The display panel is composed of a 5” or 7” TFT display with 800x480 pixel resolution and a 6-key resistive
keyboard. A 4GB microSD is provided as standard, installed internally for recording functional data every
30 seconds with a memory capacity of about 10 years, a USB port located in the back of the panel for the
transfer of recorded temperature data, the configuration of the connected devices and the firmware
upgrade. The low voltage power supply comes from the control board. The data exchange between panel
and peripheral boards is via CANBUS port positioned in the back of the panel. Prepared for connection to
the controller boards and to the BRIDGE modules of ETHERNET, WI-FI, 3G connectivity towards the ATEX
CLOUD.

The drilling templates dimensions for the insertion of the display panel supplied in recessed boxes
measure respectively 198 x 120 mm [D4] and 162 x 94 mm [D3]. The fixing is done by means of two
jumpers supplied in the package.

The electrical connection between the panel and the controller must only be carried out using the 4-pole
serial cable supplied by the manufacturer. The panel must be mounted in a position that is not subjected

The functional data in the microSD memory can be saved via
USB port on a pen drive by accessing the BACKUP MENU
(par.13.4); this operation automatically creates the
VLX/BACKUP folders containing the folder named with the
serial number of the refrigeration unit at the time inserted in
the device configuration; if the S/N is not entered, the name
of the folder is R00000. The folder contains the folders of the
months [yyyymm] that contain the daily files [yyyymmdd.dat].
The latter are read and coded by the application for PC
Thermoconverter.The S/N folder also contains the folder
OP_PAR that contains the parametric configuration files of the
network-connected devices. The name of the files coincides
with the MACHINE NAME of the device shown in the header
of the Home Page.
Through the ERASE menu all backup data can be deleted from the microsd; access to the menu requires
the ADMIN password if different from zero.
Create the FRW and PAR folders on the root of a pen drive.
Generate the configuration parameters files for the connected
devices using the DATA BUILDER 4.0 application:

Insert the key into the USB port of the display panel and select the UPDATE menu; if a default parameter
settings is detected when the controller is turned on, it automatically switches to the BUILDER menu. In
the UPDATE menu select the device file and confirm the choice; in the same way for every device. If the
file logo.bmp, qr.bmp and logos.bmp are present in the PAR folder, these are automatically saved when
the .DIS file is updated.

When the configuration parameters are transferred from the pen drive, a copy is made in a micro-
controller flash partition and a copy in the micro SD. Through the REPLAY MENU you can retrieve the
default configurations of the devices to configure a new board.
If the display is replaced, the new device reads the EVO parameter that defines the main structure
of the user interface, from the controller board. If the microSD previously used from the old device
were available, its installation in the new device reconfigures the complete parameterisation of
the display via the REPLAY MENU.

DATA BUILDER 5.0 application is supplied with display panel D1 and has the function of generating and
reading the configuration files of the ATEX PRO controllers and display panel. It does not require
installation; simply open the executable from the folder that contains it. The generated files are saved in
a USB stick to be transferred to the devices to be configured.
The customer ID allows the disambiguation on the CLOUD when two refrigerated units belonging to
different Customers are connected with default data (same S/n and same refrigerator model).

The LOAD PARAMETRS FILE key opens a configuration file and presents the parameter map that can be
exported as a PDF file. The heading includes: device model, customer ID and filename.

Click the BUILD key of the SELECTION PAGE window to generate the configuration file of the PRO 1
example controller board; the next window opens with the default parameters.
Use the mouse to select the parameter value to be modified: the field changes color. Set the new value;
if red indicates an inconsistent value and is not accepted; otherwise, by selecting a new value with the
mouse pointer, the parameter just modified is saved and the color of the field takes on a different color
that differentiates it from an unmodified parameter. A click of the left mouse button on the acronym
displays the description of the parameter, the limits and the step until release.
Once the parameters have been completed, click the SAVE CTA key to generate the parameter file of a
single temperature refrigerator. The file name can not exceed the number of 8 characters; if major is
truncated. The file must be saved in the PAR folder inside the VLX folder of the USB stick. When the
refrigerating unit comprises a second temperature zone, first generate the parameter file for zone A (SAVE
CTA) and then generate the parameter file for zone B (SAVE CTB).

If a PRO1 or PRO2 device has been selected, the configuration must also be set for the monitor section
reachable by clicking on the MONITOR key. The saving takes place in the same way as controller section
for both single temperature units and double temperature units; in this configurationthe file parameter
extension is MNA and MNB respectively.
Click the BUILD key of the window relative to the D3 or D4 PANEL device; the following window opens
with the default parameters.

With power supply and unit in Stand-By mode the display shows frame of Fig.1; pressing the power button
for 3 seconds activates the power-on phase. With non-zero user password is required to complete the
start sequence. The password is set using the numeric keypad and confirmed with the ENTER key. If the
password has been set correctly, the device is turned on with the sequences shown below, otherwise the
ERROR frame is returned and the display returns in Stand-By mode. A typing error can be canceled with
the C key on the keypad. For units in stand-by we mean a device powered by the mains but with all the
loads disabled

If the display panel detects the presence of at least one device with firmware 0000 (debug version
not released), the DEBUG watermark will appear in all the frames.The removal is done by updating
all the devices to an officially released release and restarting the device.

In the single temperature configuration two types of Home Page are provided: EASY or SCIENTIFIC. The
external ESCAPE key selects one mode or the other. The header shows the MACHINE_NAME (in the
example LABORATORY) that can be edited from the SETTINGS MENU.
There are 7 squares corresponding, respectively, to the U1-U7 relay outputs. The U7 relay is only
present in the PRO1 and PRO2 control boards, therefore, in other configurations, the square will
be present but always disabled. The activation of an output changes the style of the square to a
lighter grey.
The event area shows the icons RED THERMOMETER in case of temperature alarm, RED SPANNER
in case of fault, ENVELOPE in case of event reset and not displayed in the EVENT LIST. In case of
simultaneous presence of FAULT and ALARM the temperature alarm icon has priority over the
fault icon.

If the display panel is connected with the control board the ALARM LIST is read only by the
monitor section while the FAULT LIST is read by both the control and the monitor section;
therefore, a possible temperature alarm detected by the controller section is ignored. Otherwise,
in case of fault or disabling of the monitor probe, the ALARM LIST is read by the controller section
while the FAULT LIST is ready by both the controller and the monitor section. The events recorded
by the controller boards in the ALARMS AND FAULTS LISTS are displayed in the EVENT LIST.
In the Scientific mode the graph traces the values of the compartment and setpoint temperature recorded
in the last 6 hours with sampling every 30 seconds (720 points) where the minimum and maximum values
of axis Y match the alarm limits of low temperature -1°C and high temperature +1°C. Shutting down the
controller deletes the mapping on display; when switched on again, the graph repopulates from right to
left.

The heading of the Home Page shows the connection statuses and the activities towards the Cloud for the
control devices that provide for the installation of the Bridge modules of Ethernet or WI-FI or 3G
connectivity. The rightmost icon indicates the type of bridge installed and the field strength. If the icon is
flashing it indicates a fault or disconnection status from the CANBUS network.

The display panel interfaces can be configured depending on the type of refrigerated unit on which it is
installed.
In case of redundant system, where the configuration is provided with two control boards in
alternate cycle mode, the operating status of zone A or B will be shown on the left instead of the
status of the relay outputs.
In case of redundant system, the scientific mode structure remains unchanged with respect to
the single temperature system.
