DESCRIPTION
TECHNICAL DATA
The Sauer-Danfoss MCE120A PI Controller (for "Proportional-Integral") allows a constant
closed loop speed control of a hydrostatic transmission. This means that the control
compensates for hydrostatic effi ciencies and variable input speeds.
The current source output driver is able to drive Electrical Displacement Controls (EDC)
of the type MCV104A, MCV105A or MCV111B.

Theory of Operation, Dimensions and Connection Diagram
THEORY OF OPERATION An external command signal (setpoint potentiometer) proportional to the desired hydro-
static transmission speed is input to the MCE120A PI Controller.
A ramp function for acceleration and deceleration is provided. The command is then
compared with the converted feedback signal (e.g. RPM, pressure). The error signal is then
passed to the proportional and integral stages.
The calculated signal is converted to an output current which is varied by the Controller
to maintain the desired speed of the hydraulic motor output shaft. To get a stable control
loop at low setpoint, a low limit threshold must be crossed before the integral stage is
activated.
A loss of feedback circuit monitors the ratio between setpoint and feedback. If an exces-
sive error signal exists for an extended duration of time, the Controller will shut down
the output and close the alarm contact. Activating the Controller OFF/ON switch will
effect a reset.
