Warranty Terms & Conditions
1. TEAC warrants to the original retail purchaser only, that this product is free from defects in material and
workmanship under normal domestic use and authorises free service during the warranty period at any TEAC
Authorised Centre only. TEAC warranty only applies to products purchased, used and serviced in Australia.
2. Subject to the terms herein, this warranty effectively covers the equipment as specified in the Warranty Periods
Table from the date of purchase.
3. All parts, except the external cabinet, are warranted as specified in Warranty Periods Table, and will be repaired or
replaced at the sole judgement of TEAC.
4. Normal customer maintenance as described in the owner’s manual is not covered by this warranty (such as cleaning
VCR heads etc.)
5. This warranty does not apply to equipment showing abuse, damage or that it may have been tampered with, altered
or repaired outside any TEAC Authorised Service Centre. If so, the warranty will be void.

6. In the event that this unit or any defective parts must be returned to TEAC Service Centres, a copy of this warranty
certificate and of your purchase receipt must be enclosed to be a valid warranty. Such equipment or parts must be
sent freight prepaid to the nearest authorised TEAC Service Centre. After the repair, the unit will be available for
collection by the owner or it will be returned to the owner. The warranty does not cover freight or insurance. In all
cases of in-transit damages or loss, a claim must be filed against the carrier by the purchaser.
7. No one is authorised to assume any liability on behalf of TEAC or impose any obligation on it, in connection with
the sale of any equipment other than as stated in this warranty and outlined above.
8. In no event will TEAC be responsible or liable for indirect or consequential damages from interrupted operations or
other causes.

Please read these instructions carefully and do accordingly.
TV set requires adequate ventilation. If you place the set near walls, leave sufficient space (15cm) on all sides so that
the air can circulate freely. The ventilation slots at the rear of the set can not be covered by curtains, newspapers or any
other similar objects.
Do not expose the TV set to direct sunlight or place it near radiator and other similar sources of heat.
TV sets are intended for use in dry rooms. If you wish to use it occasionally outdoors, be sure to protect it against any
kind of moisture (rain,splashes, dew and etc.).
Do not put metal and combustibles into the TV through the rear slots to avoid possible fire or shock hazard.
Do not place water(or any other kind of liquid)-containing vessel on the set.
Do not step on or twist the power cord. A damaged cord may cause fire or shock hazard.
Keep any magnetic object away from the TV as far as possible.
If there is a lightning storm coming, unplug the TV set and the outdoor antenna.
If any abnormal phenomenon

Before calling the service personnel, please check the list below to fix some simple problems not caused by the unit itself.
Check these things
Be sure the power cord is plugged in.
The sound volume is adjusted to the minimal or in mute position.
May be pulse interference from nearby cars, motorcycles, electric trains, high
tension lines, neon signs, hair dryers, etc.
May be radio interference f
or
m nearby TV receivers, personal computers,
and TV games, or radio station.
May be due to broadcast waves reflected from nearby mounts and high buildings.
Check if the direction of aerial has been deflected because of strong wind, etc.
The aerial lead-in may be broken or disconnected.

To Connect With Terrestrial Signal Source
To enjoy the terrestrial signal transmitted by your local TV station, you need an indoor or outdoor aerial (not supplied). Perfect
picture quality requires a good signal and generally means that an outdoor aerial must be implemented. The exact type and
location of the aerial will depend on your particular area. Consult your local dealer or service personnel for best advice.
If you are a subscriber of your local CATV net, the outdoor or indoor aerial is not needed.
Connect the equipments as in the following figure.

1.Slide or lift the battery cover from back of remote control.
2.Insert two batteries (1.5V) matching the +/- polarity of the
battery to the +/- marks inside the battery compartment.
3.Close the battery cover by doing reversely to step 1.
Install the unit where sunlight will not fall upon the screen directly.
Total dark environment or a reflection on the picture screen may cause eyestrain. Soft indirect lighting is recommended
for comfortable viewing.
Allow enough space between the unit and the wall for proper ventilation.
Avoid excessively warm locations to prevent possible damage to the cabinet or components.

Basic operation
Power/Standby on/off
To power up the TV, press the power switch located on the bottom-right of the cabinet. The power indicator
lights red and the last viewed program appears. If the power indicator lights up but no picture appears, the
TV may be in standby mode.
To turn the TV on, you can do the following:
1.Press the standby key on handset to get into the last viewed program.
2.Press one of Numerical keys on handset to get into the selected program.
3.Press the CH+/CH- keys on front panel of TV.
When the TV is on, press the standby key to swap the TV to standby mode or press power switch to power
it off completely.
Note:
1. If a power failure occurs when the TV is on, press the power switch to cut off from the power supply to
avoid possible hazard to the TV which may be caused by a high voltage pulse when the power supply restores.
2.The TV set has AUTO SWITCH OFF function, which cause the TV to standby mode after about 15 minutes
of no incoming signal and no operation.
3.Standby mode: Use to turn off TV for a short period of time. If you do not intend to use the TV for a long
period of time it is best to turn it off from the power switch on the television set.
Selecting the program
Directly selecting
To select a one-digit number program, press the digit key to display"-" and then input the number directly with
one of the numeric keys(0-9).
When the number is between 10 and 99, press the digit key to display "--" and then input two numbers with the
numeric keys.
When the number is between 100 and 199, press the digit key to display "---" and then input two numbers with
the numeric keys.
Note:
When you are in multi-digit mode(the display is "--")and the digits are not fulfilled(for example, "2_","12_" ),
the channel will not be changed.
Sequentially selecting
Press the CH+/CH- keys to select the next higher/lower program.
Adjusting the volume
Press the VOL+/VOL- key to adjust the volume.

Muting the sound
MUTE
The muting function is useful and convenient when you need to pay attention to surrounding sounds,
answer a phone call, receive a visitor, etc.
Press the mute key to mute the sound and cancel the mute by pressing it again.
Note: (when in muting)
1.Press the V+ key also can cancel the mute.
2.Press the V- key volume will be turn down in muting.
Alternating
ALT.
Press the ALT. key to go back to the program that you've just been watching before the current one.
By pressing it repeatedly, you can alternate between your two favorite programs.
Calling up on screen display
CALL
Press the CALL key to show the current program number on the top-right of the screen.
Press the CALL key again to clear it .
Whenever you want to clear the undesired OSD, press the CALL key.
Selecting the picture mode
P.MODE
The TV set provides four modes for instant selection by touching P.MODE key.

DYNAMIC
MILD
The STANDARD MILD and DYNAMIC settings can't be adjusted by the user. The PERSONAL setting can be
customized by selecting your personal preference in the Brightness, Color and contrast.
Each time the P.MODE key is pressed, the picture is displayed in one of the above four modes sequentially.

The program you enjoy can come from terrestrial signal(via aerial input socket)

Press the CH+/CH- keys to select the desired item and activate it with the V+/V- keys.
The items in this Time menu are explained in detail as follows.
'SLEEP', you can set the SLEEP timer to turn off the TV set automatically. The time
period can be adjusted from 0 up to 120 minutes in 15 minutes steps.
'TIME', please set TIME to the current time. This will be used as a reference for all timing functions.
'ON TIME', set ON TIME if you want to turn on automatically the TV at a specific time.
'OFF TIME', set OFF TIME to turn off the unit automatically.
'ATTENTION', the ATTENTION function displays a reminder. The message "ATTENTION" will display at the set time.
'PROG. TIMER ', it allows to change automatically to a different channel at a convenient time, for example when a
program of interest is about to start in another channel.
'POSITION', set POSITION to indicate the desired program number for the PROGRAM TIMER.

'CORING', CORING is used to reduce picture noise when set on.
'CALENDAR', allows access to a permanent calendar. You can use CH+/CH- keys to
select the ' 'year' ', ' 'month' ' and' 'day' '. Press VOL-/VOL+ keys to change.
'GAME1', single out ' 'money' ' from six things. Press CALL key to exit game and press ALT. key to restart game.
'GAME2', guess 888. Press CALL key to exit game and press ALT. key to restart game.

After entering the game, please use V+/V- keys to move the man horizontally; the ALT. key can be used as the pause
key before the game is over, after the game is over, this key becomes the restart key. When it's paused, press the ALT.
Key to restart; press CALL key to exit. All other keys do not work in the state of game except POWER SWITCH. There
are six objects falling down: money bags, coins, snow flakes, crosses, hearts, and bombs. You get 10 credits by
receiving one money bag and 5 credits for one coin. Credits will be added up automatically when it's over. At the start,
the man is green, it becomes white, while receiving snow flake(being frozen) and the moving speed ( left and right)
slows down. This state will be cleared up if a cross is received. It is over if the bomb is received and the figure becomes
red. Receiving Heart, the figure gets purple which lasts 5 seconds during which the game is not over even with receiving
a bomb.
After entering the game, Press ALT. key to start and CALL key to exit.
All other keys do not work in the state of Game except POWER SWITCH.
You get one gold coin by getting one 8 out of 3 numbers, two gold coins by
getting identical numbers which are not 8 , three gold coins by getting two 8 s,
four gold coins by getting three sequential numbers(e.g. 123 , 321 ), and five
gold coins if the numbers are all the same.

Press MENU key to call up Preset menu as shown right:
The items in this Preset menu are explained in detail as follows.
'POSITION', presents the number of the current program.
'REMEMBER', is used to disable the current program, if unwanted, when changing channels with CH+/CH- keys .
'BAND', use BAND to select frequency band location of a channel for SEMI-SEARCH tuning.
'FINE TUNING', use FINE TUNING to improve image and sound quality under poor reception conditions.
'SEMI-SEARCH', SEMI-SEARCH can be used to manually tune in individual channels to a specific program number.
This function can also be used if tuning in a VCR.
'AUTO-SEARCH', the AUTO-SEARCH function will tune in automatically all channels available in your area.
Press V+ to start this process.
Note:
Please set COLOUR to AUTO and SOUND to 5.5M before starting AUTO-SEARCH.

watching hours by children.
This function is password protected.
The initial password is '0000' and it can be
changed following the procedure described
in the diagram. Please keep the new password
in a safe place, as you will need it in the future.

Connecting with the audiovisual equipments
To enjoy the programs coming from your audiovisual equipments such as VCR, DVD etc, the signal must be received by the set
via the AV input terminals at rear or side.
Note:
The following figures are only for reference, please refer to the instruction included with your DVD or VCR for direction on how
to connect these to your TV.
