If you are using solid fat, remove the frying basket from the fryer before the fat in
the tank solidies. Wash the frying basket in hot soapy water. Take great care as the
fat may splatter when it comes into contact with the water. Alternatively, leave the
frying basket on a heatproof surface to cool after removing if from the fryer.
Frying Guidelines
The frying times stated below are guides only. Frying times will vary depending on the
amount of food, the size of the food pieces, the spacing of the food in the frying basket, the
freshness of the food and personal taste. As you become familiar with your fryer you can
adjust cooking times to suit your personal preference. For larger or smaller quantities adjust
the time accordingly.
Food Type Temp Time (minutes)
Shrimp 130°C 2-4 minutes
Mushrooms 150°C 3-5 minutes
Crumbed Chicken 180°C 10-12 minutes
Fish Cakes 160°C 3-5 minutes
Fillets 170°C 5 minutes
Onions 170°C 2-4 minutes
French Fries 190°C 8-10 minutes
Potato Chips 190°C 10-15 minutes
*Preheating at 190°C will normally take about 8-9 minutes.
Cooking Home-Battered Foods
This method requires extreme care.
1. Coat the food in batter and leave it to drain to remove any excess batter.
2. Ensure the correct cooking temperature has been reached.
When Cooking Has Been Completed
Return the frying basket to the fryer, turn the temperature control to the MIN. Switch o
the mains socket and unplug the fryer. Pull out the mains cable and store the mains cable in
the mains cable storage. Now leave the appliance to completely cool before cleaning.
14
Cleaning the Fryer
Clean your fryer thoroughly after every use once your fryer has completely cooled down.
Cleaning the Frying Basket
The frying basket and handle should be washed in warm soapy water, rinsed and dried.
Cleaning the Lid
The lid should be washed in warm soapy water, rinsed and dried.
Cleaning the Oil Tank
Ensure the fryer has completely cooled down, the lid has been removed and the fryer is
unplugged. Carefully lift and tilt the fryer to the left and pour the oil o into a suitable
receptacle from the left rear corner. (If you are left-handed use the right corner.) Pour warm
soapy water into the tank and wash it well. Rinse in fresh water and allow to dry.
If you are using solid fat
Remove the frying basket before the fat has cooled. Remove as much of the cooled fat as
possible with a plastic spatula before washing the tank. Ensure the washing water is hot
enough to remove all traces of fat from the tank. When washing the oil tank ensure you do
not damage the interior surface.
Wipe the body of the fryer with a damp cloth and dry well. Never immerse the body in any
liquid.
Cleaning the Fryer Casing
Wipe the exterior of the fryer with a damp cloth. Do not

Maintenance
Filtering and Changing the Oil
Make sure the fryer is unplugged and has completely cooled down. On average, oil can be
used 8 to 12 separate times before it needs to be changed. If you are frying sh or battered
foods then you will need to change the oil more often. Filter the oil to get rid of any food
that has fallen through the frying basket and into the oil.
Storing the Oil
Store the oil in an air tight container at room temperature away from heat and light sources.
Mains Cable Storage
Wrap the mains cable loosely and place into the mains cable storage space at the back of
the fryer.
Storing the Fryer
The fryer can be stored in its box but do not store anything else on top of the box.

Hints and Tips
Use a recommended oil – do not mix oils or fats.
Take into account the type of food when you set the frying temperature. Generally, pre-
cooked foods need a higher cooking temperature than raw foods.
If you need to add oil, do so between batches. Allow a short time for the oil to heat up
to the right temperature.
Ensure there is enough room to open the appliance lid and operate the frying basket.
Cook food thoroughly. Remember that food may turn golden brown before it has
cooked through.
Use the fryer in a well-ventilated area. All food contains moisture which turns to steam
during frying. Most of this steam escapes through the lter in the lid.
Do not lean over the fryer when cooking food or when opening the lid.
Problem / Cause Solution
Oil overflows
Not changing the oil regularly
enough.
Change the oil after about every 8 to 12 separate
uses.
The frying basket is overloaded. Do not fill the frying basket above the top edge.
The oil is filled above the MAX
mark.
Fill the oil tank with oil between the MIN and MAX
marks.
The oil is reacting with frozen or
wet food.
Dry out the food or scrape away the frost before
frying.
The fryer does not work
It is not plugged in. Make sure your fryer is plugged in and that the
mains cable is in good working order.
You have not turned the
temperature control.
Ensure the temperature control has been set
correctly.
You have not attached the control
box properly.
Unplug the fryer if it is plugged in, then try
attaching the control box again. Plug in the fryer
and turn it on again.
Reset button is continuously on. Ensure the oil level is between the MIN and MAX
marks.
Food is not frying properly
Frying basket may be too full. Reduce the amount of food in the frying basket.
Food pieces may be too big or are
heavily coated in ice.
Cut up the large pieces of food, and/or scrape off
the ice.
Oil temperature may not be high
enough.
Use the temperature control to increase the
temperature.
The food is not thoroughly cooked. Fry the food for a longer time. Food may turn
golden brown before it has cooked through.
