1. Functions of the
WindGuide Plus
The basic functions of the
WindGuide Plus are
measurements of Wind (Air)
Speed, Temperature, Wind Chill
Factor, Humidity, Barometric
Pressure and Altitude. You can
also check the Date and Time
and choose HOLD, MAX or MIN
for the measurement functions.
A Backlight feature can be used
in the dark and an Auto Off fea-
ture is standard.
2. Initial Set Up
To activate open battery door
and pull the tab out. Replace
door and turn power off.
While the unit is off, press
and hold down (for a few sec-
onds) and press to enter the
mode of your initialization set-
tings.
2.1 Set the Date and Time
Date display = Day: Month: Year
(e.g., 25:10:12)
Time display = Hour: Minute:
Second (e.g.,23:35:45)
First set the date – a default
date will display on the screen. Press to adjust the day, and press
to confirm after each adjustment – day/month/year.
After the date is set, the unit automatically goes to the Time setting.
Note: The time display is only available in a 24 hour format. Set the
hour/minutes/seconds using the button, and press to confirm after
each setting.
2.2 Set Wind/Air speed units = m/s (meters per second), mph (miles
per hour), fps (feet per second), km/h (kilometers per hour), knots –
wind conversions readily available on the Internet
The default is m/s. Press to find the desired unit and press to
confirm.
2.3 Set the Temperature unit setting of ºC or ºF. Press to find the
desired unit and press to confirm
2.4 Set Humidity = the humidity is a fixed measurement showing per-
centage of relative humidity. Press to proceed to the next setting
2.5 Set Barometer units = barometric pressure can be measured with
inHg (inches of
mercury) or hPa (hectopascals). Press to find the desired unit and
press to confirm
2.6 Set Altitude = choose m (meters) or ft (feet). Press to find the
desired unit and press to confirm.
The WindGuide Plus turns off automatically after all the settings are com-
plete.
The settings you have made will remain valid until you change the
settings or the battery is replaced. When replacing the battery, you will
have to reset all the settings.
3. Operating the WindGuide Plus
After the Initial Set Up is complete, you can now operate the WindGuide
Plus.
3.1 Press to switch the unit on
3.2 Display a desired function
Press for 3 seconds to choose from Wind/Air Speed Temperature
Wind Chill (the felt air temperature on exposed skin due to the
wind) Humidity. Press repeatedly until the desired function dis-
plays on the LCD screen.
Press for 3 seconds to choose from Time Barometric Pressure
Altitude. Press repeatedly until the desired
function displays on the LCD screen.
3.3 Hold the current reading and display the MAX and MIN value.
Hold the current reading at any time by pressing . Press again to
display the MAX and MIN value since the unit was turned on.
Note: The MAX and MIN values will not be kept in the unit’s memory
once it goes off.
3.4 Date – can be seen momentarily when turning the unit on
3.5 Backlight
Press and at the same time for 3 seconds to turn the backlight on.
It will shut off automatically after 20 seconds.
3.6 Turn the unit off
Auto Shut Off = the unit goes off automatically after
5 minutes idle.
Manually = Press and at the same time for 6 seconds.

5. Battery
The condition of the CR2032 battery is shown on the top left of the LCD screen when getting low. To change the battery, use a coin (or small
slotted tool) to remove the battery cover and change the battery with the “+” facing you. Put the battery door back on.
