Peavey Dyna-Bass is an electric bass guitar with a solid body made of poplar and a neck made of rock maple. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and has a radius of 8 inches. The scale length is 34 inches and there are 21 frets. The headstock is tilted at a 6-degree angle and has a Graphon top nut. The machine heads are "Mini" bass machine heads with reduced mass. The Dyna-Bass has two internally active humbucking pickups and an on-board active 3-band EQ with variable mid-notch controls. The output is low impedance and requires a 9-volt battery.
