Once the procedure © has been executed:
press the key
An audible signal sounds when the switch is
made.
The ‘Independent’ LED is illuminated green.
Both the tillers are now active.
The ‘Active’ LED beside the key continues to
be illuminated green.
The line of text on the autopilot control unit
continues to indicate manual steering.
Turn the joystick for Tiller 1 to the required
rudder angle for rudder 1.
Turn the joystick for Tiller 2 to the required
rudder angle for rudder 2.
The display unit indicates the actual rudder
angle in ° and the r elevant LED is illuminated.

The tiller to which the switch has just
been made changes to
‘Synchronous’, and the second
tiller changes automatically from
‘Active’ to ‘Standby’.
The ‘Synchronous’ LED is illuminated green.
The second rudder adopts the rudder
position of the synchronous tiller that
has just been activated.
The ‘Active’ LED beside the key for the tiller
that has been switched on continues to be
illuminated green .
The ‘Standby’ LED on the other tiller is
illuminated yellow.
The line of text on the autopilot control unit
continues to indicate manual steering.
