PRIOR TO FITTING
1. Check that all the parts shown are included in the Kit.
2. Check the condition of each individual part.
3. Park the vehicle in a stable manner.
4. Take the key out of the ignition.
5. Protect all parts removed from the vehicle.
6. Be careful not to damage any vehicle parts during fitting.

CAUTION
The condition to assemble parts is technical experience.
If you not sure if you do a special work step, you should ask your next SUZUKI dealer.
NOTE
The original wiring harness for GSR 600 model, is equipped with two connectors.
They are dedicated for Alarm System. The features of these two connectors are; one-way connector
and four ways connectors with plastic cover.
They are located on the left side, behind of the left lateral plastic body.
Photo 1: Take off the cover of the ignition key unit (A), remove the two semi-fairings enclosing the right
and left sides of the tank (B).
Photo 2: Remove the two fairings on the right and left sides (C), take off the saddle (D) and lift up the
tank (E).
NOTE
Use the rod provided to hold the tank up safely.
Photo 3: Cut the double-sided adhesive tape (F) in half but do not remove its protective backing.
Connect the connector on the alarms harness up to the control unit, insert the rubber hood into its
housing and secure it using a cable grip (G).

Do not remove the other side of protective backing
Photo 4: Clean and remove any grease on the part of the chassis where the control unit will be fitted,
with the sirens mouth facing downwards. Attach the two pieces of double-sided adhesive tape (H) you
cut earlier.
Photo 5: Put the alarm assembly into position
(with the sirens mouth facing downwards) and press
down firmly on the bottom of the alarm case for at least 20 sec.(I).
Secure the alarm harness using a cable grip (L=260 mm) onto the chassis cross bar under the filter box
(L).
Run the two cable lines towards the front of the vehicle: the shorter one goes to the left, the longer one
must cross the vehicle on the right side (M). Secure the cable using cable grips (L=140 mm).
On the left, connect up the two way connector (direction indicators) on the alarm harness with the matching
connector on the original wiring. Secure the connector using a cable grip (L=140mm) (N).
Make sure the black two-way connector remains visible for the connection of the LED (O).
Photo 6: On the right, connect up the two-way connector (direction indicators) on the alarm harness with
the matching connector on the original wiring. Secure the connector using a cable tie (P).
Enabling the alarm system
The alarm must be initiated to make it operational. To do this, turn the ignition key OFF-ON-OFF.
The alarm systems LED (Photograph 10) will now flash, indicating how many remote controls have
been paired up to the system by flashing the appropriate number of times (two are supplied as standard).
The system is now operational. Please refer to the user manual, supplied with the Alarm Kit item code
990D0 ALARM 000 for further details and specifications.

CAUTION
Make sure the alarm harness is secured properly and use the plastic cable ties
provided in the kit if necessary.
Photo 7: Lay the alarm harness along the original wiring and use the fixing points already provided on
the vehicle (Q) and (R).
CAUTION
Take the cap off the four-way connector on the original wiring.
Photo 8: Connect the two connectors on the cable harness (four way connector and single pin connector)
with the relative matching connectors on the original wiring, located behind the rear left fairing (S).
Photo 9: Use Double-sided adhesive tape to stick the LED (T) onto the support for the ignition key unit,
lay the relative cable and secure it using a cable tie onto the immobiliser cable (U).
Photo 10: Before replacing the support for the ignition key unit (V), connect the LED up to the two-way
connector, see photo 5, ref. (O).
Assemble all dismounted covers and parts in the opposite way of dismounting.
