is fitted a fully automatic defrosting system.
AUTOMATIC DEFROSTING
This frost-formation is kept back by the FUZZY LOGIC system bult into the appliance by
switching off the unit for two hours in every 24 hours.
DEFROST WATER
During the defrosting process the water rums through a hose into a container on the back of
the refrigerator where it evaporates-
This container does not need to be emptied.
CLEANING
Cleand the inside of your refrigerator regularly to keep it fresh and hygienic. Switch off the
appliance and pull out the plug. Clean the interior and fittings carefully with a mild detergent
in lukewarm water.
Never use acidic, abrasive or strong-smelling detergents or wax polishes as these will
damage the surfaces and leave an unpleasant smell.
The outside should occasionally be dusted or wiped over with a damp cloth. The door seal
should only be cleaned with water and rubbed down with talcum powder from time to time.
If possible, the unit should also be dusted occasionally with a brush or a vacuum cleaner.
Ensure that the plug is disconnected when doing this.
LONGER PERIODS OF ABSENCE
If you wish to switch off the appliance for a longer period of time, pull out the plug, defrost the
refrigerator and clean it carefully. Leave the door open to prevent unpleasant odours from
forming.
RESERVING THE DOOR HANG (fig. 2)
Lay the appliance on its back. Remove the 8 screws (1). Remove the door, together with the
two hinges (2), from the housing.
Remove the two cover caps (3) from the housing and place them in the open hinge holes in
the housing. Place the bottom righthand hinge in the top left of the door and the top righthand
hinge in the bottom left of the door and hang the door on its hinges in the open cover cap

holes in the housing. Secure the hinges and cover caps with the 8 screws.
Check that the door closes easily and is sealed properly.
REPLACING THE DECORATIVE DOOR PANEL (fig. 3-5)
Remove the two screws (1) from the upper hinge of the door.
Pull the door together with the hinge away from the housing and up off the lower hinge bolt
(2-3).
Remove screws (4) and pull off the frame edge (5).
Slide the decorative panel (6) out of the door frame and insert the new panel (7), so that the
upper edge of the panel runs exactly parallel to the upper edge of the frame. A new panel can
be inserted more easily into the upper edge of the frame when the two comers are cut off by
approx. 5 x 5 mm (8). Put the frame edge (5) back in place and secure with screws (4).
Place the door on the lower hinge (9), slot the upper hinge into the opening, press together
with the door against the housing and secure with the two screws (11).
CHANGING THE LIGHTBULB
If the lightbulb needs to be changed, pull out the plug and proceed as follows:
Press the metal reflector to one side and draw the lamp covering backwards. Replace the bulb
and push the covering back into place.
A new 10-watt bulb can be obtained at any Dometic service shop.
Changing the feet
Should you wish to install your miniCool, you will not need the 1,57 feet. After having removed
the 1,57 feet, you can then re-attach the 0,47 feet, located inside the 1,57 feet, to the front
and rear fixing points. The 1,57 feet and the 4 remaining screws should be retained for future
use.
TROUBLE-SHOOTING
Before you call a service engineer, carry out the following simple tests:
Is there a power failure? Check the fuses.
Is the plug firmly connected to the socket and is the socket switched on? Check the socket
by plugging in another appliance, eg a table lamp.
Is the thermostat at the correct setting? (normally 2 or 3).
Has the door not been closed properly causing the inside temperature to rise too quickly?
Is the refrigerator level ?
Has the ventilation become obstructed?
This refrigerator is equipped with overheating protection. An authorised service technician
can check whether this has been triggered or not.
If after checking all the above points, the refrigerator is still not working satisfactorily, contact
your nearest service engineer. State the problem, model, product- and serialnumber.
(Details of the model, product- and serialnumber are to be found on the data label in the top
left of the inside compartment.)
IMPORTANT ADVICE
Do
-
make sure that drinks and food, particularly those with a strong smell, are closed tightly or
well packed;
-
close the door properly after use. The door should only be left open a little when the
refrigerator is switched off;
-
defrost the refrigerator regularly.
Do not
-
use sharp objects to remove the frost layer or free the ice tray; - obstruct the airflow on or
above the cooling unit;
-
