3 INSERTING BATTERIES (REMOTE CONTROL)
3A Unscrew the screw on the battery cover.
3B Remove the battery cover and insert 4 x 1.5 V AAA batteries. Pay attention to the direction in
which they must be inserted - as indicated in the battery compartment.
3C Place the battery cover on the remote control and screw closed.
4 CHARGING THE HELICOPTER
Please note: The battery must be allowed to cool down for 10 to 15 minutes after each flight
before being charged. Failure to do so may result in the battery becoming damaged. The charg-
ing process is electronically monitored, but do not leave it unsupervised.
• Switch off the helicopter.
• Insert the USB plug in an open USB port (4A).
Carefully insert the charging cable in the charge socket of the helicopter
(4B)
. The plug must be gently inserted into the charging socket
DO NOT USE FORCE
. If the plug
is not correctly inserted into the charging socket, the helicopter may become damaged and, under
certain circumstances, become an injury risk.
• The charging process is complete as soon as the USB plug illuminates.
• After the charging process has been completed, disconnect the USB plug from the USB port and
from the helicopter.
A charge time of approx. 35 minutes using the USB charger cable will allow the helicopter
to fly for approx. 5 minutes.
5 PREPARING FOR TAKE-OFF
The thrust controller (the left controller on the remote control) must point down before being swit-
ched on (5A). Then press the remote control‘s ON/OFF switch; the Power LED begins to blink (5B).
Now set the ON/OFF switch on the bottom of the helicopter to „ON“ (5C). Place the helicopter on
the ground so that its tail points toward you (5D). Now move the thrust control to full throttle and
back to zero, and then wait until the LED on the helicopter stops blinking. The helicopter is now
ready for take-off.
6 STEERING TRIM ADJUSTMENT
The correct trimming is a basic requirement for achieving fault-free flying from the helicopter. Its
adjustment is simple, but it requires some patience and a feel for it. Please carefully observe the
following instructions: Carefully move the thrust controller upward to increase the helicopter‘s
altitude to approximately 0.5 to 1 metres.
6A If the helicopter automatically rotates clockwise…
If the rotator begins to automatically rotate clockwise quickly or slowly, tap left the trim button
until the helicopter no longer rotates automatically.
6B If the helicopter automatically rotates anti-clockwise …
If the rotator begins to automatically rotate anticlockwise quickly or slowly, tap right the trim
button until the helicopter no longer rotates automatically.
7 FLIGHT CONTROL
7A Take off or increase altitude by carefully moving the thrust controller forward.
Land or fly lower by moving the thrust controller backward. Only minimal corrections to the
controller are necessary to ensure smoothing flying of the helicopter!
7B Fly forward by carefully moving the directional controller forward.
Fly backward by carefully moving the controller backward.
7C To fly along a left-handed curve, carefully move the directional controller to the left, as long
as the helicopter tail is facing toward the pilot.
To fly along a right-handed curve, carefully move the directional controller to the right, as long
as the helicopter tail is facing toward the pilot.
FLYING MULTIPLE HELICOPTERS SIMULTANEOUSLY
Up to two pilots can fly their helicopters simultaneously! To do so, proceed as follows:
Pilot 1 switches on his/her remote control and helicopter as described under point 5.
Pilot 1 sets his/her remote control aside without switching it or the helicopter off.
Pilot 2 switches his/her remote control. Now press the channel selector button for 2 sec.
- the Power LED briefly blinks 2x and the remote control has been set to the 2nd channel.
Pilot 2 switches on his/her helicopter. Now move the thrust control to full throttle and back to zero. Once
the LED on the helicopter stops blinking it is ready for use. They can now be flown at the same time!
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SAFE FLYING
GENERAL FLYING TIPS:
• Always place the helicopter on a level surface. An inclined surface can, under certain
circumstances, negatively effect the helicopter during take-off.
• Always operate the controls slowly and with a gentle touch.
• Always maintain visual contact with the helicopter and do not look at the remote control!
• Move the thrust controller somewhat down again once the helicopter has lifted off from the
ground. Maintain flying altitude by adjusting the thrust controller.
• If the helicopter descends, move the thrust controller slightly upward again.
• If the helicopter climbs, move the thrust controller down slightly.
• To fly along a curve, tapping the directional controller very slightly in the respective direction
often suffices. There is a general tendency during preliminary attempts at flight to operate the
helicopter‘s controls too aggressively Always operate the controls slowly and carefully. Never
fast and fitfully.
• Beginners should first master trimming before attempting to master the thrust controller. It is
not necessary for the helicopter to fly straight at first. It is far more important to maintain a
constant height of approximately one metre above the ground by repeatedly tapping the
thrust controller. Only then should the pilot practise steering the helicopter left and right.
SUITABLE FLYING ENVIRONMENT:
The location in which the helicopter is flown should fulfil the following criteria:
• It should be an indoor location without any wind. Insofar as possible, there should be no air
conditioning systems, heaters, etc. that can cause air currents.
• The room should be at least 10 metres long, six metres wide and three metres high.
• No disruptive objects, such as fans, lamps, etc. should be present in the room.
• When initialising take-off, make absolutely sure that all persons and animals – including the pilot
– are at least 1-2 metres removed from the aircraft before flight begin.
• Always watch the aircraft to ensure it does not fly into and injure the pilot, other people or animals.
WARNING!
Flying model aircraft and helicopters outdoors has required mandatory liability insurance since
2005. Contact your private liability insurer and make sure that your new and earlier models are
included in your insurance coverage. Request written confirmation and keep this in a safe place.
Alternatively, the DMFV offers a trial membership free of charge online at www.dmfv.aero. This
includes insurance.

information on all Revell Control models.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem: The rotor blades do not move.
Cause: • The ON/OFF switch is set to the "OFF" position.
• The battery is too weak or depleted.
• The helicopter is not ready.
Remedy: • Set the ON/OFF switch to the "ON" position.
• Charge the battery.
Move the thrust controller fully forward and then back to its starting position – wait 5 sec.
Problem: The helicopter stops and descends during flight for no
apparent reason.
Cause: • The battery is too weak.
• The infrared connection has been disrupted (e.g. lighting too bright).
Remedy: • Charge the battery.
• Safeguard the infrared connection by changing location if necessary.
Problem: The helicopter cannot be controlled.
Cause: • A third-party infrared signal is disrupting signal transmission.
• Signal transmission is being affected by a strong light source.
Remedy: • Avoid or switch off potentially disruptive infrared sources.
• Use the helicopter at a different location.
Problem: The helicopter only rotates around its axis clockwise or
anti-clockwise.
Cause: • Excessive trim adjustment to the left or right
Remedy: • Reset the trim adjustment by pressing the trim button in the appropriate direction
(see section 6, Steering Trim Adjustment).
Additional tips and tricks can be found online at www.revell-control.de.
8 CHANGING THE ROTOR BLADES
Unscrew the two screws on the retaining clip (8A). Loosen the retaining clip on the rotor blades
by carefully lifting the retaining tab with a small screwdriver, etc. (8B). Slide the retaining clip
upward, then you can pull off the rotor blades to either side (8C). Fit the new rotor blades onto
the rotor head and make sure that the blades fit together cleanly in the process. Then slide the
retaining clip back onto the rotor blades until it snaps into place (8D). Screw the two screws back
in the retaining clip (8E). Before replacing the upper rotor blades, first remove the control rods
from the rotor blades (8F). Otherwise replace the upper blades in the exact same manner as
the lower blades.
