Quick Reference Guide

Place the meter on a level surface or hold
it in your hand. Power on the meter by
pressing the On/Off button .

not intended as an alternative to
reading the User’s Manual.
Please read the Accutrend Plus
User’s Manual carefully before
using the meter for the first time.
The Accutrend Plus meter is used for
the quantitative measurement of
glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides and
lactate in capillary whole blood. The
meter is suitable for professional use as
well as for self-testing.
Exception: The Accutrend Plus meter is
not suitable for glucose self-testing.

Check that all of the display elements are
displayed properly. Check the time and
date (if you want to save this information
with the result).

Insert a code strip as shown. Do not
touch the printed area behind the black
bar or on the back of the strip.
If no code has been stored in the
meter so far, codenr flashes with three
dashes. Otherwise the last stored code
is displayed.
You must code the meter every
time you open a new test strip
container.

With the chamber flap closed, insert the
code strip smoothly into the teststrip guide
as far as it will go and withdraw it
immediately.

Successful coding is confirmed with a
short beep (if beeper is activated) and the
code is displayed by the meter. If an error
occurs or if the code is not displayed,
repeat the process after a few seconds.

Remove a test strip from the container.
Always close the container again
immediately. Otherwise the test strips may
become unusable before their expiration
date.

Hold the test strip as shown and insert
it as far as possible. If the strip is correctly
inserted you will hear two beeps (if beeper
is activated). The code number of the test
strip is displayed.

Open the measurement chamber flap.

Lance the outer side of the fingertip using
the lancing device to obtain a large
hanging drop of blood.

You can apply blood with the strip
inside or outside the meter.
To avoid incorrect results, make sure
the application area is completely
covered with blood.

Forbloodapplication outside themeter:
Remove the test strip and leave the flap
open. Apply immediately a large
hanging drop of blood directly from the
finger to the yellow sample application
area of the test strip. Do not let the
application area come into contact with
skin. Insert the test strip back into the
meter.

Apply the hanging drop of blood
immediately from the finger to the yellow
application area of the test strip. Do not
touch the sample application area with the
finger. Continue with step (12).
Measurement starts.
Result displays after:
When the measurement is complete
the meter beeps (if beeper is activated)
and the result is displayed.
Results falling outside the
measurement range are displayed as
Hi(above the measurement range) or
Lo(below the measurement range).
Glucose: 12 seconds
Cholesterol: 180 seconds
Triglycerides: max. 174 seconds
Lactate: 60 seconds

Close the flap to start the measurement.
