C) DUST COMPARTMENT OPERATION
This bagless vacuum cleaner collects the dust in a dust
compartment located on the front of the cleaner.
Located within the dust compartment are the pre-filter and the pre-
filter wiper. The pre-filter wiper rotates around the pre-filter wiping
dust off towards the main dust compartment. It also helps to remove
large particles of dust that may get trapped on the pre-filter while
cleaning.
Located on the outside of the dust compartment is the Maximum
dust level mark. When the level of dust inside the dust compartment
nears the Maximum dust level, empty the dust compartment (see
page 9).
Always ensure that the dust compartment is emptied before the dust
reaches the Maximum dust level mark.

remains lit until the air is free of dust. The Red light then goes off
indicating the area is free of dust.
The dust sensor may not operate correctly if the airflow is restricted due
to a blockage or dust build-up on the sensors.
Check the suction pipe inlet and hose for any blockage and
remove the obstruction.
If after removing any blockage or obstruction the dust sensor does not
work, take the vacuum cleaner to the Service Centre.
NOTE: The dust sensor indicator may light up when
there is no dust present.
This can occur when the cleaner is used in areas
where there is a strong electromagnetic field, for

the dust compartment. Under normal usage, it will not require replacement. However it may become necessary to
clean or change it when vacuuming fine dust, such as talcum powder or similar materials over a period of time.
The filter should be replaced if the airflow through the dust compartment is insufficient.
To clean or change the filter:
Remove the dust cover .(see page 9)
Remove the dust cover top by pushing the tabs in and lifting off.
Clean dust accumulated in the
main filter by tapping it firmly

the central filter (see page 9).
To remove the central filter, hold the filter at the
top (as illustrated) and pull upwards.
Simply rinse out in warm water and dry
thoroughly before replacing.
When replacing, ensure that the hole in the
middle of the filter is located over the tab.
Replace the dust compartment (see page 9).
Important: Ensure that the filter is completely
dry before re-installing it into the cleaner.
Clean air filter HEPA Type (Fig. 2)
Part no.: AMC8S04W5000
The clean air filter is installed bellow the dust
compartment on the front of the cleaner. This
filter retains any small dust particles that may be
in the expelled air. Under normal usage, the
HEPA filter will not require replacement. It may
be necessary to change the filter if fine dust
such as talcum powder or similar material is
vacuumed over a period of time.
CAUTION: Never attempt to wash the HEPA filter.
IMPORTANT: Never use the cleaner without the correct filters properly installed. Failure to do so
may result in motor damage.
(Fig. 1)

PROTECTION FEATURES
Thermal Cut-out of the cleaner
This vacuum cleaner is fitted with a themal cut-out device which
automatically turns off the cleaner to prevent overheating of the motor.
When this happens,
disconnect the cleaner from the mains socket
and check the dust compartment as it may be full or clogged with fine
dust. Check for any other obstrutions.
After emptying the dust compartment or removing the obstruction,
leave the cleaner to cool down until the thermal cut-out resets
after approximately 40 minutes.
Important: The thermal cut-out will not reset if the unit is not
disconnected from the mains socket.
Over-current Cut-out of the beater bar
When an obstruction jams the beater bar and stops it from rotating, the
overcurrent cut-out device is activated. When this happens
disconnect
the cleaner from the mains socket
and remove the obstruction. Press
the reset button to re-activate the beater bar.
Thermal Cut-out of the beater bar motor
The beater bar motor is fitted with a thermal cut-out device which
automatically turns off the beater bar power when there is not enough
air flow through the motor. When this occurs,
disconnect the cleaner
from the mains socket and leave the cleaner to cool down until the
thermal cut-out resets after approximately 30 minutes.
This could happen if (by mistake) while using the accessories the
cleaner is in the reclined position and the beater bar is ON.
Important: The thermal cut-out will not reset if the unit is not
disconnected from the mains socket.
