1. INTRODUCTION AND SAFETY
1.1 Introducing
The Cafitesse 60 is a liquid coffee dispenser for small outlets in the outofhome market with an
average consumption of 30 cups per day. The dispenser can deliver a variety of drinks subject to the
choice of the customer for the following combination of ingredient packs:
D coffee & milk
D coffee & coffee
D coffee & decaf coffee
The dispenser can also deliver hot water for tea or other instant drinks.
The dispenser can provide drinks per cup or pot.
A special pot with vacuum flask is available as accessory.
1.1.1 Office Coffee Service (OCS)
The Office Coffee Service (OCS) concept is based on:
D Delivery of coffee and other ingredients,
D Preventive maintenance and small repair (onsite).
For extensive maintenance or repair the dispenser will be returned to the workshop to minimize
disturbance for the customer.

1.2 Safety instructions
1.2.1 General remark concerning safety
This subsection is intended as an overview of the warnings and instructions used in this manual that
must always be observed.
The following general safety precautions apply to the operation and maintenance of the dispenser and
must always be observed. Nonobservance of these instructions or any other safety precautions mentioned
in this manual could impair the dispenser safety standards, lead to dangerous situations, and the
manufacturer cannot be held responsible for possible damages.
Service technicians must thoroughly read and understand the Back Office Manual and operating
instructions before they can install the dispenser and put it into operation.
The service technician must hand over and explain the operating instructions to the customer.
Installation, startup, programming and, if required, repair of the dispenser must be performed by
trained and authorized service technicians only.
1.2.2 Hazard intensity levels
There are different levels of hazard intensity, identified by pictograms. The level of hazard is
determined by the following definitions;
DANGER:
Sudden hazards, that WILL lead to either serious personal injury or death.
WARNING:
Hazards due to dangerous behaviour that CAN lead to either serious injury or
death.
General warning.
Risk of electric shock.
Risk of contact with (very) hot liquids or objects.
CAUTION:
Hazards due to dangerous behaviour that can lead to either minor injury to
persons or damage to product.
DO NOT:
YOU MUST:
Follow up these actions to prevent either minor injury to persons or damage to
product.
Wash you hands.
Wear protective spectacles.
Wear protective gloves.
ATTENTION: Pay particular attention to the remark proceeded by this symbol.

OPERATION
D Do not use the dispenser for other than the intended use.
D The dispenser is intended for indoor operation only.
D Do not place the dispenser too close to a sink (wet) or cooking device (hot).
D The liquids delivered by the dispenser are hot.
D Keep hands and body parts clear from the delivery area while the dispenser is producing the
hot beverage.
D Keep children away from the dispenser.
D Please allow the internal boiler to cool off before you relocate or move the dispenser
(recommended waiting time is 3 hours).
D If you do not use the dispenser for 848 hours:
1. Use the power button to set the dispenser in standby mode.
2. Close the water supply.
D If you plan to stop using the dispenser for a longer period of time:
1. Remove all ingredients from the dispenser.
2. Clean and flush the dispenser.
3. Disconnect the power cord.
4. Close or disconnect the power supply.
5. Allow the water inside the dispenser boiler to cool down.
6. Drain the dispenser before you move the dispenser to another location.
D Always connect to a source of filtered drinking water and/or use filtered drinking water to
(re)fill the water tank. Particularly at locations with poor water quality filtered water is highly
recommended or may even be required.
D Observe the indicated water pressure when a dispenser with a fixed water connection is
installed.
D The drip tray capacity is limited to 500 ml/27 fl oz. (3
~4 cups).
Empty the drip tray in case the beverage has been delivered while no cup or pot was present.
D The customer should clean the dispenser on a daily and weekly basis as described in the
operator manual for hygienic and functional reasons.
D Always observe basic hygiene and use only foodgrade cleaning agents.
D Clean the dispenser parts with a clean damp cloth. Never make the dispenser wet by
sprinkling or spraying.
D Always keep the dispenser upright when moving.
D The power supply should not be interrupted completely, because the cooling system will not
function.
D Do not store the dispenser at locations with a surrounding temperature below 0°C/34°F.
ELECTRICITY
D Never plug a power cord into a wall outlet (or unplug a power cord) when either part is wet or
either part is touched with wet hands.
D Never disable the safety mechanisms / systems.
D Do not operate any appliance with a damaged power cord or plug.
D Always connect the dispenser to electric power supply in accordance with local regulations.
D Always connect the dispenser to a properly fused electric circuit.
When the dispenser has been relocated, make sure that the dispenser does not overload the
capacity of the electrical circuit when plugged in.
Observe the local regulations!
D Do not connect the dispenser to any power source other than indicated on the rating label.
D Never immerse power cord or the dispenser in water or any other liquid.

INGREDIENT HANDLING
D Ensure that the cooling compartment is properly closed at all times (the ingredient quality
may otherwise deteriorate).
D Store ingredient packs only in a refrigerator at a temperature below 6°C/42.8°F.
D Always check the expiration date on the package (‘best before date’) and use the ingredient
pack that has been stored for the longest period (firstin, firstout principle).
D Never disconnect power from the dispenser when it contains ingredient packs.

Service device (to adjust set volumes, coffee
strength, etc.).
Water pressure gauge (for dispensers with

2.2.5.1 Fixed water connection
Important
Ensure that the installation conditions are met before you install the fixed water connection (see
section 2.1).
Always observe local regulation regarding plumbing!
1. Connect the water stop. (Specifications see section 5.7.1.)
2. Read the filter instructions (as provided by its manufacturer)
3. Connect the filter to the water supply.
4. Flush the filter.
5. Connect the filter to the dispenser.
6. Open the tap.

1. Remove the lid.
2. Lift the cold water tank using the handle.
3. Clean the inside with a brush and a foodgrade cleaning agent.
4. Rinse the water tank.
5. Fill the tank with clean tap water. (Do not overfill!)
6. Reinstall the water tank.

2.2.6 Connect the power cord
The boiler fills with water and the dispenser will go in the ’off’ mode.
Immediately hereafter the Peltier element will be activated.
The temperature will appear in the display until it reaches 5°C.
For NSF the temperature of the cooling system will always be displayed.

2.2.7 Switch on the dispenser
Press the on/standby button as illustrated to switch the dispenser on.
Immediately hereafter the heating element is activated.
The flashing thermometer ’boiler temperature low indication’ remains in the display until the operational
temperature has been reached. This takes approx. 8 minutes for 230V or up to 10 minutes for 120V
dispensers.

2.2.8 Place ingredient packs
1. Wash your hands (hygiene!!)
2. Remove the foil from the pack.
3. Install the ingredient packs (both1,25 l/42.3 fl oz).
a. Check the expiration date on the pack,
b. Shake the pack 10 times,
c. Open the pack and unfold dosing tube,
d. Place the pack in the cooling compartment,
D left pack is coffee or other ingredient (Fig.13 a.)
D right pack is always coffee (Fig.13 b.)

2.2.9 Run the cleaning program
Go to the ’Operator Mode’ (section 4.1.2)

Go to the ’Service Mode’ to calibrate the dispenser:
1. Run the Automatic Temperature Adaptation Program (ATAP, see section 4.2.7).
Optional, see section 5.1.6.1 for details.
2. Calibrate the water dosing quantity (section 4.2.4)
Go to the ’Operator Mode’ (section 4.1) to change the default settings:
1. Clock settings (section 4.1.4)
2. Language (section 4.1.5)
3. Adjust volume (section 4.1.8)
4. Adjust strength (section 4.1.9)
2.3 Handing over the dispenser to the customer

1. Ensure the dispenser is working properly according to customer preferences.
