OPERATION
The CS-200 lets you adjust light levels and switch outlets on and off
from the convenience of your desk. When shipped from the factory,
the CS-200 operates in Preset Mode and performs the following functions:

When the controlled space has been
vacated for 15 minutes (Primary delay),
the CS-200 will dim the lights to a low level
and switch the controlled outlets off.
If the space is still vacant 15 minutes
later (Secondary delay), the CS-200 will
turn the lights off. When the space is
reoccupied, the CS-200 will automatically
restore the lighting level and outlets to
the state they were in when the space
was last occupied.

Press the button corresponding to the
desired intensity and the lights will fade
to the new preset over two seconds.

PLACEMENT
The CS-200 can stand on a desktop or be mounted to a vertical
surface (see “Installation”). Choose a convenient location that gives
the sensor a clear view of the area for proper occupancy detection.

Congratulations! You’ve finished the Quick Start setup of the CS-200.
It’s now ready to control lighting and outlets as described on page 3.
On the back of the User Reference Guide, write down the location and
check the appropriate boxes for the setup of the CS-200.
INSTALLATION
The CS-200 can stand alone with the attached
Base bracket, or it can be mounted with the
Mounting bracket to any hard, smooth, vertical
surface, such as a computer monitor, binder bin,
book case or wall.
Optional Mounting bracket installation:
1. Remove the Base bracket.
2. Before mounting, determine that the cable
will reach comfortably from the CS-200’s
mounting location to the power strip.
3. The double-sided mounting tape can
be attached to the side or to the back
of the mounting bracket. Attach the
mounting bracket vertically.
Connect the Isolé power strip:
Connect the small end of the
connector cable to the CS-200.
Plug the large end of the cable

CHANGING OPERATING MODES & TIME DELAYS
The CS-200 is shipped from the factory with
the rotary switch set to position 5 as shown
here. The switch setting determines both the
operating mode (manual or preset) and the
occupancy sensor time delays, shown in the
chart below, and must be set to a position
from 0 through 9 during operation. The other
switch positions are used to customize
control functions.
The rotary switch is located on the bottom of
the CS-200. To change the setting, use the small screwdriver supplied
to rotate the switch to the position corresponding to the desired operation.

Controlled outlets on power strips equipped with RM-2 receivers
may be switched by buttons 1–4 or by the On/Off button. See note in
“Address Planning.”

When the controlled space has been

(Primary delay), the CS-200 will switch
the controlled outlets off and will either
dim or turn off the lighting. Depending
on the switch setting, the lights will
either remain at the dimmed levels
(settings 2 and 7) or, if the space
remains vacant for another selected
period of time (Secondary delay), the

CUSTOMIZING THE CONTROL FUNCTIONS
The following attributes may be customized from the factory set operation
by performing a variety of setup routines:
• Enable/Disable selected Occupancy Sensor Control
• Select Manual-On or Auto-Restore upon occupancy
•Set Custom Preset Levels
• Reset Factory Defaults (caution - this will also reset address)
Please refer to the chart for a detailed explanation of the control
functions that may be customized using the following setup routines.
Before beginning a setup routine, note the numerical position of the
rotary switch on the base of the CS-200. Access the switch by
removing the Tower from the base bracket or mounting bracket.
1. To activate one of the setup routines, select one of the letters, C-F,
from the chart and set the rotary switch to the corresponding
position with the small screwdriver supplied.
2. Press the large On/Off button once. The indicator light will flash,
showing that a setup function is in process. The function can be
cancelled by pressing On/Off again.
3. Press one of the buttons, 1-4, as shown in the chart to select the
corresponding option. Setup is then complete.
4. To resume operation, reset the rotary switch to the original numerical
position.

Only one setup choice may be
selected per setup routine. If you wish
to reconfigure several options, simply
perform successive setup routines for
each selection.
Note: To assign new preset levels,
first put the CS-200 in Manual mode
(rotary switch settings 0–4) and use

For example: To select Manual-On operation for the outlets controlled
by the On/Off button, set the rotary switch to position D in step 1
of the setup routine, and press button 4 during step 3. If occupancy
sensor control for the outlets is enabled it will turn them off after the
area is vacated, but will no longer restore them to on upon occupancy.
If sensor control is desired, but is disabled or its condition is unknown,
repeat the setup routine, again setting the switch to position D in
step 1, but pressing button 1 in step 3.
Setting the Channel address
1. Set the rotary switch to position B.
2. Press the On/Off button once.
3. With the indicator light flashing, rotate the switch to match the value
of the new Channel address.
4. Press one of the small control buttons (1–4) to store the new address.
Addressing is then complete. To resume operation, reset the rotary
switch to the original numerical position.
Note: If an address value higher than 9 will
be used (for example Group 1, Channel 13),
translate the number to the designation shown
in the diagram. This translation enables the
address values to be assigned to the CS-200
using the 16 position rotary switch which is
labeled 0–9 and A–F.

ADDRESS PLANNING
Multiple occupants of an open plan office space can use CS-200s
without affecting each other's environments because of an addressing
system that identifies each transmitter. When a CS-200 sends an infrared
signal, it identifies itself and only receivers that have been instructed
to respond to that address will listen.
If you are using the CS-200 in an enclosed location, the choice of
address is not critical. It is important that the CS-200 and the receivers
it is to control have corresponding addresses. The factory set address
for the CS-200 is Group 1, Channel 1.
If you are using the CS-200 in a location where it could signal receivers
intended to be controlled by other transmitters, it is likely that your
CS-200 transmitter and related receivers have already been assigned
addresses during system commissioning. Refer to the documentation
for the addressing scheme for your installation or to the IRC Address
Planning Instructions and the associated receivers’ instructions.
SETTING THE TRANSMITTER ADDRESS
IRC addresses consist of two parts, Group and Channel, each with a
value from 1 to 16. Make a note of the new address you wish to
assign to the CS-200.
Access the rotary switch in the base of the tower by removing the
tower from the base bracket or mounting bracket. Before manipulating
the switch, note where the arrow is pointing.
Setting the Group address
1. Set the rotary switch to position A with the small screwdriver supplied.
2. Press the large On/Off button once. The indicator light will flash,
showing that a setup function is in process. The function can be
cancelled by pressing On/Off again.
3. While the light is flashing, rotate the switch again to match the value
of the Group address. (If necessary, use the translations shown below.)
4. To store the new address, press one of the small control buttons (1-4).
Programming Remote Receivers
Transmitters may be used to program addresses into receivers.
To use the CS-200 to set receiver addresses, follow the receiver
instructions. When you are instructed to press and hold the Off button,
make sure that the CS-200 is in Manual mode (rotary switch settings
0-4). Use button 2 (Off) to perform the programming functions. Do NOT
use the large On/Off button.
If remote power strips equipped with RM-2 receivers are to be
controlled by the CS-200, the outlets may be switched together with
the remote overhead lighting or with the local outlets. To switch
with the overhead lighting, assign the RM-2 the same address as
the CS-200. To switch with the local outlets, using the large On/Off
button, assign the RM-2 the same Group address as the CS-200,
but a Channel address three higher than the CS-200. (Example:
CS-200 = Group 1, Channel 1; RM-2 = Group 1, Channel 4.)

the CS-200 and receiver are confirmed, reset the addresses of both
according to your system documentation. If the lighting still does not
operate refer to documentation for the receiver and/or control module
and correct the installation.
Do not leave your CS-200 set to the Universal address, as it will then
operate all lighting receivers within transmitter range.
The lights don’t come on when I enter the area:
In Auto-Restore operation the CS-200 will restore lights and outlets to
the state they were in when the area was vacated. If you turned them
off manually, you will have to turn them back on manually.
If you did not turn the lights or outlets off manually and they don’t
come back on with occupancy, the CS-200 has been customized
for Manual-On operation.
The button functions are wrong:
Refer to pages 6 and 7 for a description of proper button functions.
If buttons are operating in the wrong mode, check the rotary mode
selection switch on the base of the CS-200. Select the appropriate
operating mode from the chart on page 6 and reset the switch.
If the buttons appear to be operating the wrong lights or are performing
unexpected functions, the addressing of either the CS-200 or one or
more of the receivers is incorrect. Refer to system documentation for
the correct addressing, and to pages 10 and 11 for instructions for
resetting the CS-200 address.
The controlled devices turn off while I am in the room:
Adjust the location of the Control Tower or rotate the sensor to better
view the motion in the area (see “Placement”). You may want to choose
an operating mode with a longer time delay.
The controlled devices turn on when someone walks by
my office or area:
Reorient or rotate the sensor so that even its peripheral view will not
sense occupants through an open door or in an adjacent area (see
“Placement”).

TROUBLESHOOTING
First, check installation:
Check that the CS-200 is properly connected to the Isolé power strip.
Toggle the large On/Off button. It should glow green when power is
supplied to the controlled outlets. If the indicator light glows, proceed
to the next section. If the light does not function, check the power strip.
It must be plugged into a properly wired and grounded outlet. If the
line and neutral are reversed, or there is no ground, no power will be
available to the CS-200 even though the uncontrolled outlets on the
strip may have power. Check the Reset(On)/Off switch and the
indicator light labeled "Wiring" on the power strip to test the building
outlet. If this green light is on, proceed. If not, correct the wiring or
choose an alternate outlet.
Controlled outlets don't respond, but On/Off indicator light
functions:
Check any local switches on the loads connected to the controlled
outlets. With the CS-200 On/Off button on (green light glowing),
activate the switches on the equipment.
CS-200 doesn't operate, but On/Off indicator light flashes
when pressed:
Check the rotary mode selection switch on the base of the CS-200.
It has been left in a setup mode (position A-F), not an operating mode
(positions 0–9). Press the On/Off button once to turn the indicator light off,
then refer to pages 6 and 7, select the appropriate operating mode
and reset the switch.
Overhead lighting does not respond to buttons 1–4, but
controlled outlets switch when On/Off is pressed:
Either the lighting control receiver is not properly installed, or the address
of the CS-200 and the lighting receiver do not match.
To verify that the lighting receiver is installed and operating properly,
reset the CS-200 to the Universal address for lighting control (Group 16,
Channel 10), then reset the rotary switch to the desired operating mode
and verify that buttons 1–4 control the lighting. If proper operation of
