instructionsforthedeliveredairtreatmentunit.Readallrelevantpartsofthismanualbeforeoperatingor
performinganyworkontheunit.Observanceofthisinformationwillhelpyoutoavoiddanger,tominimise
repaircostanddowntime,andtoincreasethereliabilityandtheservicelifeoftheairtreatmentunit.
Thismanualshouldbestoredinapermanentlocationclosetotheunit.

ThewarrantyisbasedonthetermsofsaleanddeliveryofMunters.Thewarrantyisnotvalidifrepairsor
modicationsarecarriedoutwithoutthewrittenagreementofMunters,oriftheunitdoesnotoperateunder
theconditionsagreedwithMunters.Damagesresultingfromnegligence,poormaintenanceorfailureto
complywiththerecommendationswillnotbecoveredbythewarranty.

Itisaconditionofthewarrantythattheunitforthefullwarrantyperiodisservicedandmaintainedbya
qualiedMuntersengineerorMuntersapprovedengineer.Accesstospecicandcalibratedtestequipment
isnecessary.Theserviceandmaintenancemustbedocumentedforthewarrantytobevalid.
Thewarrantyislimitedtoafreeexchangeofpartsorcomponentswhichhavefailedasaresultofdefects
inmaterialsorworkmanship.
Commissioning/Start-upinspection"S"byMuntersismandatorytovalidatethefullwarranty.
AlwayscontactMuntersforserviceorrepair.Operatingfaultscanoccuriftheunitismaintained
insufcientlyorincorrectly.
1.5Inspectionofdelivery
Uponreceipt,inspecttheequipmentbeforesigningthedeliverynote.Specifyanydamageonthedelivery
noteandsendaregisteredletterofcomplainttothelastcompanyresponsiblefortransportingthe
equipmentwithinthreedays.InformMuntersofthiscomplaint.
Theunitmustbefullyinspectedwithinoneweekfromarrival.Ifahiddenfaultisdiscovered,senda
registeredletterofcomplainttothehaulierwithintheweekfollowingdelivery,andnotifyMuntersofthis.

ThetechnicaldataforaspecicunitcanbefoundintheseparateDatasheetissuedforeachunit.

2.1Intendeduse
TheunitdeliveredbyMuntersmustonlybeusedforthetreatmentofair.Thisincludesltering,heating,
cooling,humidifying,dehumidifyingandtransportingair.Muntersexplicitlyrulesoutanyotheruse.
Theunitisdesignedtomeetthesafetyrequirements,directivesandstandardslistedintheECDeclarationof
Conformity.
NomodicationoftheunitisallowedwithoutpriorapprovalbyMunters.Attachmentorinstallationof
additionaldevicesisonlyallowedafterwrittenagreementbyMunters.
TheconditionsofoperationspeciedintheseparateDatasheetmustbeobservedabsolutely.Anyotheruse
oftheequipmentcancausepersonalinjuryanddamagetotheunitandotherproperty.

Inordertoavoidthepossibledangersinoperatingormaintainingtheunit,necessaryprotectionshavebeen
foreseen.However,therearestillsomeresidualrisksthatallpersonnelworkingwiththeunitmustbeaware
of:
Thehandlingofuidsinrefrigerating,heatingorcoolingcircuitscanbedangerous.Studytheinformation
relevantforeachtypeofuidtoavoiddangers.
Hotorcoldsurfacescancauseinjuries.Beforeintervening,waituntiltemperaturesbecomenormaloruse
protectiveclothing.
Whenworkinginsidetheunit,payattentiontothepossibleergonomicdangersfrominadequatework
positionsorheavylifts.
Unitsectionscanbehigh.Usesecurescaffoldingtoaccesstheupperlevel.
Unitpanelscanbeheavy.Donothandlealone.
Sharpsteeledgesonboxesorcoilscancausecuts.Useprotectivegloves,particularlyduringdisassembly

Whenworkingwithornearfans,beawarethatremainingairowthroughtheunitcancausespontaneous

TheDesiCoolairtreatmentsystemisahighlyefcientenergyrecoveryventilationsystem.Ituseslow
costorsurplusheattocreateamorecomfortableindoorclimate.
TheDesiCoolcombinesMuntersadvanceddesiccantdehumidicationtechnologywithevaporative
cooling.
Insummertheunitkeepstherelativehumidityintheroomlowerthanasetsummermaximumvalue,and
alsocontrolsthesupplytemperaturetothesetvalue.
Inwintertheunitkeepsthesupplytemperatureatthesetvaluebyrecoveringheatfromtheexhaustair,while
atthesametimecontrollingtheroomhumiditynottobelowerthanaminimumsetvalue.

Thedesiccantrotorwillnotbereplacedpreventively,capacitymonitoringwillindicatewhenrotor

Evaporativecoolers/humidiersareplacedbothinthesupplyandexhaustairstreams.
Theycanhaveeitheradirectwatersupply,orarecirculatedsystem.
TheheartoftheFA6cooler/humidierisacassettemadefrominorganicevaporativemediaGLASdek®.
Waterissuppliedtothetopoftheevaporativemediaviaadistributionheader.Thewaterowsdown
thecorrugatedsurfaceofthemedia.Asthewarmanddryairpassesthroughthemediaitevaporatesa
proportionofthewaterandthusproducescool,humidiedair.Therestofthewaterassistsinwashingthe
media,andisdrainedbacktothetank.Inthecaseofarecirculatedsystem,theremustbeableed-offandan
automaticdrainageinordertoavoidcontaminationofthewater.
Theenergythatisneededfortheevaporationistakenfromtheairitself.Theairthatleavesthehumidieris
thereforehumidiedandcooledsimultaneouslywithoutanyexternalenergysupplyfortheevaporation.
