INTRODUCTION
Read through all of the instructions before starting installation.
Notifications and warning texts are for your safety and to
minimise the risk of something breaking during installation.
Ensure that all tools stated in the instructions are available
before starting installation.
Certain steps in the instructions are only presented in the form
of images. Explanatory text is also given for more complicated
steps.
In the event of any problems with the instructions or the
accessory, contact your local Volvo dealer.

Note!
Wait at least three minutes before unplugging the connectors
or removing other electrical equipment.

Remove the four screws for the bumper. The screws are
underneath the bumper and on the sides at the bottom of the
boot lid opening.

Remove the five screws (1) holding the bumper cover at the rear
edge of the wing liner in the rear wheel arch. Repeat on the
other side.

Remove the end of the bumper cover. Grasp the bumper cover
inside the wing liner. Pull carefully until the six catches at the top
edge release. Repeat on the other side.

Remove the cargo compartment carpet.

Prize off the four external clips at the front edge/bottom edge of
the sill trim panel on the tailgate.
Pry up one of the corners of the sill trim panel so that the two
clips at that end release. Use a weatherstrip tool.
Pull up the sill trim panel so the remaining six clips release.
Remove the panel.

Fold the seat cushion and backrest on the right-hand side of the
rear seat forward.

Grasp the upper edge of the right-hand side cushion. Pull the
side cushion forward so that the clip on the reverse releases.
Slide the side cushion up. Remove the side cushion.

Remove the screw.
Pull the panel upwards so that the four clips on the inside
release. Remove the panel.

Pull off the rubber strip at the rear of the opening for the right-
hand rear door.
Carefully pry off the lower panel on the C-post on the right-hand
side. Pry the top edge using a weatherstrip tool. Pull in the C-
post panel so that the two upper clips release. Then continue
pulling down until the last two clips release.

Fold out the anchorage eyelets.
Insert a scriber with an angled tip into the holes in the top of the
covers (1). Turn the scriber so that the tip engages the reverse
of the covers. Pull the covers off.
Remove the screws from the anchorage eyelets (2).
Remove the screw (3).
Pull off the side panel at the top so that the two clips at the
rear/bottom of the side window and the clip at the bottom of the
D-pillar release.
Disconnect the connector for the 12V socket, if present.
Lift out the side panel.

Remove the back-up (reversing) warning system (PAS) from
behind the right-hand wheel arch, to facilitate access to route the
cable harness to the tow bar. If necessary, disconnect any
surrounding wiring.

Remove the upper floor supports on the left and right-hand sides
if applicable.

Unscrew the two external clips at the front edge/bottom edge of
the sill trim panel on the tailgate.
Pry up one of the corners of the sill trim panel using a
weatherstrip tool so that the two clips at that end release.
Pull up the sill trim panel at the other end so that the remaining
two clips release. Remove the sill trim panel.

Remove the three clips (1) that hold the right-hand side panel in
the bodywork.
Unhook the side panel from the mounting (2) on the underneath
of the parcel shelf.
Fold out the rear edge of the side panel from the bodywork. At
the same time unhook the side panel from the rear load securing
eyelet. If the car has a 12V socket in the side panel, disconnect
the connector from this socket (if applicable).
Fold out the side panel to access the space in the rear of the
wheel arch.

Install the trailer hitch connector with cable harness to the
bracket on the left-hand side of the tow bar. Use screws and
nuts from the kit.

Take the pliers and widen the hole in the rubber grommet. Pull
the wiring through. Adjust the length of the cable harness up to
the rubber grommet.

hole in the car body. Press the rubber grommet into place.

Remove the screw and the nut holding the AM/FM tuner module
(AFM) in the bodywork. Disconnect the wiring if necessary.
Place the AM/FM tuner module (AFM) to one side.

Remove the screws and the nuts holding the AM/FM tuner
module (AFM) and the traffic message channel module (TMC) in
the bodywork.
Remove the AM/FM tuner module (AFM) and the traffic message
channel module (TMC) from the bodywork. Disconnect the
wiring if necessary.
Place the AM/FM tuner module (AFM) and the traffic message
channel module (TMC) to one side.
