1. INTRODUCTION
The Lely Lotus 600 Stabilo Combi is a hitch carried rotary tedder-to ted
mown fodder crops or widespread crop swaths. The machine is equipped
with a Stabilo steering device. The steering device corrects deviations made
by the machine through the four pivots points.
The working width of the Lotus is 6.00 m (19.7 ft), and can be driven up to
15 km/h. The wheels are positioned closely behind the tines to follow ground
contours accurately.
The Lotus has 4 rotors. A rotor has 8 tine arms with a double spring steel
tine each. The special shaped tines pick up the crop and spread it with a
minimum loss. The rotors can pivot in relation to each other to follow field
indulations accurately.
The Lotus can be fitted with windrowing cages, which makes the Lotus not
only for tedding, but also for making and moving windrows.
The Lotus is connected to the tractor hydraulics. The hydraulic control
makes sure the Lotus moves quick and easily to the transport position. The
machine can be transported behind the tractor. The transport width is 3.00 m
(9.84 ft).
Various optional extras for the Lotus are also available.
1. Stabilo Steering Device - 2. Locking Hook - 3. Hydraulic Ram - 4. Safety Guard -
5. Windrowing Cage - 6. Gearbox - 7. Warning Plate - 8. Wheel - 9. Tine - 10. Rotor -

1.1.4 Gauge Wheel Set
A gauge wheel is installed on the headstock to improve the following of
ground contours. This may be necessary on hilly terrain to optimize the
tedding result. A chain replaces the top link and the gauge wheel takes over
the leveling function from the top link.

1.1.6 Windrowing Cages + Black Tine arms
Windrowing cages make or move windrows. They are installed on the back
of the Lotus. Make sure to use the black tine arms in combination with the
windrowing cages. The black tine arms have got a smaller curve at the end
of the tine hook, which permits the crops to leave the tine arms a fraction
earlier. This will create a better flow through the windrowing cages.
To ted the plot side, a windrowing cage can be used as an deflector. The
windrowing cage ensures that the crop is not thrown over the plot side (A).
Remove the Windrow cages if they are not being used.

2. SAFETY
This chapter contains safety instructions you must obey when you use or do
maintenance on your Lely Lotus. It also explains the safety decals on the
Lely Lotus.
2.1 Signal words
Note the use of the signal words DANGER, WARNING and CAUTION. The
signal word for each message uses the following guidelines:
Danger: Indicates an imminently hazardous situation that,
if not avoided, will result in death or serious injury.
Warning: Indicates a potentially hazardous situation that, if not
avoided, could result in death, serious injury or product damage, and
includes hazards that are exposed when guards are removed.
Caution: Indicates a potentially hazardous situation that, if not avoided, may
result in minor or moderate injury or damage to the product or property.
Note: This shows extra information that may help the reader.
2.2 Safety instructions
Use the Lotus only for the purpose for which it was designed.
Follow all safety regulations, including those in this manual and

Be alert and observe all safety precautions.
Make sure all safety guards and protection devices are installed and
function correctly.
Keep people and objects away from moving parts.
Stop the tractor engine, the Power Take-Off (PTO) and all moving parts
before you do maintenance on the Lotus.
Make sure no people are in the danger zone when the Lotus is in
operation. This is especially important when you work near or on areas
that are accessible to the public.
Always use a tractor with a cab.
Make sure there are no objects in the field that could be thrown up by the
Lotus before you operate the Lotus.
Obey local legislation when you drive on a public road.
Use flashing lights or other safety signs, when necessary.
Do not remain on the Lotus during operation or transport.

Clean or replace the safety decals regularly so that they can be read at
all times.
2.3 Explanation of the safety decals
Read the operator's manual carefully before
you operate the Lotus
Keep away from all moving parts unless they
are locked and cannot move.
Danger: Keep a safe distance from the Lotus
when the tractor engine is on.
Keep away from the folding area of the rotors.
Read the operating instructions for the PTO
shaft. Always use the correct safety precautions
and protection when you operate the PTO
