As demonstrated in Figure 2, the Dionex IC
PEEK Viper tting system ensures a correct
tubing face seal, ensuring consistently low-
volume connections without the use of tools.

Achieving consistently good low dead volume connections is critical for optimum chromatographic performance in ion
chromatography (IC). Due to very small internal volumes, this is particularly true with capillary IC applications. Conventional ttings
can increase column volume by incorrect positioning of the ferrule, leading to reduced efciencies and poor peak shapes. Figure 1,
below, shows the effects of improper tubing connections on chromatography.
