Altinex YZ810-106 is a wall plate with local output that combines audio and video signals from a computer and transmits them over two standard CAT-5 cables. The wall plate has a VGA input and a 3.5mm audio input. The combined signals can be sent to a projector or other display device, and the local output can be used to connect a local monitor, allowing the presenter to run the presentation from their local monitor even though the main presentation screen is behind or directly above the PC location. The wall plate only receives power from the switcher when the projector power is turned on.

2. Installation Procedures
The YZ810-106 wall panel mounts into standard single gang electrical boxes as shown to the right. The CAT-5 cables (included)
run from the switcher, down the inside of the wall, and out of the electrical box for connection to the wall plate. For best results,
use metal boxes with good earth grounding. Electrical/junction boxes and associated hardware are NOT included.
Step 1. Determine the best location for the YZ810-106 and verify that the VGA wall plate fits into the electrical
box selected before installation.
Step 2. Cut an opening in the wall and route the CAT-5 cables from the switcher to the opening in the wall. The
VGA wall plate requires both of the CAT-5 cables provided.
NOTE: Do NOT trim the cables provided. The PC video inputs are pre-compensated for use with the
50 ft (15 m) cables provided.
Step 3. Connect the cables to one of the 4 RGB inputs on the switcher; each RGB input has 2 connectors "A" &
"B." Connect the opposite ends of the cables to the YZ810-106. Connect the "A" connector on the
switcher to the "A" input on the wall plate; likewise for "B."
Step 4. Install the electrical box into the wall and insert the VGA wall plate all the way into the
box, then fasten with the screws provided. Next, attach the wall plate cover to complete
the installation.
Step 5. Turn on the projector power at the wall controller and verify the power LED on the
VGA wall plate is on and red indicating it is receiving power.
Step 6. Connect a video and audio source from a PC to the inputs on the wall plate. Connect the
local video output to the input of the PC’s monitor. The PC video displays on the local
monitor.
Step 7. Select the PC input on the wall controller that corresponds to the input to the switcher
from the VGA wall plate. The video from the PC displays on both the local monitor and
the projector.

5. About Your VGA Wall Plate
The YZ810-106 VGA-UXGA wall plate with local video output allows the video and audio from a computer to be presented through the Showtime system. The
local output is ideal for use with a room PC where the presenter can run the presentation from their local monitor even though the main presentation screen is
behind or directly above the PC location.
The audio input uses a 3.5 mm jack and the computer input is a standard VGA 15-pin HD female connector. The signals are combined and output over two
standard CAT-5 cables attached to the rear of the unit inside the wall. External power is not required since the unit receives power from the Showtime switcher.
There is a Power/Signal Present LED on the front of the plate. The VGA wall plate only receives power from the switcher when the projector power is turned
on. The LED is on and red if the unit has power and changes from red to green when a valid computer video signal is present.

7. Operation
7.1 VGA Wall Plate with Local Output (YZ810-106)
7.1.1 Wall Plate Connections
The VGA output from the PC connects to the VGA connector labeled
"COMPUTER IN" on the wall plate using standard VGA-type cable. The
PC audio output connects to the 3.5 mm jack labeled "AUDIO IN" on the
wall plate.
The "LOCAL OUT" connector on the VGA wall plate can be used to direct
the video from the PC to a local monitor in addition to the main output to
the projector. The "LOCAL OUT" connection does not need to be
connected when not used.
7.1.2 Power/Signal Present LED
The VGA wall plate with local output receives its power from the
Showtime switcher, but only when the projector power is turned on at the
wall controller, see 7.2.1.
The Power LED is on and red when receiving power from the switcher.
The LED turns green when a properly formatted VGA source signal is
applied to the input.
7.1.3 Presentations using Local Output
Turn on the projector power at the wall-controller.
If the room PC is not permanently connected to the wall plate:
o Disconnect the video cable from the PC's monitor
o Connect the PC to the VGA wall plate "COMPUTER IN"
o Connect the local monitor to the "LOCAL OUT" using
standard VGA type cable
o Connect the audio from the PC to the "AUDIO IN"
Select the PC input on the wall-controller that corresponds to the
VGA wall plate input.
The PC input is displayed on the local monitor as well as the
projector for the duration of the presentation.
7.2 Wall Controller
7.2.1 Power Key
The controller does not respond to input selections until the power key is
illuminated. Power on is indicated when the power key in the lower right
corner is green. Turn power on by pressing and holding the power key for
2 seconds. (Press and hold again for 2 seconds to turn power off.)
When the power is turned on, the projector is turned on and the electric
screen (if available) is lowered into position. When the power is turned off,
the projector is turned off, the electric screen (if available) is raised, and
the audio output is muted.
NOTE: The power must be on for the wall plate to receive power from
the switcher.
7.2.2 Input Selection Keys
The input keys are only available when the power key is on. Press any of
the 8 input keys to switch to its associated wall plate input device. The
controller responds by illuminating the key green indicating the input
selection. Only one input can be selected at a time, and if an unused input
is selected a blank screen is produced since no video is available.
7.2.3 Volume Control Knob
The audio control is a single turn knob from minimum to maximum.
Audio control is only active when the power key is on. There are 5 green
indicators above the knob to indicate the volume level.
Note that setting the audio control to minimum does not mean sound is
not present on the speakers. In order to completely turn off the sound, use
the mute key next to the power key.
7.2.4 Mute Key
Press the mute key once to completely disable the output to the speakers.
The mute key illuminates red and the 5 indicators turn off when mute is
active. Pressing the mute key again restores the original audio level to the
speakers, turns off the mute key, and turns on the green volume indicators.
When mute is active, if the volume knob is turned in either direction,
mute is canceled, the mute key turns off, and the green audio indicators
above the knob illuminate to indicate the new audio level.

8. Troubleshooting Guide
We have carefully tested and found no problems in the supplied system; however, we would like to offer suggestions for the following:
Symptom Resolution
Power LED is Off
1. Make sure the projector power on the wall controller is turned on. The VGA wall panel is only on when the
projector power is on. If a computer video signal is present the LED turns green.
2. If the projector power is on and the Power/Signal Present LED is still off, verify the cables on the rear of the VGA
wall plate are properly installed. The switcher has 2 inputs (A & B) for each VGA wall plate. The "A" connector on
the switcher must be connected to the "A" connector on the VGA wall plate.
No Display on Projector
1. Make sure the projector has power and is turned on.
2. Check the source and make sure there is a signal present. The Power/Signal Present LED on the VGA wall panel is
on and green.
3. Make sure the correct input is selected at the wall controller or at the switcher front panel.
Poor Output Image
1. The source resolution may not be compatible with the projector or other display device. Try other resolutions from
the source.
2. The source and display may not be compatible. Connect the source directly to the input of the projector or other
display device. If the image is poor the devices may be incompatible.
No Sound
1. Make sure the audio cable from the PC is plugged all the way into the jack on the VGA wall panel.
2. Make sure the PC is playing audio and that the audio is turned up to a reasonable level and not muted.
3. Make sure the system is not muted. If it is, the mute key on the wall controller will be on an illuminated red.
4. Turn the volume knob on the controller to the right. If the controller has power the green LED indicators above
the knob will turn on to indicate the new volume level.
