CAUTION: Both the Solar Cell and the Thermometer are made of glass. Either
one can be damaged or broken if this item is knocked over or struck by some
object, such as a lawn mower. Protect this item from damage.
1. The Solar Cell must be kept clean to effectively gather solar energy.
Periodically wipe the surface with a damp cloth.
2. Do not allow any strong chemicals to contact this item. Wrap it or remove it if
you will be spraying the area where it is installed.
Trouble Shooting
1. The light won’t come on. Possible
causes include insufficient sunlight reaching
the Solar Cell, Slide Switch damaged or in
the OFF position, damaged Battery or LED
light. Solution: Clean the Solar Cell and
expose the item to strong sunlight for a full
day. Ensure that the Slide Switch is in the
ON position. Ensure that the storage tab
has been removed from the Battery.
Replace the NiCad battery. If the light still
won’t operate, take the item to a qualified
service technician for repair.
NOTE: To open the Battery Case, remove
the phillips head screw mounted on each
side of the item, under the Solar Cell. To
replace the battery, pull it straight out from its mounting bracket. To install new
battery, press it into the mounting
bracket, being sure to match the
polarity of the battery with the
markings in the battery compartment.
2. The light operates, but very
weakly. Possible causes include
insufficient sunlight reaching the Solar
Cell, dirty Solar Cell, and storage
Battery failure. Solution: Clean the
surface of the Solar Cell and expose to
strong sunlight for a full day. If the light
still operates weakly, replace the
NiCad battery. If the light still doesn’t
operate correctly, take the item to a
qualified service technician for repair.
