ELECTRIC COUNTER TILTING SKILLET

These instructions should be read thoroughly before attempting installation. Set up. installation and
Performance Check should be performed by a qualified service technician. The Manufacturer.
Southbend (1100 Old Honeycutt Rd.. Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina 27526), informs you that unless
the installation instructions for the above described Southbend product are followed and performed by
a qualified service technician, (a person experienced in and knowledgeable concerning the installation
of commercial gas and/or electrical cooking equipment) then the terms and conditions of the
Manufacturer's Limited Warranty will be rendered void and no warranty of any kind shall apply.
If the equipment has been changed, altered, modified or repaired by other than a qualified service
technician during or after the 12-month limited warranty period, then the manufacturer shall not be
liable for any incidental or consequential damages to any person or to any property which may result
from the use of the equipment thereafter. Some States do not allow the exclusion or limitation of
incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion thereto may not apply to
you.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Electric Counter Tilting Skillet
SET UP
a) Ascertain correct position of skillet for tilting purposes on working surface. Approximately 30" (761 mm) Co front
of base from wall. Be sure skillet tilts easily.
b) Secure skillet by bolts -provided Co properly leveled working surface.

c) Seal skillet to table top with Silastic or other sealing compound.
SERVICE CONNECTION
a) All internal wiring of the skillet is complete.
b) Make a waterproof electrical connection from incoming lines to the control box.
c) Ground skillet Co terminal provided in control housing.
d) A wiring diagram is provided inside the control housing cover panel.
e) All skillets have been factory tested for control and electrical heating elements.
f) Check for proper operation.

OPERATION
a) Ascertain that unit has been electrically connected and that circuit breakers are on.
b) Place power switch in "ON" position.
c) Set the thermostat dial Co high (#10).
d) Preheat the unit and allow it to cycle thus equalizing heat across the entire surface.
e) Cooking should be done at various temperature settings on the dial as determined by the user.
f) Water will boil faster with the optional cover on.
8) Check that skillet optional level bar, on right side of control panel, moves in and out easily. This bar
provides two set positions, level and slightly tilted.

h) At end of cooking, return thermostat to "OFF" position, turn power switch "OFF", remove food and allow
Co soak for ease of cleaning.

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

CLEANING
The Electric Counter Tilting Skillet (ECTS) should be cleaned AFTER EACH USE.
a) Soak cooking surface Co remove any food stuck Co the surface.
b) Wash entire skillet surface with a mild detergent and water.
c) Check Chat pouring spout, cover, and sides of unit as well as cooking surface are clean.

d) Rinse entire unit and dry.
