PROPERINSTALLATION
This Water Filtration system must be properly installed and located in accordance with the Installation Instructions before it is used.
Install or store where it will not be exposed to temperatures below fl'eezing or exposed to any type of weather: Water fl'eezing in the
system will damage it. Do not attempt to treat water over 100°F.
.&WARNING:Oiscard all unused and packaging material after installation. Small parts remaining after installation could be
a choke hazard.

A. PREFERREDINSTALLATION
(Utilizing existing kitchen sink water supply valve [A] and removable faucet tubing [B])
For I/2-inch and 3/8-inch installations
I. Relier to Fig. 1 to complete assembly depending on supply \:dye size (A).

4. _ssemble adapter (C) and coupling (D) as shown in Fig. 1, per your configuration. Be sure the gaskets (G) are in place betore final
assembly. Start installation by hand, then finish tightening with a(!justable wrench. Be careful not toovertighten or cross threadas
damage tothreadsmay occur.
Note Adapter (C) orientation:

3/8-1hchInstallation--Rounded endof adapter(C)connectsto supplyvalve(A).
5. Hand tighten assembled adapter (C) onto supply wflve (A) for the proper size installation. Be sure the gaskets ((;), as shown
in Fig. l, are in place betore final assembly. Finish tightening with a(!justable wrench. Be careful Bet to evertightea or cross
thread as damage to threads may occur.
NOTE: If inlet valve needs to be removed to complete this step, refer to D. Removaland Reinsta//ation of Inlet Valve onpage 8.
8. Reconnect faucet tubing line (g) to top of adapter (C).
Z Remove ntlt and ferrule fl'om end of inlet valve. Using the 4 feet of tubing provided, place the ntlt (1) and ferrule (H) onto
the tubing and install onto inlet wflve (F) as shown in Fig. 9. Tighten with a(!justable wrench.
NOTE: Inspecttheon& of the tubingtobe sure thereareno imperfectionsandend of tubingis cut square.It maybe necessan/tocut the tubingagain.
B. OPTIONALHOME INSTALLATION--SADDLE VALVE
(Whore codes permit): Saddle valve must be able to connect with 1/4-inch tubing supplied with system.
Not supplied with product; check your local hardware or home service store for product.
For I/Z" OD or larger metal robing only.
NOTE: Codes in the state of Massachusetts require installation by a licensed plumber and do not permit the use of the saddle valve.
For installation, use plumbing code 248-CMR of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
I. Turn oflthe cold water supply and install saddle valve as required by product selection. (Be sure to follow manufi_cmre_'
installation instructions.)
A DANGER:,f hole is required to be drilled in pipe, to protect yourself from serious injury or fatal shock, use a battery
powered hand drift only to make the hole. DO NOT USE AN ELECTRICDRILL.
Open only after complete system has been installed.
C. OPTIONALINSTALLATION
(Forinstallationwith rigid pipe betweensupplyvalveand sinkfaucet)
Option I
I. Remove pipe fl'om supply wflve and sink timcet.
2. Obtain flexible pipe sized to w_ur plumbing.
3. Install flexible pipe to sink.
4. Go back to A. Preterred Installation section step 4.
Option2
I. Obtain compression fittings to fit rigid pipe.
2. Obtain any other fittings required to connect compression fittings to adaptex:
NOTE:Adapterhas I/2-inch and 3/8-inchinternaland externalthreads.
3. Remove pipe ti'om supply valve.
4. Cut pipe to fit length of assembled fittings and adaptex:
5. Install compression fitting to pipe.
6. Go back to A. Preti_rred Installation section step 4.

D. REMOVAL AND RE-INSTALLATION OF INLET VALVE (This is only required if inlet valve needs to be removed to complete Step 5 on page 7.)

3. Hand tighten assembled adapter ((:) onto supply \_flve (A) fin" the proper size installation. Be sure the gaskets (G), as shown in Fig. 1,
are in place befln'e final assembly: Finish tightening with a(!iustable wrench. Be careful notto overtighten or cross thread as damage
to threadsmay occur.
4. Using white thread sealing tape proxided, apply approximately 9 wraps of tape around the large threads on inlet _al_e (F) in a

clockwise direction, as shown in Fig . b.

5 Hand tighten inlet _al_e (F) into the adapter ((:), then finish tightening with a(!iustable wrench (see Fig . a). DONOTUSE WRENCH
ON HEXNUT END OF VALVEAS LEAKMAY OCCUR.
FaucetSpoutInstallations(seeFig. 4,page 9)
I. I_.elnove spout (A) and timcet body (B) ti'om tauter packaging.
2. Move the threaded dome-shaped collar (C) on the spout up and m_z_yfl'om the o-rings on the spout.
3. Gently insert the spout into the top of the timcet body.
NOTE: Turning the spout left to right during installation will help the o-rings to slide in easily.
4. Once the spout (A) has been installed and fully seated, slide the threaded collar ((:) down to the thucet body (B).
5. Tighten the collar by hand to the taucet body by turning in a clockwise direction.

FaucetInstallation
Be sure there is room underneath and above the sink to make the needed connections, getOre starting, make sure there is sufficient
room for the batte_ T powered timcet base. Select one of the tollowing places to install the timcet:
I. In an existing sink spray attachment or soap dispenser hole.
2. In a hole to be drilled in the sink top.
3. In a hole to be drilled in the countertop, next to the sink.

I. If drilling is needed, make a 3/4" diameter hole.
Be sure to use theproper procedure fordrilling porcelain or stainless steel. Special drill bits may be needed. Consulta qualified plumber
for the properprocedure.
2. Remove the timcet with ix'e-installed tubing, thin _>fing (D), tmuet base (E), bottom base gasket (17), lock washer (G), hex nut (H)
and mounting bracket (l) fl'om the packaging.
3. Feed tubing connected to the tilucet through the thin o-ring (D), tilucet base (E), bottom base gasket (F), lock washer (G) and
hex nut (H).
4. Thread the hex nut (H) tlI) the stem ot the tilucet until the height between the bottom of the base gasket (F) and top ot the lock
washer (G) is slightly larger than the thickness of the mounting stlrtilce (]).
5. I.ower the fhucet assembly into place in the mounting hole and orient to final position. Place the mounting bracket (I)
above the lock washer (G) around the taucet stem (Fig. 5). While holding the mounting bracket in place, securely tighten
the hex nut.

SCREWINSTALLATION
I. Remove this template ti'om the manual fin" easier installation.
2. The top of the template openings shotfld be placed a minimum of 17 inches above the bottom ot the cabinet or floor where the
system is to be inounted (Fig. 6 and 7).
NOTE: Any distance lower may result in filter canisters interfenng with the floor when removed
3. Tape template to wall, then mark the wall where the scre_:s are to be installed.
Install scre_:s into the wall, leaving 3/16 inch clearance between the head of the screw and wall (drill pilot holes if needed) (Fig. 8).

2. Hang the system on the previously installed screws using the openings on the back of the tlnit (Fig. 9).
3. If the head ot the screw will not slide into the upper slot, back out the screw bv 1/4 mrn and txy again.
4. If the system is too loose when placed on the wall, tighten the screws by 1/4 turn and txy again until a desired fit is achieved.

BatteryInstallation
I. Use a small flat blade screwdriver or coin to remove the battery tray (A) at the side of the fimcet base.
2. Install one CR2032, 3 volt batte_ y (g) + side down into the batte_' tray (A) (Fig. 12).
3. Slide tray into fimcet base ((:) until the battery tray (A) edge is flush with the side otthe base.
4. The blue light (D) will flash 5 times, indicating a proper installation and system reset.
5. Nommllv the light is ofl_ _Mter 6 months of use, the light will flash again eve_y 30 seconds, indicating the proper time to _eplace the
filter canister:
NOTE."Theblue hghtmaystop blinklbgif it # allowed toblink for an extendedperiodof time. Toemure properoperation,the batteryshouldbe replacedwith

SystemStartupProcedure
I. Slowl_ turn on cold water suppl_ _al_e (A) in Fig 1.
Z Turn on l/4" inlet xflxe to supply water to the sxstem. (Wflxe is on when handle is pointing in same direction as water line coming
()tit of ",¢fl',e).
ON
3. Turn handle on fimcet to allow trapped air to ptnge fl'om the system.
NOTE:System may make noise duringthis procedure.
4. Check fl)r water leaks around the system.
5. Once water staYts to flow ()tit of the tilucet, allow the system to run fin" 5 minutes to flush out anv harmless carb(m fines that may
be present.
6. Turn off tmlcet and check around s_:steln fin" leaks.
Replacingthe FilterCanisters
The blue light in the faucet base will flash every 30 seconds to indicate a filter change is needed. This occurs every 6 months.
I. Remove the filter canistei_ ti'om the manitold bv rotating the canistei_ to the left about 1/:4 turn (Fig. 13). NOT£'A smallamount
of water from the tubing between the filter and the faucet may come out. A small towel should be able to catch it.
2. ]_.elnove loft on top ot new replacement tilter canistei_. Install the new canistei_ into the manifi)ld by turning to the fight about
1/3 turn until the alignment mar!<s line up and the filter stops. DONOTOVERTIGBTEN.The filter will rise up as it is turned.
3. Turn handle on fimcet to allow trapped air to pmge fl'om the system.
