Rear Body #2 Wiring Assembly
Obtain the Rear Body #2 wiring harness and connect the 4-way connector “B” to the Dash Harness (See page #4). Route the rest of the wiring to the rear of the vehicle using the same routing as the original factory Body Wiring. Use the original factory retainers (tabs) to retain the wiring to the vehicle. Install the
grommet, which is included on the harness, into the original factory grommet hole (for CJ-5 or CJ-7 in the rear floor pan, for CJ-8 behind the Driver’s Seat Belt Retractor). Continue to route the wiring to the Rear Tail Light Assemblies and connect directly to the Tail Lights.
Connector B Connect to the Dash Harness Rear Body #2 connector.

Note: If your Tail Light Assemblies do not have connectors on the pigtails, or you purchase new aftermarket Tail Light Assemblies without connectors, we have provided two male 4-way connectors “M” and terminals “F” and “W”, plus two female 4-way connectors “L” and terminals “C” and “D”,
that can be used as an inline connection between the Rear Body #2 Harness and the Tail Lights. It is recommended that you attach the black connector “L”, to the tail light assembly. There is an open cavity in the 4-way connector, for a ground wire, if desired.
Retaining Clips Obtain the four retaining clips “X” and wrap them around the wiring between the Left and Right Tail Light Assemblies. Attach these clips to the underside of the Rear Floor Pan where the original wiring clips were attached.
Rear Side Marker Lights (1976-80)
If you have a 1976-80 vehicle, the Rear Side Marker Lights are separate from the Tail Light Assemblies. We have provided two Side Marker Jumper Harnesses Item “K” that will connect directly to the Rear Body #2 Harness and also connect to the Side Marker Assemblies (see page 1).
If you have a 1981-86 vehicle, the Rear Side Marker Lights are internal to the Tail Light Assemblies and there are no separate wiring connections that you have to make for the Side Marker Lights.
Left Side Marker Light (1976-80) Connect wire 9C from the left Tail Light connector to wire 9E of the Side Marker Jumper. Route the Side Marker Jumper to the Left Side Marker. Add a #194 Bulb (not included in this kit) to the socket and connect to the Left Side Marker. Locate a good vehicle ground and attach
the ground ring terminal 150A to ground.

Right Side Marker Light (1976-80) Connect wire 9D from the right Tail Light connector to wire 9F of the Side Marker Jumper. Route the Side Marker Jumper to the Right Side Marker. Add a #194 Bulb (not included in this kit) to the socket and connect to the Right Side Marker. Locate a good vehicle ground and
attach the ground ring terminal 150B to ground.

Rear Body #1 Wiring Assembly (Body Location)
Obtain the Rear Body #1 Wiring Assembly. Before connecting connector “A” to the Dash Harness, you will have to install the loose wires into connector “A” based on the following options.
Dome Light If you have a Dome Light, obtain the loose orange “12V BATTERY-FUSED” wire (circuit 40) with the male terminal, and the loose white “CTSY GROUND” wire (circuit 156) with the male terminal, and insert these wires into connector “A” (see page 1 for wire location). These two wires will be routed
with the rest of the Rear Body #1 Wiring.

Third Brake Light If you have a Third Brake Light, obtain the loose light blue “THIRD BRAKE LIGHT” wire (circuit 17) with the male terminal, and insert this wire into connector “A” (see page 1 for wire location). This wire will be routed with the rest of
the Rear Body #1 wiring.

Now connect Connector “A” to the Dash Harness. Route the Rear Body #1 wires along with the Rear Body #2 wires to the rear of the vehicle. The tan wire 30 (Gas Gauge) will pass through the grommet that you installed previously and will route to the Fuel Sender. The rest of the wires will route to the left rear of the
vehicle for the connection to a Dome and/or a Third Brake Light.
Fuel Sender Obtain the tan “Gas Gauge” wire (circuit 30) from the Rear Body Harness #1 and route it to the Fuel Sender Assembly, cut to length, slide on sleeve “H”, and crimp on ring terminal “J” (see page 1). Slide sleeve “H” over the crimp, and attach terminal “J” to the Fuel Sender Assembly.

Rear Body #1 Wiring Assembly (Hard Top)
Dome Light Obtain the orange “12V BATTERY-FUSED” wire (circuit 40) and the white “CTSY GROUND” wire (circuit 156), that are now located at the left rear of the vehicle, by the Hard Top, where the original connection would be made to the factory Dome Light Harness. Cut to length, crimp on
terminal “R” to each wire and insert each wire into connector “Q”, (see page 1 for location of these wires).
Third Brake Light Obtain the loose light blue “THIRD BRAKE LIGHT” wire (circuit 17) and route it to connector “Q”, and cut to length. Obtain the loose black “GROUND” wire (circuit 150Y), this is not in any Rear Body Harness, and route the ring terminal end to a good vehicle ground and attach. Route the other end
of the ground wire to connector “Q”, and cut to length. Crimp on terminals “R” to the light blue and black wires and insert each wire into connector “Q”, (see page 1 for the wire location).
Hard Top Wiring
If you use the original Dome Light Wires: Obtain the orange and black original factory Dome Light wires (located in the Hard Top of the vehicle), remove the old factory 2-way connector and crimp on terminals “P” to each wire, and insert into connector “N” (see page 1 for location of these wires). The factory orange
wire will plug into the orange wire 40 and the factory black wire will plug into the white wire 156.
If you need to replace the original Dome Light Wires: Obtain the loose orange “12V BATTERY-FUSED” wire (circuit 40X), and the loose white “CTSY GROUND” wire (circuit 156X), (Note: terminal “P” is already crimped on to each wire), insert these two wires into connector “N” (see page 1), and route the loose ends
of each wire to the Dome Light and connect.
If you need to connect to a Third Brake Light, obtain the loose light blue “THIRD BRAKE LIGHT” wire (circuit 17X) and the loose black “GROUND” wire (circuit 150X), (Note: terminal “P” is already crimped on to each wire), insert these two wires into connector “N” (see page 1), and route the loose ends of each wire to
the Third Brake Light and connect.

Driving Lights Jumper Harness “S” Obtain the large orange wire (circuit 140) from the Rear Body #3 Harness and route it to the Driving Lights (or another option), cut to length, crimp on terminal “W” and plug it into connector “U”. This is the feed wire for the option. Mating connector “V” and terminal “D” have
been provided for the device.
Note: This Jumper Harness is available to provide a large 12 gauge wire that continues from the Engine Compartment, through the Dash Harness, and then to the Rear Body Harness. It is not electrically connected to any other wires. It is recommended that you add a Relay Kit with circuit
protection to complete the circuit. This wire can be used for Driving Lights or other options.

Power Outlet Jumper Harness “T” Obtain the red wire (circuit 105) from the Rear Body #4 Harness and route it to a Power Outlet (or another option that requires B+), cut to length, crimp on terminal “F” and plug it into connector “U”. This is the feed wire for the option; it has a 20A fuse for wire protection. Mating
connector “V” and terminal “C” have been provided for the device.
Note: This Jumper Harness is available to provide a 14 gauge wire for a Power Outlet or other options that require a B+ feed. It is connected to the Fuse Block through a 20A fuse.
