1 PREFACE
This manual is for anyone who must install or use the remote
control for Robur AD evaporative cooler.
This manual especially applies to the electrician who must con-
nect the heating unit to the electrical system and to the end user
who must check that it functions properly.
This manual is also for the technicians regarding the main ser-
vice and maintenance operations.
Before operating on the device, please carefully read
throught the instruction in this manuale.
This instrument has been designed to operate without risk for
the set purposes provided that the following indications are
followed:
Installation, use and maintenance are performed according
to the instructions of this manual.
Supply voltage and environmental conditions fall within the
values indicated on the product label.
Any contractual or extra-contractual liability of the man-
ufacturer for any damage caused by incorrect installa-
tion and/or improper use and/or failure to comply with
regulations and with the manufacturer's directions/in-
structions shall be disclaimed.
In particular, the warranty on the appliance may be ren-
dered void by the following conditions:
Incorrect installation.
Misuse.
Failure to comply with the manufacturer's indications on
installation, use and maintenance.
Alteration or modication of the product or any part
thereof.
Extreme operational conditions or however outside of
the operational ranges set forth by the manufacturer.

3 ELECTRICAL HOOKUP
We recommend you:
To avoid crossing cables by separating very low connections
from load-referred connections.
While establishing connections to evaporative cooling mod-
ule follow carefully the specic instructions and information
provided by manufacturer.
We remind you that the instrument is not protected from elec-
trical overloading:
Beware to equip outputs with necessary security devices;
Make sure that employment conditions like supply tension,
environment temperature and humidity are within the indi-
cated limits.

5 OPERATING MODE
Change the dip switch only with the machine o.
Change the position of the dip switch of the electronic board of
the cooler, depending on the type of remote control used (Table
5.1
p.6
).

6 COMMAND DESCRIPTION

Pressed during normal operations, shows the time set.
UP-HOUR
Pressed briey during the programming phases TIMER: changes the hours.
Pressed once during modifying default parameters: increases the value.
Pressed once after pressing FAN command, increases fan speed and/or disables automatic fan speed.
It allows you to set, if you are viewing the time, the hours of the instrument clock.
Pressed together with the DW-MIN key for more than 2 seconds, it allows access to the parameter modication menu.

Pressed for 1 second at least during normal operation: changes the TIMER activity: Ventilation ON; AUTO ventilation; Cooling ON;
AUTO cooling.
PRG
Press briey: enter TIMER programming and select TIMER programs.
Pressed briey during programming: performs the function of conrm/ENTER key.
FAN
Pressed briey: displays the selected fan speed and allows access to the fan speed modication phase.
POWER
Pressed for more than 1 second: switches the cooling unit on or o.
Pressed for more than 3 seconds with the keypad locked it allows the keypad to be released temporarily.
Pressed briey during the TIMER programming phase: allows you to exit the TIMER menu.
Pressed once during modifying default parameters: exits the SETUP menu.
TEMPERATURE
Pressed briey: displays the detected temperature.
Pressed for more than 5 seconds: allows setting the temperature setpoint.
HUMIDITY
Pressed briey: displays the detected humidity.
Pressed for more than 5 seconds: allows setting the humidity setpoint.

7 LOCKING/UNLOCKING THE REMOTE CONTROL UNIT
To lock the remote command unit, the HL parameter value must
be set as YES.
With the remote command unit locked, the following operations
are not allowed:
setting the default parameters
setting the remote command unit operating mode
displaying the fan speed
displaying the detected temperature and humidity
Programming the setpoint
programming the current time
programming the ON/OFF periods
When the remote control is locked, display shows “loc” when
pressing any key.
To temporarily unlock the remote control unit, hold the
button pressed until the display shows "OFF". The remote control
unit returns automatically to locked status after 15 sec.
8 REMOTE CONTROL UNIT ON/OFF
To switch the control on or o, press the button for at least
2 seconds. In both cases, when the command is o, the display
shows the word "OFF".
The control remains powered even when it is o.
9 VIEW/CHANGE FAN SPEED
To display the fan speed:
1. Press the key, the display now shows the fan speed.
2. To exit the procedure press the or button or wait
8 sec. without operating on the keyboard.
To change the fan speed:
1. Press the key, the display now shows the current fan
speed.
2. Press the key to increase the speed value or to deacti-
vate the automatic mode.
3. Press the key to decrease the speed value or to activate
the automatic mode.
4. To exit the procedure and record the changes press the
or button or wait 8 sec. without operating on the
keyboard.
The fan speed may take on 3 values:
F3: maximum fan speed
F2: average fan speed
F1: minimum fan speed
To set the automatic fan speed:

1. Press the key, the display now shows the current fan
speed.
2. Press the key and keep it pressed until the display
shows the message "AUtO".
3. To exit the procedure and record the changes press the
or button or wait 8 sec. without operating on the
keyboard.
To disable the automatic fan speed:
1. Press the key, the display now shows the word "AUtO".
2. Press the key until the desired speed "F1" – "F2" – "F3"
appears on the display.
3. To exit the procedure and record the changes press the
or button or wait 10 sec. without operating on
the keyboard.
The fan speed automatic mode, "AUtO", can only be set if
temperature and humidity sensor is properly connected
to the display module.
If automatic mode is set, the fan, depending on the deviation
from the setpoint temperature, will operate at one of the follow-
ing three speeds (Figure 9.1
p.8
).

10 REMOTE CONTROL UNIT OPERATING MODE
Press the button to change the machine action: Manual
ventilation / Manual cooling / Auto.
In ventilation mode drain is always open.
11 PASSWORD PROTECTION PARAMETERS
It is possible to lock the remote control unit to avoid unauthor-
ised tampering. When you enter the parameters lists "user" / "in-
staller" / "factory", the display shows "PA" and a password may
be required.
1. Press the key to enter the password value.
2. Type the right password using key and , press
once the key again.
3. If the correct password has been entered, the rst parameter
of the list will be displayed, otherwise it will be possible to
view and modify only the parameters of the list "user".
In both cases, the conguration icon " " will light on
when browsing the parameters list and blinking when
changing the parameter value.
To enter the “user” list only, when the display shows "PA",
just press twice the key.

12 SETTING PARAMETERS
The device has 3 parameter lists; "user", "installer" and "factory".
To enter/modify the “user” parameter list, it is not necessary to
insert the right password, instead the correct password is re-
quired to enter/modify the "installer" and "factory" parameters.
To enter the parameters list proceed as follows:
1. Press the and keys for at least 2 seconds.
2. The display shows "PA":
3. To set the “installer or manufacturer list enter the correct
PAssword (see Paragraphs 11
p.8

).
4. To set the "user" parameters only, press twice .
5. Press or to locate the parameter to alter/set.
6. Press the key to display the parameter value.
7. Press the or button to change the value.
8. Press the button again to go back to the parameter list.
To save changes and exit the parameter setting, press
or wait 30 sec.

15 SETTING TEMPERATURE SETPOINT VALUE
1. Press and hold the button until "SP" is displayed.
2. Once you release the key , the display shows the tem-
perature set value.
3. Use the and buttons to increase or decrease the
value
4. To save changes and exit the setting, press or or

The temperature setpoint range is 10-40 °C.

16 SETTING HUMIDITY SETPOINT VALUE
1. Press and hold the button until “rH” is displayed
2. Once you release the key , the display shows the hu-
midity set value.
3. Use the and buttons to increase or decrease the
value
4. To save changes and exit the setting, press or or
wait 15sec.
The humidity setpoint range is 10-100 %.
17 SETTING OF CURRENT TIME
To display the current time:
1. Press and hold the button until "timE" is displayed.
2. Now release the pressed button, the set time appears on the
display. This display will remain on the display for the next 5
sec or until the button is pressed. Access to viewing/
changing the time is notied by turning on the congura-
tion icon " ".
To change the current time:
1. Press and hold the button until "timE" is displayed.
2. Now release the pressed button, the set time appears on the
display. Access to viewing/changing the time is notied by
turning on the conguration icon " ".
3. Use the button to set the day of the week, 1 = monday,
2 = tuesday, ..., 7 = sunday.
4. Use the button to set the current hour.
5. Use the button to set the current minute.
To return to the normal display wait 5 sec. without using the key-
board or press the key.
18 SETTIING ON/OFF PERIODS
1. Press the key until the device displays the word "Pr9",
release the key, the display now shows the rst memory lo-
cation, access to the timer programs is notied by the ash-
ing of the conguration icon " ".
2. Repeatedly press the key until the rst free memory
location "- -: - -" appears on the display.
3. Press the key to enter the desired day or combination
of days.
4. Press the or keys to enter the output switching
time.
5. Press the key to select whether the set event is a start-
up program in cooling " ", start-up only ventilation "
" or disabling of the outputs.

6. To record the program and select the next free memory lo-

20 EDITING A PROGRAM

can be changed using the , , and keys.
3. To record the changes press the key, to exit and return
to the previous display press the key or wait 30 sec-
onds without using the keyboard.
21 REMOVE A PROGRAM OR ALL PROGRAMS
1. Press the key, the rst memory location appears on the
display and the " " icon ashes.
2. Repeatedly press the key, what appears on the display
corresponds to a memory location.
3. To cancel the memory location, press and hold down the
key until the display shows the message "- -: - -".
4. To delete all the memory locations entered, press and hold
down the key until the display, after the message "- -: -
-", shows the word "EALL".
5. To exit and display the time of day, press the button.
22 DISPLAY SIGNALS

Device not in conformity, it is an error signal but indicates that one of the instruments, the keyboard or the power part, is not suited to work in combi-
nation with each other. Check the status of the dip 1 on the card on board.

23 FACTORY PARAMETERS

25 OPERATING MODE SELECTION: MASTER / SLAVE
Make sure the evaporative cooler is switched o and
without power supply before performing this operation.
In case of more power modules connected in parallel, just one of
them will be the master of the network, while the others will be
the slave modules.
In order to change a power module into a slave module, make a
bridge between V- and M/S (Figure 27.1
p.13
).
26 ALARMS
Alarms EA are related to the variation of the oat 1 status.
Parameter Y8 sets the delay in signalling the alarm of full tank;
should oat 1, full tank oat, not change its status within a time
Y8, it means that there is a problem with the tank ll and the
controller signal an alarm.
To exclude the alarm set Y8=0.
Parameter Y9 sets the delay in signalling the alarm of empty
