THIS IGNITOR MAY OR MAY NOT BE IDENTICAL TO THE IGNITOR BEING
REPLACED. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS WITH PICTURE OF THE IGNITOR
BEING REPLACED.
To Replace Round lgnitor
1. REMOVE CORD FROM OUTLET.
2. Remove lower front toe panel.
3. Shutogas.
4. Unscrew union.
5. Remove burner base from cabinet base - keep screws.
6. Remove the WHITE (F52) wire and the BLUE (FS1) wire from
the sensor.
7. Pull apart the connectors with the BLUE and BLACK wires coming
from the gas valve to the cabinet wiring harness.
8. Remove burner assembly from the dryer.
9. CutoBLACKandREDwirestwoinchesbackfrombracket.
10. Remove and throw away failed ignitor and bracket. Keep the screws.
11.StripinsulaonfromtheBLACKandREDwires3/8”from
cut end.
CAUTION
HANDLE REPLACEMENT IGNITOR WITH CARE - FRAGILE.
Check for gas leaks by using soap and water on the
threadsoftheunion.Donotuseamatchorameof
any kind.
Keepallwiresawayfromtheburnerameorignitorwhen
reassembling the burner to the cabinet base.
12. Mount the replacement ignitor and bracket assembly to the
burnertube,reusingtheNo.10-16x1/2”screw,fromstep10.
13.Cutotheconnectoronthereplacementignitorandstrip
insulaon3/8”fromend.
14. Using one of the wire nuts supplied, put the RED wire from the
burner assembly and one of the WHITE wires from the replacement
ignitor to gether. Then connect the BLACK wire from burner and
other WHITE wire from ignitor with remaining wire nut.
To Replace Flat lgnitor
1. REMOVE CORD FROM OUTLET.
2. Remove lower front toe panel.
3. Shutogas.
4. Unscrew Union.
5. Remove burner base from
cabinet.
6. Remove the WHITE (FS2) wire and
the BLUE (FS1) wire from the sensor. Remove and
throw away failed ignitor and
7. Pull apart the connectors with the BLUE and BLACK wires coming
from the gas valve to the cabinet wiring harness.
8. Remove burner assembly from the dryer.
9. Pull apart the connectors between the gas valve and the ignitor.
10. Remove and throw away failed ignitor and bracket. Keep the screw.
11. Mount the replacement ignitor and bracket assembly to the burner
tube,reusingtheNo.1016x1/2”screw,menonedinstep10.
12. Reassemble in reverse order.
