INSTALLER: the person/company responsible for the design, con-
struction and programming of the burglar alarm system.
USER: the person(s) using the burglar alarm system.
Description of use
The PROXINETW2 burglar alarm control unit is designed to increa-
se security in residential and service environments, even in places
where a wired system would be particularly difficult to install.
Any installation and operation that differs from what is set
out in this manual is prohibited.
Security
If properly designed, the burglar alarm system guarantees a high
level of security for the environments it is protecting and the users
that are using it.
To ensure this, we need to follow certain rules:
Installation must be carried out by qualified and experienced
personnel in compliance with applicable regulations.
Check the main power connections and relative earth con-
nections.
Once system startup is complete, make sure that the user has
changed the default user code (123456).
EN 50131 STANDARD - SPECIFIC RECOMMENDATIONS
To ensure the system complies with the EN 50131 standard, it
is very important to follow the recommendations below:
the sound signals (buzzers) from the readers cannot be
disabled;
the “Memory” type input must not be used;
the inputs configured as “Arming” are only suitable if they are
commanded by devices with more than 10,000 combinations;
the fault signalling of the devices connected to the system is
not required by the standard, but if a device is equipped with this
signal, this must be connected to the input defined as faulty in the
control unit;
the telephone dialler must be active;
an external self-powered siren must be present in the system
to signal that the burglar alarm has been triggered;
the command to force arming of areas with open inputs must
not be armed;
the number of alarms for self-exclusion of an input must be
set between 3 and 10;
the no mains signal time must be set to 1 minute;
the battery test time must be set to more than 5 minutes;
quick arming must not be enabled;
the option to stop communication once the control unit is
switched off must not be enabled;
the Input 1 and Input 2 times can be set to a maximum of 45
seconds;
the system masking time must be set to ≤ 30 seconds;
the pre-arming test must be enabled.

Always wire the bus in “in and out” mode. Do not wire the bus in a
star configuration.
If you need this configuration, follow the instructions given in this
chapter.
In the case of long bus stretches, always install 150 ohm resistors
between terminals A and B of both bus heads.
The maximum cable length (maximum 800 m stretches) and the
cross-section of the core depend on the number of modules and
the overall current draw on the various bus stretches. As the cur-
rent draw increases, so does the voltage drop on the cables and the
supply voltage to the devices on the bus decreases.
The voltage at all the + and - terminals of the bus devices (keypads,
readers, modules...) should not be less than 12 V DC.
If it is less, add an auxiliary power supply, disconnecting the positive
and keeping the negative common.
RS-485 bus wiring
APPLICATION NOTES REGARDING WIRING THE RS-485 BUS
The wiring on the bus connecting the control unit to the readers,
keypads and amplifiers must follow the rules dictated by the RS-
485.
Use shielded twisted cables only, with a cross-section of at least:
󰽤 2x0.5 mm² for the power supply and 2x0.22mm² twi-
sted for data.
󰽥 2x0.5 mm² for the power supply and 2x2x0.22mm² twi-
sted for data (use to create branches).
The braid must be continuous and connected to the negative (-)
terminal on the control unit.
CHOOSING THE CROSS-SECTION OF THE RS-485 BUS CABLE
The recommended cable for the RS-485 bus is:
Twisted and shielded cable - grade 4 (600/1000 V).
One twisted pair for data - cross-section 2x0.22 mm².
One pair for power supply - cross-section 2x0.5 mm²
or higher depending on the distances and currents (see
table below).
Please find a table below to help you calculate the cross-section of
the power cables as the distance and current draw vary.

The supply voltage drop should not exceed 1.4 V (voltage
measured on the power supply terminals and the terminals on the
bus device that is furthest away).
If a cable with a suitable cross-section is not available, the use
of additional auxiliary power supplies should be taken into
consideration.
Example: Let’s assume we have connected the following at a
distance of 200 m:
A PXWKTB/PXWKTN keypad (maximum current draw 60
mA)
A PXITU transponder reader (maximum current draw 100
mA)
A PXWRX radio expansion module (maximum current
draw 100 mA)
Having a maximum current draw of 260 mA, in this case, the
alternatives are to use a cable with a cross-section of 1.5 mm²
or a cable with a cross-section of 0.5 mm² and an auxiliary power
supply connected at the end of the line as shown below:

WIRING WITH BRANCHING
The branching consists of a cable with 3 pairs of which 2
are twisted (each pair is composed of cores A and B). Analysing the
circuit thus produced, we note that the structure of the RS-485 bus
continues to be linear (in-out).

If the remote devices have been installed correctly, all the
BUS communication LEDs on each device will flash. If some do
not flash, this means that the device has not been installed and
programmed correctly (check control unit wiring, addressing and
programming).

After disconnecting the mains power supply, remove the Ple-
xiglas protection on the terminal block by unscrewing the two
screws attached to the transformer 󰒄.
Connect the 230 V AC Line and Neutral cable to the terminal
block terminals (the power supply cables must enter the pre-
drilled hole󰒅)
Replace the Plexiglas protection on the terminal block, secu-
ring it to the transformer with the two screws.
U1 is an output (freely-programmable) which provides a positive
when active:
U1 ON = 13.8 V DC
U1 OFF = not connected
The default programming is TC for the inhibition of the microwave
with the system is off (U1 = OFF if at least one area is on or in exit
time; U1 = ON if the system is completely off).
The output is protected by a 100 ohm resistor.
It can also be used to command sirens or other loads.
PROGRAMMABLE OUTPUT U2, U3, U4 (Open Collector)
A short circuit to 12 V DC with the output active for an extended
time may lead to the breakage of the protection resistor.
Non-self-powered siren
U2, U3, U4 are open collector outputs (freely-programmable) that
provide a negative when they are active:
U2, U3, U4 ON = 0 V DC
U2, U3, U4 OFF = not connected
The outputs are protected by 100 ohm resistors.
Wiring the outputs

A short circuit to earth with the output active for an extended
time may lead to the breakage of the protection resistor.
Securing to the wall
Install the control unit away from access points and points that are
difficult to identify.
Secure to a suitable wall that can support the control unit over time.
Make the holes and channel to pass the cables through before in-
stallation.
Use the 2 prepared holes for securing to the wall.
Powering the control unit

Provide a suitable dual-pole disconnection device (circuit
breaker), with a maximum of 3 mm between the contacts, to

If you want to control a relay with an open collector output (or relay
output), it is necessary to add a diode (1N4007) in parallel with the
relay coil.

BOARD DESCRIPTION
1. RS-485 bus terminals for connecting keypads and readers:

INSTALLATION
The keypads must be wall-mounted in sheltered environments,

Assemble the PXKIN/PXKIB keypad in a unified recessed box with
three modules with commercially-available plates. The recessed
box must be installed flush with the wall at an appropriate height.

The keypad address is assigned by the control unit during addressing.
User interface
Subsequent descriptions apply to both
PXWKTN/PXWKTB-PXKD-PXKIN/PXKIB keypads connected on the
bus and the local keypad built into the control unit.
KEYPAD DISPLAY
The display consists of two lines of 16 graphic characters. At rest,
the keypad goes into “Power saving” mode, decreasing the light
intensity after a set time.
On some models of keypad, below the display, there are 16 num-
bers that facilitate the interpretation of the second line of the di-
splay, with the following key:
“Flat” capacitive keypads in black (PXWKTN) or white
(PXWKTB), with hatch (PXKD) or black LED (PXKIN) or white
LED (PXKIB) which can be connected to the bus. Can be wall-
mounted or recessed. Blue backlit LCD, touch-sensitive keys
(PXWKTN/PXWKTB) or membrane keys (PXKD).

The reporting of events that occur at the same time follows
the following priority: alarms, exit times, faults. The on-screen di-
splay occurs cyclically.
ALPHANUMERIC KEYPAD
Keys Functions
The alphanumeric keys allow users to enter codes,
select the areas being armed and edit the para-
meters.
Menu navigation and selection keys.
Parameter editing keys.
After entering the code, users gain access to the
User Menu. If pressed for more than 5 seconds, it
allows access to the keypad menu.
Scenario launch keys.
System shutdown key.
KEYPAD MENU
The Keypad Menu is independent from the control unit menu and
allows users to set various keypad characteristics such as the lan-
guage, the contrast and brightness of the display, the illumination
of the keys and the system status LEDs, and other functions as
shown in the table below.
To enter the Keypad Menu, press and hold for a few seconds,
until the Keypad <|> language screen appears on the display. Then use
the keys to navigate and select as shown.
Keypad <|> cleaning enables users to clean the keypad safely. Entering
the values with 󰯯, a 30-second countdown begins, during which
the keypad is not active. At the end, it automatically returns to the
menu.
Keypad <|> version allows users to view the software version of the
keypad only.
Press [#] twice in a row to exit the Keypad Menu. After 60 seconds
have passed with no operation, the keypad automatically exits the
Keypad Menu.
The LEARNING menu is only available on radio keypads.

SYSTEM STATUS ALERTS
The system status alerts behave according to installer program-
ming. Depending on installer programming, the display can be kept
always visible (LEDs and display visible) or masked for improved
safety (no system status information given to unauthorised per-
sons). Only the alarm LEDs (RED for the readers and YELLOW for
the keypads) remain visible if activated. Following the activation of
a scenario or any other system management activity, after a pro-
grammed time (30 seconds max.), all the other LED and display
alerts are interrupted and the LEDs go off.
SYSTEM STATUS ALWAYS DISPLAYED

(230 V AC) is absent; the battery of a radio pe-
ripheral device needs to be replaced; a fuse
needs to be replaced; a fault input is unbalan-
ced; the clock has not been initialised; there is
a problem on the PSTN or GSM line; the GSM
module SIM has expired.

The PXITU reader is a transponder reader for PXTAG keys, which
can be used to manage alarm system arming/disarming, using up
to 3 adjustable scenarios.
The key is used to manage the system via the reader. It contains
no batteries and must first be acquired by the control unit in order
to operate.
Each key is recognised uniquely within the control unit and the
event log.

INSTALLATION
The connector occupies just one module in the switchboxes of any
residential-use system.
Connect the control unit and readers on the respective terminals
[+ A B -].
For addressing and acquiring the readers and keys, see the rele-
vant chapters.
The readers must be installed in an area protected from break-
ins or in a guarded area of the system, otherwise the reference
standard is voided.
DISPLAYING THE SYSTEM STATUS

With the transponder reader, you can view the system status

PXWRX
Receiver to for two-way communication with all the radio devices

Accessories
PXGSM
Telephone dialler suitable for all Proxinet control units, complete
with whip antenna. It allows users to send SMSs and voice mes-
sages as well as receive SMSs and DTMF commands for remote
control.
BOARD DESCRIPTION
Secure the antenna 󰒄 to the Plexiglas protection 󰒅 covering the
terminal block, then connect it to the PXGSM interface 󰒆 and se-
cure the latter with the three turrets 󰒇 supplied to the control unit
board 󰒈.
Connect PXGSM from connector 󰒊 to connector CN2 󰒋 on the
control unit board.
Power the control unit and, after a minute, check that the green
LED DL1 󰒉 on PXGSM indicates the SIM has been registered cor-
rectly, flashing slowly .
PXLAN/PXWEB LAN INTERFACES
The SSIP interface enables the user to program, read the
configuration and display the status of the control unit from a PC
using the PxManager program.
In addition to offering the same functions as the SSIP interface, the
SPXWEB interface also enables the user to control the unit using a
keypad simulated by a web page.
For remote connection to the SSIP and SPXWEB interfaces,
it is necessary to configure the router connected to the domestic
network (see relative instruction manual).
Attach the interface card 󰒄 to the four turrets 󰒅 positioned on the
Plexiglas bracket 󰒆 already installed in the control unit board 󰒇.

PXKNX
The PKNX interface card greatly expands the communication pos-
sibilities of Proxinet control units, enabling them to communicate
with the KNX system. It is connected to the port available on all
control units and in turn makes the communication ports available.
BOARD DESCRIPTION
a Main RS232 port;
USB port. A USB port is available for connecting to a PC in order
to perform programming with the PxManager software. In this case,
the connection between the control unit and the PC is direct and
can be made using a simple USB cable.
- During USB connection to the PC, or when PXWEB connection
is active, communication from the control unit to the KNX BUS is
interrupted.
- The USB connection is not active in the presence of PXWEB cards.

Second RS232 port: This connects the device to the control unit
via the PXWEB terminal block when present.
INSTALLATION
CAUTION. In order for a security event to be properly published

INSERTING THE SIM CARD
The SIM card must be inserted and removed while the power is
disconnected.
After powering on the control unit, check that the GSM LED indica-
tes that the SIM has been registered correctly.
The SIM card (not included) must have the following characteristics:
- VOICE + SMS: incoming/outgoing calls and SMS management,
- VOICE + SMS + DATA:connection to the Cloud, e-mailing for video
verification,
- VOICE + SMS + MMS: sending MMSs for video verification.
INSTALLATION
With the control unit not powered, connect the connector on the
module to the CN1 connector on the control unit, using the flat cable
supplied and, if present, connect the accessories to the module via
the dedicated connectors.
Insert the SIM into the slot .
Secure the PXGPRS module to the control unit board using the tur-
rets supplied, making sure to connect the IGSM connector cor-
rectly to the CN2 connector.
CONFIGURATION
The device is detected automatically by the control unit. To register
the device on CameConnect (www.cameconnect.net), please refer
to the relative manual.

Copy the file “camesecurity_<major>-<minor>.bin” to the first le-
vel of a USB drive.
1. Remove the USB-ETH (PXDGETH) or USB-WIFI (PXDGWF) dongle
to free up a USB port.
2. Insert the drive on which the new software has been saved in the
USB connector.
3. After a few seconds, the red DL2 LED and the green DL1 LED light

Managing the control unit using the Came Mobile app
Using the Came Mobile app , just a few clicks means you can
securely connect to your control unit and check the status of all
the environments, activate scenarios and interact with your home
remotely, simply from your smartphone or tablet.
In order to manage the control unit via the Came Mobile app, you
must first install firmware version 2.3.00 or later, install the PXGPRS
GPRS module and install the Came Domotic app 1.4.7 or later on
your smartphone/tablet.
Security can be managed via a local connection, connecting directly
to the IP address of the PXGPRS module interfaces (in this case,
the PXDGWF or PXDGETH accessories are necessary) or via remote
connection - in this case, you need to register on the CameConnect
portal (see CameConnect chapter).
CONFIGURING CONNECTIVITY
The PXGPRS module can be connected to CameConnect using a
GPRS connection, Ethernet connection (using the PXDGETH acces-
sory) or WiFi connection (using the PXDGWF accessory).
To program the parameters related to connectivity, use the fol-
lowing: PXManager in version 2.1.4, while for programming the
graphic maps, Came D Sw software version 1.2.2 or later is re-
quired.
CameConnect connectivity via GPRS [GPRS]
If connecting to CameConnect via GPRS, set the following:
a Select [GPRS] from the types of connection.
Select [Connectivity] [GSM].
Enter the [APN] (Access Point Name).
Generally, telephone operators publish this information on their
websites.
If you need to change the telephone number.
Enter the [User Name] and [Password] for data connection.

CameConnect connectivity via Ethernet [ETHERNET]
If connecting to CameConnect via Ethernet , it is necessary to use
the PXDGETH accessory to connect to the user network.
In the default configuration, the Ethernet interface is confi-
gured in static mode with the following IP address: 192.168.1.100.
These settings should be adapted to the customer’s network.
To set up connectivity via Ethernet, you must:
a Select [ETHERNET] from the types of connection.
Select [Connectivity] [ETHERNET].
Enable the DHCP Server if present in the customer’s network. In
this way, the PXGPRS module automatically acquires the network
parameters.
In the case of programming with DHCP, if a reading of the
control unit configuration is taken, the IP Address/Netmask fields
show the address acquired by the interface dynamically.
If you want to set up the module with a static address, disable this
preference.
Set the parameters in a manner consistent with the network
where the device is connected. You also need to set the DNSs for
connectivity to CameConnect.

In addition to connection to CameConnect for remote management,
the PXDGETH accessory also allows the control unit to be connected

CameConnect connectivity via WIFI [WIFI]
If connecting to CameConnect via WiFi , it is necessary to use the
PXDGWF accessory. In this case, it is necessary to connect the mo-
dule to the user’s WiFi network.
In the default configuration, the WiFi is configured as an Access
Point so that the PIR Camera sensors (IR sensors related to video
verification) or other network devices can connect directly to it.
- The default SSID is “CameSecurity-xxxx” (where xxxx are the last
4 digits of the keycode)
- Password: <Random string of 16 characters>
The WiFi data is written on the label inside the package.
To connect the GSM module to a home WiFi network, you must:
a Select [WIFI] from the types of connection.
Select [Connectivity] [WIFI].
Uncheck [Access point mode] in order to set WiFi mode as ‘Sta-
tion’.
Enter [SSID] and select the type of [PROTECTION] of the Custo-
mer’s network.
Enter the [PASSWORD] for the Customer’s network.
Enable the DHCP Server if present in the customer’s network. In
this way, the PXGPRS module automatically acquires the network
parameters.
In the case of programming with DHCP, if a reading of the
control unit configuration is taken, the IP Address/Netmask fields
show the address acquired by the interface dynamically.
If the customer’s network does NOT feature a DHCP Server, disable
function f and manually enter the parameters related to the custo-
mer’s network .
In addition to connection to CameConnect for remote management,
the PXDGWF accessory also allows the control unit to be connected
to a local network so that it can be managed by Came TouchScre-
ens and using the Came Domotic app on the same local network.
The device’s Wi-Fi network is hidden, so it is not visible on
scanning. To connect to the WiFi network, you have to enter the
SSID/Password credentials (see manual of the operating system of
the PC on which you are working).
To connect to the WiFi network, you have to enter the SSID/Pas-
sword credentials (see operating system manual).
