Eye Protection
Rubber Gloves
The following procedure is very dangerous and should be performed with the utmost
care and attention. Wear protective eyewear, rubber gloves, and have water available
shoumdemectromytecome in contact with skin or eyes. KEEPALL CHLLDRENAWAY
FROM THEAREAVVH_LETH_SPROCEDURENSBEINGPERFORMED.
POmSON- CAUSES SEVERE BURNS
Contains suffuric acid.
Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or cmothing
To prevent accidents, rinse empty container with water.
ANTmDOTE:
E×ternam- flush with water
Nnternam- Call physician immediatemy.Drink margequantities of water or mimk.
Follow with mimkof magnesia, beaten eggs or vegetabme.
Eyes - Fmushwith water for i 5 minutes and get prompt medicareattention.
KEEP OUTOF REACHOFCHILDREN.
_g thebatter_:
Placebattery on levelsurface. Remove Vent cap from battery vent located
on top side portion of battery. (seefigure 20)
Remove ceil caps using a pair of pliers. (seefigure 21)
Wear eye protectionand rubber gloves for this step. Cut off tip of
electrolyte bottle and attach tube. Place other end of tube in battery and
allow the electrolyte to drain in battery ceil. Fill battery to upper levelmark
located on front of battery. Repeat step for each of the 6 cells (see figure
22)
After each ceil isfilled with electrolyte to upper level, remove tube from
battery and set electrolyte aside.
Discardempty electrolyte bottle in a waste area that isinaccessibleto
children and animals.
After filling let battery stand for at least 30 minutes before charging. This
allows the electrolyte to penetrate plates for optimum performance and
ensures longer battery life.
After 30minutes the battery is ready for its initial charge. Place caps loosely
overceil holes.
How to Initiaii_qe the batte_:
1. Connect the red positive (+) cable to the red positive (+) pole ofthe battery.
(see figure 24)
2. Connect the black negative (°)cable to the black negative (°)pole of the
battery. (see figure 25)
Note: The red positive (+) cable has a larger diameter than the black
negative y cable.

Charging rate: Charge battery @0.7 Amps for
5~ 10hours.

After charging iscomplete, re°install securely aii six battery caps (see
figure 26)
Nnstammbattery intobattery tray mocatedunder seat (see figure 27).
Oncebattery isfirmly seated intray, attach red positive (+)wire to positive
(+)terminamon battery,then attach bmacknegative (-)wire to negative (-)
terminal on battery (seefigure 28)
install battery under seat

3. Turn power switch to "RUN" as
specified in owners manual.
Fill engine with correct amount of oil and fuel tank with
fuel as specified inthe owners manual Refer to owners
manual for proper starting insructions.
CAUTION
The engine oil shoutd be drained
and replaced with new oil before
starting the fist time.
Neverattempt to start engine
without first replacing engine oil
with proper amount and grade as
described inthe owners manual
