This document provides the steps needed to install and prepare the door for the privacy adaptors, including marking the door edge, drilling holes, and ensuring proper alignment. Installation instructions for 2809 & 2909 Privacy Adaptors to suit
2800 & 2900 Series Leversets
(Purchase leverset and tubular latch separately)
NOTE: Carefully follow these instructions when installing.
Screws to be tightened to a recommended 2.5Nm torque.

• Mark and chisel door
edge for faceplate.
• Chisel the recess to a
depth that allows latch
to sit flush with door
edge. Use latch
faceplate
as a template.
• Insert latch & fasten
with wood screws
provided.
Prepare Internal Assembly
• Remove rosette covers (1) from both lever
assemblies.
• Remove alignment posts & tube nuts &
discard.
• Hold the privacy adaptor (2) against the
inside of internal lever-rosette (3)
by inserting the adaptor's spindle extension
(4) into square recess on inside
of internal lever.
• Ensure that the privacy snib (5) is in the
closed position.
Note: Emergency release arm must align
with slot (7) on external lever-rosette
assembly (8).
Prepare External Assembly
• Install spring (9) into square recess (10) in
external lever-rosette as shown.
• Insert emergency release bar (6) as shown
locating L shaped end into slot (7).
44mm hole
Fold template where indicated.
• Position template on door edge
at desired latch height.
• Firmly hold template & mark
latch height & 5 hole centres
(4 off 9mm & 1 off 44mm)
at required backset.
• Measure door thickness and
mark centre.
• Drill 25mm latch hole.
Note: it is important to
drill this hole squarely.
Drill Pilot holes - suggest 3mm,
then enlarge (4 off) 9mm holes
& (1 off) 44mm holes from
both sides of door.
