New Parameter for Configurable Contact Header Matching
When sending SIP packets, the IP Phones observe the Contact header by matching the username,
domain name, port, and transport per SIP RFC 3261.This is called “strict SIP Contact header
matching.” However, in specific networks (such as behind some SOHO routers), the phone
registers with its private address in the Contact, but when the response is sent back, the router
maintains the public side IP address in the Contact header. This causes a non-matching Contact
header and the phone does not accept the new registration expiry timer.
A new parameter, “sip contact matching”, now allows the Administrator to specify the method
used by the phone to match the Contact Header. This parameter is available via the configuration
files only.
Configuring the Contact Header Matching
Parameter
sip contact matching
Configuration Files aastra.cfg, <mac>.cfg
Description Specifies the method for which the phone uses to match the Contact
header in a SIP registration packet.
Format Integer
Default Value 0
Range 0 (default) URI matching of username, hostport (domain name and
port), and transport
1 matching of domain name and port only
2 matching of username only
3 matching of port and username only
4 matching of domain name, port, and username only
Example sip contact matching: 1

Support for XML Phone Execute Keypress Simulation
An Administrator can now use the AastraIPPhoneExecute object in an XML application to
simulate a keypress on the phone. Only the physical hard keys can be simulated. The softkeys that
display on the screen cannot be simulated (e.g. Softkey 1).
Example
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
<AastraIPPhoneExecute>
<ExecuteItem URI="Key: Keypad0"/>
</AastraIPPhoneExecute>
The above example simulates the keypress of the “0” key on the phone’s keypad.
For more information about the XML API objects, see Aastra's XML Developers Guide.
Support for XML Scripts Overriding Native Features
An Administrator can now assign an XML script to specific keys, overriding the native key
feature. You can enter the following new parameters in the configuration file to assign the
applicable XML script to specific keys:
Example
You can enter the following line in the configuration files (aastra.cfg or MAC.cfg):
callers list script: http://myserver.com/myscript.php
The above example replaces the native behavior of the “Callers” button with an external XML
script.
For more information about the XML API objects, see Aastra's XML Developers Guide.

Support for Multiple Input Fields in AastraIPPhoneInputScreen Object
An Administrator can now use the AastraIPPhoneInputScreen object in an XML application to
input more than one field (up to a limit of 6).
Example
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
<AastraIPPhoneInputScreen type="string" destroyOnExit="yes"
displayMode="condensed">
<Title>Restricted application</Title>
<URL>http://myserver.com/myxml.php </URL>
<InputField type="empty"/>
<InputField type="string">
<Prompt>Username:</Prompt>
<Parameter>user</Parameter>
</InputField>
<InputField type="string" password="yes">
<Prompt>Password:</Prompt>
<Parameter>pass</Parameter>
</InputField>
</AastraIPPhoneInputScreen>
The above example displays a screen with two input fields (username and password). After
entering "XXXX" for the username and "YYYY" for the password, and then the user presses
<Submit>, the phone performs an HTTP GET on the following URI:
http://myserver.com/myxml.php?user=XXXX&pass=YYYY
For more information about the XML API objects, see Aastra's XML Developers Guide.
Note: This new feature for the AastraIPPhoneInputScreen is now equivalent to the
AastraIPPhoneInputScreen feature in Release 2.5.x firmware; only field custom
softkeys are not supported.

Support for the AastraIPPhoneFormattedTextScreen Object
The AastraIPPhoneFormattedTextScreen object allows you to specify a format for the text that
displays on the LCD screen on the phone. Using this object, you can specify the following for the
text that displays:
alignment (using the "Align" attribute and specifying right, left, or center)
text size (using the "Size" attribute and specifying the font size which can be small, normal,
double or large)
text color (using the "Color" attribute and specifying the color name)
display type (using the "Line" or "Scroll" attributes to specify static or scrolling)
Example
The following is an example of using the AastraIPPhoneFormattedTextScreen object with a static
line at the top and bottom blocks and two scrolling lines in the middle block.
<AastraIPPhoneFormattedTextScreen>
<Line Size="large" Align="center" Color="red">A line of static text</Line>
<Scroll>
<Line Align="right"> Scrolling text</Line>
<Line>Another line of Scrolling Text</Line>

Support for the AastraIPPhoneStatus Object
The IP phones support an XML AastraIPPhoneStatus object for displaying status messages on
the phone's idle screen. The messages display when the server pushes XML information to the
phone.
On the 6739i, the status messages display in a "box" on the idle screen which is also used by the
phone to display the missed calls. The user can scroll between messages (if more than one) using
the RIGHT and LEFT arrow keys on the side of the status "box". The AastraIPPhoneStatus
object feature is always enabled.
Examples
Example 1: The following is an example of using the AastraIPPhoneStatus object:
<AastraIPPhoneStatus>
<Session>abc12345</Session>
<Message index="3">Call forwarding Activated</Message>
<AastraIPPhoneStatus/>
In this example, the AastraIPPhoneStatus object sends the default behavior with the status
message (i.e., the status message is added to the scroll list).
Example 2: You can also use the AastraIPPhoneStatus object to remove status messages from
the display, by setting an empty tag for the <Message index> tag. The following example
removes the status message that was posted to the phone in Example 1.
<AastraIPPhoneStatus>
<Session>abc12345</Session>
<Message index="3"/>
<AastraIPPhoneStatus/>
For more information about the XML API objects, see Aastra's XML Developers Guide.
Note: The AastraIPPhoneStatus object on the 6739i is now equivalent to the
AastraIPPhoneStatus feature in Release 2.5.x firmware.

Issues Resolved in Release 3.0.1
This section describes the issues resolved on the 6739i IP Phone in Release 3.0.1. The following
table provides the issue number and a brief description of each fix.
Release 3.0.1
Issue Number Description of Fix
User Interface
*
CLN20521 When persistent TLS is configured on the phone, in some call scenarios, the Transport Layer
Security (TLS)/Secure Real-Time Transfer Protocol (SRTP) Key Icon displays when it shouldn't (RTP
used) or does not display when it should (SRTP used).
This has been corrected.
DEF18960 Previously, when in the Directory, after pressing the Goodbye key, the screen displayed the Options
screen.
Now after pressing the Goodbye key when in the Directory, the idle screen displays as expected.
DEF19345 After configuring multiple speeddial softkeys using different Lines, pressing any of those speeddial
softkeys now work as expected.
DEF19947 Previously, when in a 3-way conference, and the caller who began the conference hangs up, the
screen name no longer displayed in the top left corner of the LCD.
Now the screen name information displays as expected when you leave a conference.
DEF19948 Previously in the Aastra Web UI, when you changed the “Screen Name” parameter and clicked
<Save>, the IP Phone UI screen name changed dynamically on the main display area but the screen
name in the top left corner did not change.
This has been corrected. Changing the “Screen Name” and “Screen Name 2” parameters in the
Aastra Web UI now dynamically update the IP Phone UI as applicable on the idle screen and in the
title bar while on a call.
DEF20062 Previously, in the IP Phone UI, the Time Zone menu displayed two icons labeled as "Pacific".
This has been corrected and only one instance of “Pacific” now displays in the Time Zone menu.
ENH18344 When using the Directory and navigating to a number, picking up the handset now automatically dials
out the displayed number. Pressing the Line key dials out the displayed number using the specified
line. Pressing the Speakerphone key dials out the displayed number using the specified line. The
Line’s audio path is dependent on the Audio Mode set on the phone.
SIP
DEF18171 When a phone was configured to use a third party BLA, the registration for the third party line as well
as the generic line worked properly. The phones registered successfully. However, when the Sylantro
server sent a SUBSCRIBE to the third party BLA, the phone ignored that SUBSCRIBE and BLA
never initiated. Pressing the BLA line hung the phone.
This has been corrected and the phone now accepts the SUBSCRIBE from the Sylantro server and
BLA works properly.
Issues Resolved in Release 3.0.1
RN-001037-00 Rev 02, Release 3.0.1 13
SIP IP Phone Model 6739i Release Note 3.0.1
DEF19560 When an intercom call is put on hold on the phone and the phone sends a re-INV to the Broadsoft
server, no messages are received from the server. As a result, call hold fails and the phone does not
hang up the intercom call. The phone ignores the Goodbye key. The server must disconnect in order
to hang up the call on the phone.
This has been corrected. When an intercom call is on hold and the phone sends a re-INV, the held
call now hangs up as expected.
DEF19724 When a User configured more than one BLA account on the phone, the second BLA account never
subscribed.
This is now corrected. You can now configure more than one BLA account on the phone.
DEF19990 When a softkey type on the phone or expansion module was changed to Busy Lamp Field (BLF), the
phone would freeze.
This is now corrected. The phone no longer freezes when setting a softkey to BLF.
DEF20004 When lines on the phone were changed from Shared Call Appearance (SCA) phone lines to generic
phone lines, the SCA lines did not unsubscribe.
This is now corrected and the lines unsubscribe when applicable.
DEF20013 For BLA lines, when a call was made from the phone using the speakerphone (handset was in the
cradle), and then the caller lifted and hung up the handset to terminate the original call before the
destination answered. Intermittently, the phone would reboot.
This has been corrected and the phone no longer reboots during this scenario.
DEF20021 For phones using Broadsoft servers, when the phone was set to the audio mode of “headset”,
comm-pilot assisted outbound calls were answered on the speakerphone instead of the headset.
This has been corrected. The phone now uses the correct audio mode set on the phone.
DEF20022 After the phone is registered and a call is made to a remote phone, if you place the call on hold and
then take the call off hold, the phones sends an INVITE with a “Replaces Header”. If you attempt to
make another call between the phones, the call fails.
This has been corrected.
ENH20222 The 6739i IP Phone now has support for BLF Directed Call Pickup using the “Replaces Header.”
The following example shows how this feature works.
Example
1 Phone A and B and C register with the registration server.
2 Phone A has a BLF key to monitor Phone B.
3 Directed call pickup (DCP) is also enabled on Phone A.
4 Phone C calls Phone B. Phone B starts ringing.
5 On Phone A, the BLF key for Phone B begins flashing, and the User presses the BLF key.
6 Phone A sends an INVITE with a “Replaces Header” to the server.
DEF20269 During a BLA call, when a caller picked up a call on the phone, the phone sent a NOTIFY with
Unicode in the message body. Since the phone only accepts the UTF-8 chararcter set, the NOTIFY
was unrecognizable and the BLA call failed for other shared parties.
This has been corrected.
Issue Number Description of Fix
Issues Resolved in Release 3.0.1
14 RN-001037-00 Rev 02, Release 3.0.1
IP Phone Release Notes 3.0.1 Beta 2
DEF20277 When configuring a 1st party and 3rd Party Bridged Line Appearance (BLA) on the phone, and then
you reboot the phone, the phone sends a NOTIFY to the first server for subscription, but does not
send a NOTIFY to the server for the resubscription.
This has been corrected. The NOTIFY is now sent for subscription and resubscription as expected.
DEF20695 During an outbound call from the Broadsoft server, after the far end is answered and the local 6739i
puts the call on hold, the local phone receives a NOTIFY hold from the server and the phone rejects
the NOTIFY message.
This has been corrected.
Usability
CLN20724 The phone went into a “No Service” state after DNS error responses were received. The phone
previously registered properly but then the “No Service” message displayed.
This has been corrected.
DEF18486 The "Switch UI Focus to Ringing Line" parameter was removed from the 6739i Aastra Web UI (at
the location Basic Settings->Preferences->General) since this functionality is no longer required for
that phone.
The 6739i phone has an incoming call pop-up with all required information that displays on the
phone’s screen and allows the User to select the line for which to answer the call.
DEF18942 In some instances, the phone failed to find a Bluetooth headset when the Bluetooth search sequence
was selected.
This has been corrected. The phone finds all instances of B luetooth headsets and displays them
after a search is complete.
DEF19420 While a phone was ringing during an incoming call, the User adjusted the volume down or up. Then
the phone stopped ringing.
This has been corrected.
DEF19592 When a call was forwarded from the phone, the display did not show all the transfer information on
the screen.
The phone now displays all the relative information associated with the call that is being call
forwarded.
DEF20026 When the phone’s audio is set for headset/speaker, the primary audio should be headset and the
secondary audio should be speaker (vice versa for audio setting of speaker/headset). However, in
some instances when the phone was not idle, the phone switched back to using the primary audio.
This has been corrected and the audio on the phone works properly.
DEF20047 After pressing the speaker key or lifting the handset, you get a dial tone on the line. The dial tone in
pre-dial mode stops when the phone receives an incoming call. Also, the phone doesn't ring after you
hang up the phone.
This has been corrected.
DEF20077 During a Bluetooth search on the phone, the results returned duplicate entries of the same Bluetooth
device.
This has been corrected. The phone now displays only one instance of each Bluetooth device.

DEF20323
If transferring a call from the local phone when the audio is set to “Mute”, the Mute indicator on the
screen is red and the Mute Key LED flashes, but the audio at the receiving end is still heard. For
example, Phone A calls Phone B, places the call on “Mute”, then transfers the call to Phone C. On
the local phone, the Mute indicator on the screen is red and the Mute Key LED flashes, but when
Phone C picks up, Phone A can hear the audio from Phone C.
The same senario happens when creating a conference from the 6739i phone. If Phone A terminates
without creating the conference, the active audio at Phone C is transmitted to Phone A even though
Phone A is set to “Mute”.
This has been corrected. The Mute Key keeps the audio on mute during transfer and conferencing.
DEF20586 When calling from the local phone to a remote phone, after the remote phone picks up and the local
phone places the call on “Hold”, the remote phone reboots.
This has been corrected. Placing a call on hold no longer causes the remote phone to reboot.
XML
DEF19995 The value for the AastraIPPhoneInputScreen type object allowed you to enter a day of up to 59.
Entering “60” resulted in an invalid date error.
The range values for this object are now 1 through 12.
DEF20078 Previously, the phone would not reboot until the XML phone application in focus timed out.
This has been corrected. The phone now reboots faster within an XML text screen.
DEF20641 XML applications on the phone were not displaying UTF-8 characters correctly on the screen.
This has been corrected. The UTF-8 characters now display correctly.
DEF20665 XML dialing from the red phone icon was not working when the phone had an active call.
This has been corrected. You can now press the red phone icon to dial an XML URL during an active
call.
DEF20669 In an XML display, the phone was sending the correct default date, but the date that displayed was
incorrect.
This has been corrected. All XML messages display the date in the correct format.
DEF20696 The URL configured for the registered Action URI was not called when the phone registered.
This has been corrected. The URL for the Action URI is now called when the phone registers.
DEF20698 The HTTP GET performed by the phone and triggered by an Action URI was not URL-encoded.
This has been corrected. The HTTP GET now supports URL-encoding.
